Cefixime is an orally absorbed cephalosporin with a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-negative bacteria and is highly resistant to beta-lactamase degradation. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two cefixime capsules, Suprax capsule (Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co., reference drug) and Alpha-Cefixime capsule (Alpha Pharmaceutical Co., test drug), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty-four normal subjects, $23.5{\pm}3.72$ years in age and $68.3{\pm}8.89$ kg in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. There was one week washout period between the doses. After one capsule containing 100 mg of cefixime was orally administered, plasma was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of cefixime in plasma were determined using HPLC with UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_{t}$, $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters. The results showed that the differences in $AUC_{t}$, $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ between two products were -3.91%, -2.23% and -3.18%, respectively, when calculated against the reference drug. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of $log0.8{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}log1.25$ (e.g., $log0.8786{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}log1.0523$ and $log0.8889{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}log1.0512$ for $AUC_{t}$ and $C_{max}$, respectively). The 90% confidence intervals using untransformed data was within ${\pm}20%$(e.g., $-10.37%{\leq}{\delta}{\leq}6.73%$ for $T_{max}$). All parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that Alpha-Cefixime capsule (Alpha Pharmaceutical Co.) is bioequivalent to Suprax capsule (Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co.).
To effectively extract the vast wind resource, offshore wind turbines are designed with large rotor and slender tower, which makes them vulnerable to external vibration sources such as wind and wave loads. Substantial research efforts have been devoted to mitigate the unwanted vibrations of offshore wind turbines to ensure their serviceability and safety in the normal working condition. However, most previous studies investigated the vibration control of wind turbines in one direction only, i.e., either the out-of-plane or in-plane direction. In reality, wind turbines inevitably vibrate in both directions when they are subjected to the external excitations. The studies on both the in-plane and out-of-plane vibration control of wind turbines are, however, scarce. In the present study, the NREL 5 MW wind turbine is taken as an example, a detailed three-dimensional (3D) Finite Element (FE) model of the wind turbine is developed in ABAQUS. To simultaneously control the in-plane and out-of-plane vibrations induced by the combined wind and wave loads, another carefully designed (i.e., tuned) spring and dashpot are added to the perpendicular direction of each Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) system that is used to control the vibrations of the tower and blades in one particular direction. With this simple modification, a bi-directional TMD system is formed and the vibrations in both the out-of-plane and in-plane directions are simultaneously suppressed. To examine the control effectiveness, the responses of the wind turbine without control, with separate TMD system and the proposed bi-directional TMD system are calculated and compared. Numerical results show that the bi-directional TMD system can simultaneously control the out-of-plane and in-plane vibrations of the wind turbine without changing too much of the conventional design of the control system. The bi-directional control system therefore could be a cost-effective solution to mitigate the bi-directional vibrations of offshore wind turbines.

We examined the appearance of cold water in the southwest region of the East Sea, based on the sea surface temperature (SST) at the east coast of Korea and buoy data in Donghae ($37^{\circ}31$'N, $130^{\circ}00$'E, 80 km east away from Donghae port) and Pohang ($36^{\circ}21$'N, $129^{\circ}46$'E, 35 km east away from Ganggu port) from June to August in 2013. Also, the serial oceanographic data of National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) were used to see the oceanographic conditions for June and August in 2013. The SST anomaly at the east coast showed negative values in $3{\sim}6^{\circ}C$ from 2 July. At Janggigab, the SST anomaly showed negative value amount to $10^{\circ}C$ in 8 July. The negative values of SST anomaly continued to the middle of August at Janggigab. The wind speed was 6~11 m/s and the direction was south-southwestly in 1 July. The wind speed amounts to 6~16 m/s in 2 July. It means that the strong wind induced the upwelling effect by a day. The temperature was lower than normal at the depth in 20 m of the East Sea in June and August. The air pressure was 996~998 hPa in the beginning of July. It was the lowest air pressure during the studied period. The correlation was 0.3 between the SST anomaly and air pressure. It was suggested that the appearance of cold water in the East Sea was influenced by a stirring due to wind and low air pressure as well as coastal upwelling.
