Nitric Oxide(NO) is produced in many organs of the body, including the lung and airways, and it is detectable in the exhaled air. The measurement of exhaled NO(eNO) provides a simple non-invasive means for measuring airway inflammation, such as asthma. We measured eNO among adult male workers to examine the distribution of eNO in healthy people and to find factors affecting eNO. We measured eNO in a sample of 921 adult workers who also performed lung function test and skin prick test. Exhaled NO was measured in a sitting posture without using a nose clip and NO free gas. NO was measured at three expiratory rates(l8; 42; 71 $m\ell$/sec) and the flow rate of 71 $m\ell$/sec was used in analysis. The average eNO concentration was 5.29 $\pm$ 2.98 ppb. The level increased with age but not significantly(P=0.0529). Exhaled NO showed positive relations to the height(P=0.0001), pollen 1 (P=0.0124), asthma history(P=0.0212), allergic rhinitis symptom(P=0.0302). Exhaled NO Concentration of smokers( 4.62 ppb) was significantly lower than that of nonsmokers(5.99 ppb; P<0.0001).

The dietary fiber and crude fiber contents of different thallus regions (blade, stipe, and holdfast) in three brown algae (Laminaria japonica, Ecklonia stolonifera, and E. cava) were detennined at different ages, and then compared with one another. On a dry matter basis, the soluble dietary fiber (SDF) content was highest ($10.8{\pm}0.5%$) in the holdfast of 2-year old L. japonica, and the insoluble dietary fiber (IDF), total dietary fiber (TDF), and crude fiber (CF) contents were highest in the holdfast of 2-year old E. cava at $44.5{\pm}0.7%$, $50.2{\pm}0.5%$, $6.8{\pm}0.7%$, respectively. The IDF, TDF, and CF contents of these three species were measured in the following order: holdfast > stipe > blade, and the SDF contents of L. japonica exhibited the reverse of this trend. The TDF/CF ratio of 1-year old L. japonica, E. stolonifera, and E. cava was greater than was observed in the corresponding 2-year old samples. This is, to the best of our knowledge, the first report demonstrating that the holdfasts of L. japonica, E. stolonifera, and E. cava are rich in dietary fiber contents, especially IDF, TDF, and CF.

T. phaselus Ehara, 33. T. truncatus Ehara, 34. T. urticae Koch, 35. T. vienensis Zacher, 36. Aegyptobia nothus Pritchard et Baker, 37. Pentamerismus taxi (Haller), 38. P. oregonensis McGregor, 39. Brevipalpus californicus(Banks), 40. B. lewisi McGregor, 41. B. obovatus Donnadieu, 42. Tenuipalpus zhizhilashviliae Reck. On the above species, a taxanomic key was made and ecological data including distribution and host plant are presented in this paper.

알레르기 환자의 증가로 인하여 알러겐을 찾는 것은 중요하다. MAST는 알러겐 특이 IgE항체를 측정하는 간단한 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 알레르기 환자에서 알러겐 특이 IgE 항체, 총 IgE, 호산구수와의 관련성을 평가하고자 하였다. 연구 결과 총 IgE 양성률은 흡입형 패널에서 96.97%, 식품형 패널에서 98.06%였다. 알러겐 특이 IgE 항체의 양성률은 흡입형 패널에서 집먼지 51.52%, 북아메리카 집먼지 진드기 45.46%, 고양이 31.99% 였으며, 식품형 패널에서 각각 55.34%, 42.72%, 34.96%였다. 혈청 총 IgE는 알레르기와 관련이 있었으나, 알레르기가 항상 호산구증가와 관련이 있는 것은 아니었다.
