  • In this study we reported the Smoke Density test method of interior panel of railroad passenger car and investigated the specific smoke density(Ds) by NBS smoke chamber to the variance of some test conditions. First we compared the result of Ds from ISO 5659-2 with that from ASTM E662 for same phenol FRP Secondary studied the Ds value to the variance of resin type and to the variance of specimen shape.

  • This study notices that corporate crisis spreading throughout society through SNS, according to the growing influence of online e-WOM on the basis Mobile and SNS. The study will prove that users' psychological tendencies can be affected by online e-WOM and played a role factors of crisis management on Facebook fanpage. This study conducted Facebook Fanpages users' perception of authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and interactivity affected Online e-WOM before a crisis, and authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and interactivity affected negative Online e-WOM after a crisis. The result through the sample of 290 men and women in their 20s and 30s who use a Facebook fanpage. found that Facebook fanpage users' perception of authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and interactivity affect on Online e-WOM before a crisis. On the other hand, the results found that Facebook fanpage users' perception of authenticity, and interactivity affect on Online e-WOM in caused crisis. Based on the results from the present study, suggested authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and Interactivity function in the aspect of the relationship marketing or crisis communication.

Anti-Angiogenic Activity of Acalycixenolide E, a Novel Marine Natural Product from Acallycigorgia inermis

  • Angiogenesis is known as a crucial process in the growth and spreading of tumor cells. Accordingly, the effective inhibition of this process would appear to be a promising way to cure angiogenesis-related diseases, including cancer. This study demonstrates that acalycixenolide E (AX-E) from the marine organism Acalycigorgia inermis exhibits a potent anti-angiogenic activity both in vitro and in vivo. AX-E inhibits the bFGF-induced proliferation of HUVECs in a dose dependent manner, along with the bFGF-induced migration, invasion, and tube formation of HUVECs. Moreover, AX-E potently inhibits the in vivo neovascularization of the chorioallantoic membranes (CAMs) of growing chick embryos. interestingly, AX-E suppresses the expression of metalloproteases 2 and 9, yet shows no effect on their activities. The novel chemical structure and potent anti-angiogenic activity of AX-E will be of great value in elucidating the molecular mechanism of angiogenesis as well as in the development of a novel anti-angiogenic drug.

  • The weight reduction of carbody structures is of great concern in developing high speed tilting train for the normal operation of tilting system. The use of composite materials for the carbody structures has many advantages due to their excellent material properties such as high specific strength and stiffness. In this paper, finite clement analysis was conducted to analysis and design the composite structure of Tilting Train eXpress(TTX). According to JIS E 7105, various load tests were performed using finite element analysis and the structural safety of the composite carbody structure was inspected to determine the thickness of the composite sandwich structure. In addition, structural analysis was conducted to suggest a design of the joint part of composite carbody and metal underframe.

Study on the Smoke Density Characteristics of Flame Retardant Sol Manufactured by a Sol-gel Method (졸-겔법으로 제조된 방염제졸의 연기밀도 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a non-halogen type organic-inorganic hybrid flame retardant sol, which can impart flame resistance to synthesize silicate of inorganic material and silane coupling agent of organic material by a sol-gel method, were newly manufactured. The addition of flame retardant will prevent loss of life in a fire because smoke from the flammability of interior finishing materials used as the construction materials poses a major danger. The smoke density measurement standard based on flame retardant performance standards, experiments were conducted according to the test equipment and procedures of ASTM E 662. The non-flaming mode experiment and the flaming mode experiment were conducted to confirm the performance of the manufactured flame retardant sol. As a result, the manufactured flame retardant sol improved the physical properties and heat resistance of existing flame retardants, and decreased the smoke production of the fire. Therefore, it may be possible to reduce the damage caused by smoke and expand the applications to various interior finishing materials.

Synthesis of Alkylenediaminoalkyl-bis-Phosphonic Acid Derivatives (알킬렌디아미노알킬-비스-포스폰산 유도체의 합성)

  • Four kinds of new alkylenediaminoalkyl-bis-phosphonic acid derivatives with alkylenediaminoalkyl functional groups in the molecule were synthesized and their smoke density(Ds) were tested. These alkylenediaminoalkyl-bis-phosphonic acid derivatives were prepared in yields(76-97.3%) by one step reaction of the phosphorus acid with amine and aldehyde. Smoke density was measured by the method of ASTM E 662. The values of smoke density were obtained from 234.7 to 437.9. The smoke density of compounds with two phosphonic acid structures were increased more than that of compounds with one phosphonic acid structure. In addition, there was correlation between the smoke density and the number of nitrogen atoms in amino group attached to mono- or di-phosphonic acids group.