BGP is a unique routing protocol in broadband internet. It chooses routing paths considering internet hierarchy and local policies. As BGP routers selectively bypass routing information to a subset of neighboring BGP routers, connectivity by way of a series of links between source and destination nodes does not mean reachability of routing information of the two. In emergency when BGP routers or links over wide range are not available, BGP routers have to use links that are not normally used to keep reachability. This paper listed out the requirements for BGP backup routing and proposed a routing solution that hides most demerits in currently published ones. The proposed backup operates in three tiers according to network damage. Under this rule, BGP routers use tier-0 routing paths at normal. If networks are impaired, they choose tier-1 paths. If networks are seriously damaged, tier-2 paths are allowed to use. Also this paper proves that the proposed backup guarantees stability and safeness. As results, the proposed backup is very adaptive to light network damages as well as serious ones and provides strong routing reachability at all times.
Chronic diabetic patients need to sample capillary blood for monitoring and controlling the blood sugar level. Frequent sampling requires to minimize pain during skin puncture. The present study developed mechanisms to minimize pain with effective sampling procedure. which consisted of tapered spring, guiding tunnel, and 30G needle Penetration depth was limited to within 2mm for pain reduction as well as for safety. Simple no-reuse mechanism also prevented the cross-patient and secondary infection possibility. Clinical experiments demonstrated the best convenience and safety with minimal pain in the diabetes, normal, and nursing students groups. Sing1e blood sampling was enough for successful blood sugar test by portable analyzer. The present sing1e use auto-lancet should be of great convenience in frequent capillary blood sampling for the diabetes.

Aflatoxin $M_1$ ($AFM_1$) after its bioconversion from aflatoxin $B_1$ in animal liver becomes the part of milk while heavy metals get entry into milk and milk products during handling in the supply chain. Aflatoxin $M_1$ and heavy metals being toxic compounds are needed to be monitored continuously to avoid any ailments among consumers of foods contaminated with such toxicants. Thirteen commercially available infant formula milk (IFM) brands available in Pakistani markets were analyzed for the quantitative determination of $AFM_1$ and heavy metals through ELISA and atomic absorption spectrophotometer, respectively. $AFM_1$ was found positive in 53.84% samples while 30.76% samples were found exceeding the maximum EU limit i.e. $0.025 {\mu}g/kg$ for $AFM_1$ in IFM. Heavy metals lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) were found below the detection limits in any of the sample, whereas the concentrations of iron (Fe), zinc (Zn) and nickel (Ni) ranged between 45.40-97.10, 29.72-113.50 and <$0.001-50.90 {\mu}g/kg$, respectively. The concentration of Fe in all the tested brands was found in normal ranges while the concentrations of Zn and Ni were found exceeding the standard norms. Elevated levels of $AFM_1$, Zn and Ni in some of the tested IFM brands indicated that a diet completely based on these IFM brands might pose sever health implications in the most vulnerable community i.e., infants.

Bar-code (tag) microarrays of yeast gene-deletion collections facilitate the systematic identification of genes required for growth in any condition of interest. Anti-sense strands of amplified bar-codes hybridize with ~10,000 (5,000 each for up-and down-tags) different kinds of sense-strand probes on an array. In this study, we optimized the hybridization processes of an array for fission yeast. Compared to the first version of the array (11 ㎛, 100K) consisting of three sectors with probe pairs (perfect match and mismatch), the second version (11 ㎛, 48K) could represent ~10,000 up-/ down-tags in quadruplicate along with 1,508 negative controls in quadruplicate and a single set of 1,000 unique negative controls at random dispersed positions without mismatch pairs. For PCR, the optimal annealing temperature (maximizing yield and minimizing extra bands) was 58℃ for both tags. Intriguingly, up-tags required 3× higher amounts of blocking oligonucleotides than down-tags. A 1:1 mix ratio between up- and down-tags was satisfactory. A lower temperature (25℃) was optimal for cultivation instead of a normal temperature (30℃) because of extra temperature-sensitive mutants in a subset of the deletion library. Activation of frozen pooled cells for >1 day showed better resolution of intensity than no activation. A tag intensity analysis showed that tag(s) of 4,316 of the 4,526 strains tested were represented at least once; 3,706 strains were represented by both tags, 4,072 strains by up-tags only, and 3,950 strains by down-tags only. The results indicate that this microarray will be a powerful analytical platform for elucidating currently unknown gene functions.
