A callosal disconnection syndrome results in the functional independence of each hemisphere caused by ACA infarction, head injury or callosal operation for epilepsy. Clinical features are characterized by left unilateral tactile anomia, left unilateral agraphia, left unilateral apraxia, difficulty in copying drawings, dyscalculia and alien hand syndrome. Taeumchowe-tang(太陰調胃湯) is used to treat Taeumin(太陰人) Wewansuhanpyohanbyung(胃脘受寒表寒病). A 47 year-old man, following callosal infarction, was detected on MRI with left agraphia, dyscalculia and alien hand syndrome, but no left ideomotor apraxia or left apraxia. He was treated with Taeumchowe-tang. Significant improvement of clinical symptoms was seen, so it is here reported.

Objectives: This study was conducted in order to develop a computerized test to measure the level of mathematic achievement and related cognitive functions in children and adolescents in South Korea. Methods: The computerized Comprehensive Learning Test-Mathematic (CLT-M) consists of the whole number computation test, enumeration of dot group test, number line estimation test, numeral comparing test (magnitude/distance), rapid automatized naming test, digit span test, and working memory test. To obtain the necessary data and to investigate the reliability and validity of this test, 399 children and adolescents from kindergarten to middle school were recruited. Results: The internal consistency reliability of the CLT-M was high (Cronbach's alpha=0.76). Four factors explained 66.4% of the cumulative variances. In addition, the data for all of the CLT-M subtests were obtained. Conclusion: The computerized CLT-M can be used as a reliable and valid tool to evaluate the level of mathematical achievement and associated cognitive functions in Korean children and adolescents. This test can also be helpful to detect mathematical learning disabilities, including specific learning disorder with impairment in mathematics, in Korea.

수학 학습장애는 정상적인 수학적 역량 획득을 저해하는 학습 장애의 한 유형으로, 아동, 청소년의 5- 10% 정도가 겪는 학습 장애의 한 분야이다. 현재 수학학습장애를 진단하기 위하여 기초학력평가나 표준화된 검사가 사용되고 있다. 검사 결과를 토대로 아동의 사전지식을 파악하고, 취약한 영역을 찾는 것 역시 중요하다. 본 연구는 수학학습장애의 유형을 파악하고, 중재의 출발점을 알려줄 수 있는 포괄적인 진단 검사가 포함해야 하는 구성요소를 찾는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이를 위하여 신경심리학적 이론에 근거하여 수학학습에 영향을 주는 기본적인 인지적 요인들을 찾고, 관련되어 활성화 되는 두뇌 영역과 그들의 세부적 기능을 살펴본다. 또 수학학습장애 아동의 신경심리학적 특징을 살펴 본 다음 수학학습장애의 유형을 분류한다. 그 결과를 바탕으로 교육현장에서 사용될 수 있는 심층 진단 검사의 개발을 위한 기초연구를 수행하고자 한다.

수학은 기초학력 보장과 밀접한 관련이 있는 교과이다. 최근 기초학력의 중요성이 대두되면서 수학 교과의 기초학력을 보장하기 위한 각종 정책과 사업이 운영되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 17개 시·도 교육청의 기초학력 보장 시행계획 내용 중 수학 교과와 관련이 있는 내용을 추출하여 사업 실태를 분석하였다. 관련 사업들을 진단과 지원으로 구분하고 진단에 대해서는 진단 도구의 종류, 진단 도구를 선택하는 주체, 진단 대상, 진단 시기를 분석하였다. 학습 지원에 대해서는 교실 내 지원, 학교 내 지원, 학교 밖 지원으로 구분하여 분석하고, 추가로 학습 지원 사업의 성격과 지도 인력의 전문성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 진단의 측면에서는 진단 시기 조정, 진단 전문성 확보에 대한 이슈가 있었고, 지원의 측면에서는 예방 성격의 사업 부족, 지도 전문성 확보, 난산증 지원에 대한 이슈가 있었다. 본 연구는 수학 교과의 기초학력 보장을 위한 사업을 운영하거나 수학 교육에서 기초학력 관련 연구 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