  • Combustion characteristics and toxicity of combustion gas of wallpaper samples were analyzed to evaluate the fire risk of wallpaper furnished in living space. In this study ash residue ratio was measured with high temperature electric furnace, and thermal analysis was carried out with TGA. Combustion time and smoke concentration were measured with cone heater and combustion gas analyzer. Smoke density of samples was measured using smoke chamber of ASTM E 662. The experimental results were showed as followings. Pyrolysis of silk wallpaper started at lower temperature compared to the other samples. It means that the silk wallpaper can be ignited at low heat flux and will have more fire risk than the others. Ignition time by radiation heat flux of silk wallpaper is shorter compared to the other samples, so evacuation time must be reduced. In the case of vinyl coated silk wall paper, carbon mono oxide concentration is the highest and the toxicity and damage effect to consciousness was stronger compared to the other samples. Smoke density of silk wall paper and fire retardant mixed coated silk wall paper were very high due to vinyl coating.

A Study on Combustion Characteristics in each Coating Thickness of Fire Retardant Paints (난연도료의 도포 두께별 연소특성에 관한 연구)

  • This experimental study shows the combustion characteristics for each coating thickness of water and oil paint which are used as fire retardant paints that prevent fire propagation through cables in underground culverts and trays. To evaluate combustion characteristics, smoke density(ASTM E 662) and Limited Oxygen Index(ASTM D 2863) experiment method was used. As the results of this study, the combustion characteristics of fire retardant paints produced the following : (a) The molt suitable coating thickness of fire retardant paint was 1.5∼2.0 mm in water paint and 0.2 mm in oil paint. (b) Flaming method in experiments of smoke density were found to be higher than Non-flaming method. (c) Water paint has the fire retardant effect and characteristics better than oil paint in measurement results of smoke density and oxygen index. (d) The oxygen index of water and oil fire retardant was able to know that it was satisfied a standard (30 or above).

Synthesis of Dialklyaminoalkyl Phosphonic Acid and Bis(dialklyaminoalkyl) Phosphinic Acid Derivatives (디알킬아미노알킬 포스폰산과 비스-디알킬아미노알킬 포스핀산 유도체의 합성)

  • Six kinds of new aminoalkyl phosphonic acid or aminoalkyl phosphinic acid derivatives with mono-dialkylamino, or di-dialkylamino functional groups in the molecule were synthesized and their smoke densities were tested. The aminoalkyl phposphonic acid or aminoalkyl phosphinic acid derivatives were synthesized with quantitative yields of 90~98.6% by one step reaction of the phosphorus acid or hypo phosphorous acid with amine and aldehyde. The smoke density was measured by the ASTM E 662 method. Values of the smoke density were obtained from 224.5 to 256.6. The smoke density of the compounds with two aminoalkyl structures decreased more than that of compounds with one aminoalkyl structure. In addition, there was no correlation between the smoke density and the number of carbon atoms in the alkyl group attached to the amino group.

  • Twenty-one lowland rice genotypes were evaluated for their stability parameters with respect to grain yield in a multi locational trial at five different sites of Eastern India viz. CRRI, Cuttack (Orissa); OUAT, Bhubaneswar (Orissa); CRS, Masodha (UP); RAU, Pusa (Bihar) and RARS, North Lakhimpur (Assam). Pooled analysis of variance reflects existence of genotype x environment interactions and contribution of both linear and nonlinear components to genotype (G) x environment (E) interactions. Through stability parameter analysis it was found that Rayda $\textrm{B}_3$, CR 778-95 and CR 661-236 were suitable for over all environments where as Sabita, OR 1334-16 and OR 1358-RGA-4 were suitable for rich environments. PSR 1209-2-3-2, CR 780-1937, Ambika, OR 877-ST-4-2 and CR 662-2211 were identified for poor environments.
