A Study of the Pre-Resistance Effects on the Optimization For Performance of the Ignition System with the Breaker Point Type (Breaker Point 型 점火裝置 性能 을 極大化하기 위한 Pre - Resistance 효果 에 對한 硏究)

  • One of factors that affect combustion in the cylinder of the engine is to keep a greater energy in the ignition system to minimize pollutant emissions and to increase its performance of the low temperature. This paper reviews theoretically the state and input variables of the ignition system from the state transition equation. Effects on characteristics of the system such as primary current, secondary available voltage and spark duration by reducing the pre-resistance from 3.5 to 0 ohm in 12V system is experimentally investigated when the ignition coil has a primary resistance of 1.5 ohms ad the dwell angle of the breaker point is 43.2 degrees (0.75 radian). Advantages and limitations for using the low resistance of the primary circuit are also presented to optimize the performance of the ignition system with the breaker point.

  • There is great difficulty in machine below 10 micrometers by conventional machining methods, such as micro-EDM. However, ultra micro machining using focused ion beam(FIB) is able to machine to 50 nanometers. Bie & moulds techniques are better than one-to-one machining techniques in regards to production costs in the mass production of ultra size structures. Also, it is advantageous to machine die & moulds to the 10 micrometers level by FIB technique rather than other techniques. It is difficult to machine the three dimensional machining, such as micro lens, using FIB system because of their machining characteristics. In this paper, three dimensional machining techniques were properly introduced, and also experiments showed effectiveness of their techniques.

  • This paper describes result of experiment of parameters affecting the micro hole drilling time, kind of assisting gas and it's pressure. The result reveals that parameter value of 0.08J, 20Hz, dwell time of 300 microseconds can be a good machining condition to make micro hole diameter range of 50-70${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, Assistant gas such air, O2, Ar, N2 was adapted. Assistant gas of air makes heat affected zone enlarge due to burning of material, also it makes hole irregular and damage because of refusion stick to caused by chemical reaction with Al2O3 ceramic material. O2(99.9%) has good characteristic to get good drilling and smooth surface on pressure of 0.2kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, but it is expensive. Ar, N2 makes material burn and crack severely and proved to be an appropriate but, Ar was better than N2.

  • Nano pattern is being utilized to produce micro optical components, sensors, and information storage devices. In this study, a study on nano pattern fabrication using raster-scan type Focused Ion Beam (FIB) milling is introduced. Because the intensity of ion beam has Gaussian distribution, the overlapping of the Gaussian beam results in a 3D pattern, and the shape of the pattern can be adjusted by variation of FIB milling parameters, such as overlap, ion dose, and dwell time. The Gaussian shape of single beam intensity has been investigated by experiment, and 3D nano patterns with pitch of 200nm generated by FIB is demonstrated.

  • Cam mechanisms are one of the most popular devices for generating intermittent motion and are widely used in many areas. Also, as being interested in research of precision field, cam mechanism is required high accuracy and continuity, In. In this paper, the cam mechanism of filament automatic assembly machine design for precision motion is proposed. The modelling of a cam mechanism, cam profile functions, and the design of the cam considering the precision positioning of the cam mechanism is studied. And, simulation of designed cam mechanism had been carried out dynamic analysis.

  • The application of focused ion beam(FIB) technology has been broadened in the fabrication of nanoscale regime. The extended application of FIB is dependent on complicated reciprocal relation of operating parameters. It is necessary for successful and efficient modifications on the surface of silicon substrate. The primary effect by Gaussian beam intensity is significantly shown from various aperture size, accelerating voltage, and beam current. Also, the secondary effect of other process factors - dwell time, pixel interval, scan mode, and pattern size has affected to etching results. For the process analysis, influence of the secondary factors on FIB micromilling process is examined with respect to sputtering depth during the milling process in silicon material. The results are analyzed by the ratio of signal to noise obtained using design of experiment in each parameter.

  • Rurban house is the place to satisfy man's the most basic desires to live and dwell. In this study , the composing Type of the outer space and its connection with the innerspace are researched. And also it investigated how various environmental factors are reflected in the rurban housing development. As Louis Kahn said, "Archiecture is the thoughtful for-mation the space and the endless transformation of architec-ture is derived from the change of space idea." In the recent days, It is true that the qualitative aspect of a rurban house rather than the quantitative one has empha-sized. As man cannot make a living when seperated from the nature, the currents of life in the rurban house should be flowed into the new environmental change.

Prediction of Sediment-Bound Metal Bioavailability in Benthic Organisms: Acid Volatile Sulfide (AVS) Approaches

  • Benthic organisms dwell in sediment-water interface that contains significant amount of organic and inorganic contaminants. Their feeding behavior is highly related with sediment itself and pore water in the sediments, especially in ease of deposit feeder (i.e. polychaete, amphipod). The acid volatile sulfide (AVS) is one of the important binding phases of sediment-bound metals in addition to organic matter and Fe and Mn oxide fractions in sediments, particularly in anoxic sediments. The AVS model is a powerful tool to predict metal bioavailability and bioaccumulation in benthic organisms considering SEM/AVS mole ratios in surficial sediments. However, several biogeochemical factors must be considered to use AVS model in the sediment-bound metal bioavailability.

  • This study is on the spacial flexbility of house. In the recent days, it is true that the qualitative aspect of residence rather than the quantitative one has emphasized. But the inhabitants of residence undergo adaptation problems to deal with changing needs constantly. Residence must be the place to satisfy inhabitant's desire to live and dwell. According to changes in family life cylce and personal demand, the flexibility in housing should be beneficial. This study attempts to solve relationships of these need changes and inhabitant's adaptation through the spatial flexibility. Throughout the process of main discourse, some theoretical backgrounds of housing are applied. And to introduce the flexibility of residential space, concepts of flexibility according to 'time' and 'spatial structure' are employed. In addition to functionality and comfort, living should provide a touch of humanity attuned to individual sensibilities. The purpose of this study is to suggest a method can move interior structure by the flexible planning.

  • Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) drive system is known to provide good torque characteristics and high efficiency drive. However, speed variation caused by higher torque ripple is one of main drawback. The Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) technique in conjunction with dynamic dwell angle control has good speed regulation characteristics. In this paper, appropriate advance angle control for high efficiency drive and PLL technique for accurate speed control is proposed. A TMS320F240 DSP is used to realize this drive system. Test results show that the system has good dynamic and precise speed control ability as well as high efficiency.