The October 23 2011 Van Earthquake is studied from an earthquake engineering point of view. Strong ground motion processing was performed to investigate features of the earthquake source, forward directivity effects during the rupture process as well as local site effects. Strong motion characteristics were investigated in terms of peak ground motion and spectral acceleration values. Directiviy effects were discussed in detail via elastic response spectra and wide band spectograms to see the high frequency energy distributions. Source parameters and slip distribution results of the earthquake which had been proposed by different researchers were summarized. Influence of the source parameters on structural response were shown by comparing elastic response spectra of Muradiye synthetic records which were performed by broadband strong motion simulations of the earthquake. It has been emphasized that characteristics of the earthquake rupture dynamics and their effects on structural design might be investigated from a multidisciplinary point of view. Seismotectonic calculations (e.g., slip pattern, rupture velocity) may be extended relating different engineering parameters (e.g., interstorey drifts, spectral accelerations) across different disciplines while using code based seismic design approaches. Current state of the art building codes still far from fully reflecting earthquake source related parameters into design rules. Some of those deficiencies and recent efforts to overcome these problems were also mentioned. Next generation ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) may be incorporated with certain site categories for site effects. Likewise in the 2011 Van Earthquake, Reverse/Oblique earthquakes indicate that GMPEs need to be feasible to a wider range of magnitudes and distances in engineering practice. Due to the reverse faulting with large slip and dip angles, vertical displacements along with directivity and fault normal effects might significantly affect the engineering structures. Main reason of excessive damage in the town of Erciş can be attributed to these factors. Such effects should be considered in advance through the establishment of vertical design spectra and effects might be incorporated in the available GMPEs.
Second-order rate constants (kN) have been determined spectrophotometrically for reactions of Y-substituted phenyl 2-furoates (1a-h) with piperidine and morpholine in 80 mol % H2O/20 mol % DMSO at 25.0 ± 0.1 oC. The Brønsted-type plot exhibits a downward curvature for the reactions with strongly basic piperidine but is linear for the reactions with weakly basic morpholine. The slope of the curved Brønsted-type plot changes from -1.25 to ?0.28 as the pKa of the conjugate acid of the leaving aryloxides decreases. The pKa at the center of the Brønsted curvature, defined as pKa°, was determined to be 6.4. The aminolysis of 1a-h has been concluded to proceed through a stepwise mechanism on the basis of the curved Brønsted-type plot. The reactions of Ysubstituted phenyl cinnamates (2a-g) with piperidine resulted in a curved Brønsted-type plot with a pKa° values of 6.4. However, the curved Brønsted-type plot has been suggested to be not due to a change in the RDS but due to a normal Hammond effect of a concerted mechanism, since the Brønsted-type plot for the corresponding reactions with morpholine results in also a curved Brønsted-type plot with a pKa° values of 6.1. The furoates with a basic leaving group (i.e., 1b-g) are less reactive than the corresponding cinnamates (i.e., 2b-g). The k2/ k-1 ratios for the reactions of 1b-h are much smaller than unity, which has been suggested to be responsible for their low reactivity.
The considerable researches have been done on the change,1 associated with age in the blood picture of domestic animals, but a survey has not been of the blood picture in Thoroughbred fears in Korea. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to outline the range of values in clinically not\\\\`- mal Thoroughbred foals. Some blood chemical parameters from 3 days to 8 weeks of age were exam-ined to obtain normal values in Thoroughbred foal7. Blood samples were obtained from the jugular vein in 11 Thoroughbred foals and collected at 3 days, and at 1,2,4 and 8 weeks of age, respectively. The results obtained ill this study were summarized as follows: The packed cell volume (PCV) at 4 weeks of age was significantly lower than that at 3 days of age (P<0.01) and that al 2 and 8 weeks of age were straightly lower than that at 3 days of age (P<0.05). The total protein (TP) at 8 weeks of age was higher than that at 3 days, 1 and 2 weeks of age (P<0.05). The activity of aspartate ami-notransferase (AST) at 2,4 and 8 weeks of age were significantly higher than that at 3 days of age (P<0.01). The total bilirnbin showed a tendency to decrease gradually according to the weeks and that at 2,4 and 8 weeks of age were significantly lower than that at 3 days of age (P<0.01). The BUN at 1 and 8 weeks of ago were lower than that at 3 days of age (P<0.05). The concentration of Ca at 1 week of alee was higher than that at 3 days of age (P<0.05). The vitamin A and vitamin E showed a tendency to decrease gradually from 3 days to 4 weeks of age and increased slightly at 8 weeks of age.
