Abrasion Characteristics of Seaside Armor Stones of Seadike -Focused on Saemangeum Seadike- (방조제 해측피복석의 마모특성분석 -새만금방조제를 중심으로-)

  • The results of Saemangeum seadike field inspection and material testing of armor stones in order to analyze causes of abrasion according to material characteristics of seaside armor stones in Saemangeum seadike are in the following: 1. The armor stones in Saemangeum seadike have been constructed by using internal stones (mainly, sinsi stones) and external stones, which had less strength (77.3 %) and more abrasion rate (133.3 %) compared with sinsi stones. 2. The compressive strength and abrasion rate were compared between ordinary wave section and high wave section for the purpose of analyzing the influence of waves. In compressive strength, sinsi stones were 4.0 % stronger and external stones were 0.6 % stronger in ordinary wave section than those of high wave section in average. In the case of abrasion rate, sinsi stones were 3.0 % higher and external stones were 8.2 % higher in the high wave section than those in the ordinary section. 3. The result of comparing compressive strength according to a zone is that the compressive strength in the Intertidal area was less strong in most of the zones. 4. Considering that deviated stones are moving around over the surface of armor stones in situ, it is important to compare material characteristics. So the comparison test about this factor showed that deviated sinsi stones were stronger than armor stones in situ in terms of compressive strength and resistance to abrasion. Based on these results, abraded armor stones may have resulted from their durability. Therefore it is assumed that armor stones are likely to be abraded when deviated stones which are more durable are moving around over armor stones which are less durable.

A study on the Purchase Appraisal Standard and Post-purchase Satisfaction of Natural Dyeing Products (천연염색제품 구매 평가기준 및 구매 후 만족도)

  • The purpose of this study was to find purchase appraisal standard and post-purchase satisfaction for natural dyeing products. The data used for this study were collected from the women in their from 20's to 50's who are living in the regions of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam in Korea. The questionnaire of 537 copies was used for a statistical analysis. To analyze data, 2-test, t-test, Cronbach's a test, factor analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test, regression analysis, etc. were carried out. A used statistical package was SPSS 14.0. The analysis results were as follows. The purchase appraisal standards for natural dyeing products were identified as practicality and reliability, suitability of use, symbolic property of status, design property, and convenience of buying. As the analysis result for purchase appraisal standard according to the demographic characteristics, the purchase appraisal standard according to most demographic characteristics showed significant difference. The factors of post-purchase satisfaction for natural dyeing products were verified as product modification and durability, design and price, hygienic property and product quality. As the analysis results of post-purchase satisfaction for natural dyeing products according to demographic characteristics, the post-purchase satisfaction according to demographic characteristics showed significant difference. The factors affecting post-purchase satisfaction were verified as product quality, kinds of item, color change, product lifespan, color change, etc. Consequently, because the purchase appraisal standard of natural dyeing product is very various, it is necessary to enhance post-purchase satisfaction of natural dyeing products by reflecting these factors in advance at the product development stage.

  • If FRP materials that have been known as high durability materials are exposed to harmful environmental factors, deterioration and characteristics of materials can be reduced due to chemical reaction such as hydrolysis. Therefore, to use FRP materials as building major materials, it is important to exactly grasp dynamic properties by use condition. Accordingly, this study stored FRP materials in a strong acid and alkali compound solution for a certain period to conduct simulation for acute or chronic, extreme changes by chemicals, and conducted a test for compressive, tensile, shear and bending strength to analyze changes in strength by kinds and storage days of chemicals. In conclusion, the study findings indicate excellent chemical resistance of FRP materials.

  • The domestic reinforcement concrete works have mainly worked the process of re-bar fabrication/assembly on site and re-bar works affected by structural safety, durability, and schedule with form work. Accordingly, This study analyzes the process of re-bar fabrication/assembly on site to apply lean production principles to construction Value Stream Analysis(VSA) is analyzed into value-adding activity and non-value-adding activity on construction process through value analysis and Value Stream Mapping(VSM). In the results, non-value-adding activity generates waste such as the activity steps, labors, equipments, materials, time, and so on. Additionally, push-driven production is investigated making low productivity from the overproduction and so on. To resolve the problems in the process, The purpose of this paper eliminates waste factor through maximizing the value-adding activity generating value added and minimizing non-value adding activity. Particularly, it makes flow production and pull-driven production through minimizing work-in-process(WIP ).

