비접촉식 웨이퍼 그리퍼용 공압 파지식 헤드 설계 (Design of the Air Pressure Pick-up Head for Non-Contact Wafer Gripper)

  • The recent manufacturing process in the thin wafers and flat panel necessitate new approaches to reduce handling fragile and surface-sensitive damage of components. This paper presents a new pneumatic levitation for non-contact handling of parts and substrates. This levitation can achieve non-contact handling by blowing air into an air pressure pick-up head with radial passages to generate a negative pressure region. Negative pressure is caused by the radial air flow by nozzle throat and through holes connecting to the bottom region. The numerical analysis deals with the levitational motion with different design factors. The dynamic motion is examined in terms of force balance(dynamic equilibrium) occurring to the flow field between two objects. The stable equilibrium position and the safe separation distance are determined by analyzing the local pressure distribution in the fluid motion. They make considerable design factors consisting the air pressure pick-up head. As a result, in case that the safe separation distance is beyond 0.7mm, the proposed pick-up head can levitate stably at the equilibrium position. Furthermore, it can provide little effect of torque, and obtain more wide picking region according to the head size.

  • Major crop prices have been raised significantly in recent years by COVID-19, the war in Ukraine, and weather-induced reductions in South American soybean production by unfavoured weather in 2022. Rising international crop prices are likely to destabilize food security in South Korea, which is highly dependent on foreign crops. This study analyzed the impact of soybean import price changes on the domestic soybean market and soybean food self-sufficiency rate from 2024 to 2029 using a dynamic partial equilibrium model. According to the scenario analysis results, if the import prices rise by 10% compared to the baseline, the soybean food self-sufficiency rate would increase by 1.33% in 2024, but it is expected to decrease to -0.58% in 2029 due to the continuous decrease in production. The results of this study are expected to be used as valuable information for policy authorities in establishing policies related to improving food self-sufficiency.

  • This paper examines the time series dynamics of spot and forward exchange rates and Eurocurrency deposit rates for four bilateral relationships vis a vis the U.S. dollar using daily data. The equilibrium implied by covered interest parity provides a theoretical foundation from which to estimate and analyze the dynamic properties of each system of exchange rates and interest rates. The structural statistical model is identified by relying on the implied cointegration vectors and long-run neutrality restrictions.

  • Global climate changes affect the local hydrologic cycle, and subsequently, require changes in water resource management strategies of Korea. Variations in precipitation and urbanization have adverse effects on the reasonable and efficient utilization of groundwater resources. Groundwater management strategies of Korea have been implemented based on the evaluation of "sustainable yield", which is calculated from the amount of annual recharge. However, this sustainable yield has no consideration of natural discharge and dynamic equilibrium of the groundwater system. Therefore, for the effective groundwater management strategies of the following decades, we need representative and reliable observations, and have to develop methods for the systematic analysis and interpretations of the data to draw valid information in linkage of natural and societal environmental changes.

  • We explored the dynamic motions and the lateral equilibrium positions of an elastic capsule in channel flow at moderate Reynolds number varying Re, aspect ratio, size ratio, membrane stretching and bending coefficient. The transition of tank-treading/swinging to tumbling motion was observed in the simulations and the transition of dynamic motions for capsules resulted in different trend of the variation in the lateral equilibrium positions. Though other conditions were similar, the capsule with tumbling motion migrated closer to the wall than that with tank-treading motion.

Stability of five layer sandwich beams - a nonlinear hypothesis

  • The paper is devoted to the stability analysis of a simply supported five layer sandwich beam. The beam consists of five layers: two metal faces, the metal foam core and two binding layers between faces and the core. The main goal is to elaborate a mathematical and numerical model of this beam. The beam is subjected to an axial compression. The nonlinear hypothesis of deformation of the cross section of the beam is formulated. Based on the Hamilton's principle the system of four stability equations is obtained. This system is approximately solved. Applying the Bubnov-Galerkin's method gives an ordinary differential equation of motion. The equation is then numerically processed. The equilibrium paths for a static and dynamic load are derived and the influence of the binding layers is considered. The main goal of the paper is an analytical description including the influence of binding layers on stability, especially on critical load, static and dynamic paths. Analytical solutions, in particular mathematical model are verified numerically and the results are compared with those obtained in experiments.

  • The above theorm states that much larger classes of differential games have an equilibrium. The most severe assumption is the second one. It requires that state dynamic equations be linear on his own control variables. But, the dynamic programming approach applied in the above is hardly implementable for the purpose of computation. It is very difficult to solve (SP$_{it}$) directly. Notice, however, the problem can be transformed into a Hamiltonian maximization problem which is easy to solve if initial conditions are given. In this way, it is possible to design a solution algorithm to problems with nonlinear constraints. The above two theorems probide a basis for such an algorithm.m.

  • The concept of resilience in complex and adaptive socio-economic systems, has been a buzz word in international societies and academies related to policy makers for sustainable development since some years ago. This paper deals with an application of the resilient concept, which has been told since the last some decades in the field of ecology and applied system sciences, to social science especially in system dynamics. First the author introduces the concept of equilibrium stability and resilience in simple dynamic models, and moreover provides the behavioral characteristics and examples of system resilience in terms of system dynamics. The concept of resilience in structural perspectives are also discussed with the topics of panarchy and adaptive renewal cycles, etc.

초기인장력과 평형형상을 고려한 인장구조물의 동적 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of Tension Structures according to Initial Tension Forces and Equilibrium Shape)

  • 초기인장력 변화에 따른 구조물의 동적거동은 초기인장력의 감소에 따라 기하학적 비선형성은 증가하고 고차모드의 영향이 지배적이고 phase portrait는 period attractor가 복잡한 양상으로 발생하였으며, 초기인장력의 증가에 따라 비선형 해석결과와 선형 해석결과의 차이는 감소하였고 1차모드가 지배적인 모드로 작용하고 phase portrait는 period attractor가 일정한 영역에서 규칙적으로 발생함을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 Lanczos 모드해석과 같이 모드축소법을 이용하는 비선형 동적해석에서 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있으며. 현실적으로 비선형 동적해석에 소요되는 시간과 노력이 매우 크다는 것을 감안할 때 초기인장력에 따라 모드축소법에 기여하는 모드를 결정하면 정확한 동적응답을 얻을 수 있다.
