IDEF0 is the IEEE standard for functional enterprise modeling and has been used for business process modeling or process mapping in US and Europe. But it does not reflect the potential benefits of modeling and simulation of the dynamic aspects of an enterprise or a system. On the other hand, simulation tools concentrate mostly on the simulation of material flows and are difficult to include information flows and control flows. Additionally, the simulation models that include elements such as queues, event generators and process nodes is a visual interactive representation for the model builder, but is inconvenient for the domain expert. In an attempt to fill that void, we provide an integration of business process and simulation models in this paper. An enhancement of the IDEF0, called parameterized IDEF0, is proposed and its conversion mechanism to network simulation model is developed. Using this methodology, business process models for alternative systems can be evaluated and compared through simulation on time, cost, and quality metrics. As an application of the proposed methodology, economic evaluation of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for time-based BPR (Business Process Redesign) is demonstrated. In addition to BPR, the developed methodology may be further integrated with ABC (Activity Based Costing), TQM (Total Quality Management), and economic evaluation of information systems.
Simultaneous equation models, increasingly used in many detailed analyses, tend to get larger and more sophisticated to describe the structure of the study area to be close to the actual situations. In setting up such a system of equations, statistical results and simulation performance of the model as a whole may be meaningless and unrepresentative of the real world due to a structural instability that is built into the model when the equations are combined and solved simultaneously. Even though the use and subsequent analysis of an unstable system are likely to mislead us, most of the studies that take the simultaneous equation approaches neglect such a serious problem. Thus it is necessary to illustrate how to check the stability problem and apply to the actual model, then investigate how such as analysis is able to provide useful information about the structural characteristics of the model from the dynamic viewpoint.
A program analysis of a large-scale open-source software repository has a significant meaning in that it allows us to examine the changes and improvements of the software in repositories, and this brings more reliable results based on a large amount of programs. In this paper, we introduce a new static analysis framework WALABOA, which enables a scalable static analysis of large-scale software repositories. In addition, we show new findings from applying WALABOA, together with a module comparing the analysis results from a static analysis and a dynamic analysis, in evaluation of the field-based analysis, one of JavaScript static analysis techniques used in WALA.
Compared with general rivers, fluctuations of the water level and the river bed are severe in the tidal river. In hydro-dynamic aspect, such fluctuation gives different river-bed data to us according to observing period. The time-dependent river-bed data and pre-estimation of the Manning's roughness coefficient which is the key factor of numerical modelling induces uncertainty of evaluating the design flood level. Thus it is necessary to pay more attention to calculate the flood level at tidal rivers than at general rivers. In this study, downstream of the Imjin River where is affected by tide of the West Sea selected as a study site. From the numerical modelling, it was shown that the unsteady simulation gave considerable mitigation of the water level from the starting point to 15 km upstream compared to the steady simulation. Either making a detention pond or optional dredging was not effective to mitigate the flood level at Gugok - Majung region where is located in the downstream of the Imjin River. Therefore, a more sophisticated approach is required to evaluate the design flood level estimation before constructive measures adopted in general rivers when establishing the flood control plan in a tidal river.

In case of repeated wheel-loads are acted on subbase course material, field test is generally executed to get the design standard, but the study shows dynamic properties of soils especially under repeated loads, which have not been well known to us. We try not only to obtain yield stress and elastic modulus of soil in terms of rheological model interpretation but also to investigate the influence of the repeated loads. Yield stress of soil induces hardening until approaching critical value along with the increase in number of cycle, whereas the change in modulus of elasticity with respect to the number of cycle greatly depends on the strength of repeated stress, if weak in strength of repeated stress, the modulus of elasticity increases along with the number of cycle, while if strong, it tends to decrease.

This paper has been presented the hydrodynamic effect by the journal speed, eccentricity and source positions in order to overcome the defects of air bearing such as low stiffness and damping coefficient. Choosing the two row source position of air bearing is different from existed investigations in the side of pressure distribution of air film because of the high speed of journal and the wedge effects by the eccentricity. These optimal chooses of the two row source positions enable us to improve the performance of the film reaction force and loading force as making the high speed spindle. In this paper, the pressure behavior in theory of air film according to the eccentricity of journal and the source positions analyzed. The theoretical analysis have been identified by experiments. The results of investigated characteristics may be applied to precision devices like ultra-precision grinding machine and ultra high speed milling.
The rotor design is fundamental to the performance and dynamic response of the Counter-rotating marine tidal current turbine. The wind industry has seen significant advancement single rotor blade technology, offering considerable knowledge and making it easy to transfer to tidal stream energy converters. In this paper, 3D flow and performance an alysis on a 100 kW counter-rotating marine current turbine blade was carried out by using the 3-D Navier-Stokes commercial solver(ANSYS CFX-11.0) to provide more efficient design techniques to design engineers. The front and rear rotor diameter is 8m and the rotating speed is 24.72rpm. Hexahedral meshing was generated by ICEM-CFD to achieve better quality of results. The rated power and its approaching stream velocity for design are 100 kW and 2 m/s respectively. The pressure distribution on the blade's suction side tells us that the pressure becomes low at the leading edge of the airfoil as it moves from the hub to the tip.

Fuel oil consumption cost varies depending on every ship operation and this roughly amounts to 70 % of shipping companies' total revenue. As such, efforts towards improved fuel economy are being pursued. An annual 1 % reduction in fuel consumption is perceived to result in saving tens million US dollars on the global fleet operation. One approach is the application of power take-off configurations which are seen to increase fuel oil economy and are suitable for power generation. In this study, the dynamic properties of a shaft generator coupled on a 10S90ME main engine of an 18 600 TEU container vessel is presented. The vibratory torque and angular velocity variation was examined through theoretical analysis and actual vibration measurement. The result of the study suggests a review on existing classification rules for generator design and the lowering of vibratory torque and angular velocity variation guideline.

Fully homomorphic encryption allows a third-party to perform arbitrary computation over encrypted data and is especially suitable for secure outsourced computation. This paper investigates secure outsourced computation of multiple matrix multiplication based on fully homomorphic encryption. Our work significantly improves the latest Mishra et al.'s work. We improve Mishra et al.'s matrix encoding method by introducing a column-order matrix encoding method which requires smaller parameter. This enables us to develop a binary multiplication method for multiple matrix multiplication, which multiplies pairwise two adjacent matrices in the tree structure instead of Mishra et al.'s sequential matrix multiplication from left to right. The binary multiplication method results in a logarithmic-depth circuit, thus is much more efficient than the sequential matrix multiplication method with linear-depth circuit. Experimental results show that for the product of ten 32×32 (64×64) square matrices our method takes only several thousand seconds while Mishra et al.'s method will take about tens of thousands of years which is astonishingly impractical. In addition, we further generalize our result from square matrix to non-square matrix. Experimental results show that the binary multiplication method and the classical dynamic programming method have a similar performance for ten non-square matrices multiplication.

In general, static firing test is conducted before flight in order to obtain data such as thrust. pressure, temperature and strain, which show the characteristics of rocket motors. But the measured thrust of the obtained data is especially distorted by the effects of dynamic characteristics of thrust stand so that it is difficult for us to determine the exact value of peak thrust and rising time etc., which represent the performance of rocket motor. This paper, therefore. verified the causes of distortion of measured thrust, and proposed the theoretical method to estimate the true thrust from the distorted thrust. And also the proposed method was applied to virtual thrust stand using computer simulation, and showed good result. As a result of that, the proposed method was proven to be valid and applicable to estimate distorted thrust.