  • Purpose: This study would measure the users'perceived overall quality level of A automobile Company, which has leading market power in the domestic automobile market and analyze the causal relationships in the quality value process Model to quality capability, customer value and loyalty based on that. Especially, this study would analyze the relative impacts of the users'perceived risks appearing in the quality value process model of the formation of Quality Factors(QF), Customer Value(CV), and Customer Loyalty(CL) and analyze the moderating effect of the causal relationships among the components. Methods: For an analysis of causal relationships connected to QF, CV, and CL of the customers who purchased Auto manufacturer A's automobile users, 179 users who used within 3 years were utilized as samples for the analysis. As for QF, based on the Garvin(1988), the QF of automobiles were redesigned. For a structural equation analysis of the entire research model, the PLS(S(Partial Least Square) model was utilized. Results: As a result of an analysis, R2 of CV and CL was 0.652 for CV and 0.664 for CL, which was a very stable Goodness of fit. As a result of an analysis of the hypotheses of QF and CV, automobile performance, conformance, aesthetics, serviceability, and durability. In addition, it turned out that the perceived risk had a moderating effect on convenience, service availability, and perceived quality. Conclusion: This study found that the perceived quality risk appearing among automobile users had negative effects on the quality value process model to QF, CV and CL. In contrast, there were factors not affecting the users'quality value process in spite of the perceived risk. These factors can suggest important managerial implications in that they can be utilized as Auto manufacturer A's market-dominant strengths.

  • Although PV module manufacturing and its structure are simple, the semi-permanent products can be used out doors for more than twenty years. Therefore it is need to choose proper materials and optimize manufacturing process.   • This research has dual purposes. First, it was designed to determine the level of children's spatial environment in the residences, thereby, to make a vision for children's furniture as an industrial design product. Second, it was intened to find out the children's perceptual pattern toward the furniture, thereby to give some implications for future design development. For the second purpose, descriptors were screened with construct validity and their factor structure was identified. The subjects were 1,197 children from 1st grade of elemantary school through 3rd grade of middle school, and their 1,197 parents for the first purpose, and 560 children from 6th grades of elemantary school and 3rd grade of middle school for the second purpose. The first parts of findings were 1) present interests of parents of household above middle income level in Seoul in making their children's spatial environment desirable is quite high. 2) Space segregation stage in terms of physical and conceptual aspects showed very fast development, that is, there will have been very good changes for children's room to be a very well furnished and independent space for them. 3) Children's opinions were quite well reflected when purchasing the present furniture, and this tendency seemed to be more likely happend in future. These findings mentioned above gave and confirmed the visions for future children's furnished environment. The second parts of findings were such that the perceptual pattern for furniture by children showed aesthetic design appearance, functionality and durability, and the characteristic of line. This result impliated especially that designers should be every careful to manipulate or use the line of the furniture products. The 22 representative descriptors selected can be used as an evaluation instrument for furniture products.

  • The equation, specified in current bridge design code, for calculating the confining transverse reinforcement amount of RC bridge columns has been made to provide additional load-carrying strength for concentrically loaded columns equal to or slightly greater than the strength lost when the cover concrete spalls off. However, this equation does not directly consider ductile behavior, which is an important factor for the seismic behavior of bridge columns. Consequently, if the section area is relatively small or if the section area ratio becomes excessively large due to the concrete cover thickness increased for durability, too large an amount of transverse reinforcement, which could deteriorate the constructability and economy of piers, will be required. This study intends to analyze what effects the concrete cover thickness has on the equation for determining the confining transverse reinforcement amount.

  • In this paper, a series of experiments was conducted to evaluate the resistibility of carbonation and freeze-thawing damage of the high-volume blast furnace slag concrete using expancel, the expandable microsphere, and ERCO, emulsified refine cooking oil. The concrete mixture of 0.45 water-to-binder ratio with 60% of blast furnace slag was evaluated for carbonation, freeze-thawing resistibility, SEM, and porosity. According to the previous research, replacing ERCO contributes on improving carbonation resistibility with capillary pore filling effect by soap foaming reaction of ERCO while significantly decreased freeze-thawing resistibility. To improve this decreased freeze-thawing resistibility, expancel was used, and thus freeze-thawing resistibility was improved as the replacement ratio of expancel was increased. It is considered that the selective volume shrunken effect of expancel due to the external pressure and decreased air void spacing factor due to expancel.

Effects of Fillers on Fatigue Crack Growth Rate of Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (충전제가 EPDM의 피로균열 성장속도에 미치는 영향)

  • Crack growth characteristics of elastomeric materials are an important factor determining the strength and durability. In this study, the fatigue crack growth characteristic of filled EPDM compounds with different reinforcing fillers, such as silica and carbon black, was investigated using a newly designed tester. Frequency and test temperature had significant effects on the fatigue crack growth. The crack growth rate decreased with increasing frequency and the rate increased with increasing temperature. A power law relationship between the tearing energy and crack growth was observed for filled EPDM compounds. The crack growth rate reduced with increasing filler contents. Silica filled EPDM showed a better fatigue resistance than carbon black filled EPDM. The crack growth rate of silica filled EPDM decreased up to 30 phr and increased again at 50 phr. The formation of microductile type pits was observed on the fatigue-failure surface of unfilled EPDM, and relatively coarse surface with randomly distributed tear lines was observed on the failure surface of silica filled EPDM.
