In this paper, the numerical results using the Mohr-Coulomb and the Duncan-Chang models, on the stresses and strains of a tunnel under a deep open-cut site and the surrounding ground, were compared with each other. The Mohr-Coulomb model produced larger values than the Duncan-Chang model in stress and displacement of tunnel and ground.
Duncan & Chang(1970) proposed the Duncan-Chang model that a linear relation of transformed stress-strain plots was reconstituted from a nonlinear relation of stress-strain curve of triaxial compression test using hyperbolic theory so as to estimate an initial tangent modulus and ultimate deviator stress for the soil specimen. Although the transformed stress-strain plots show a linear relationship theoretically, they actually show a nonlinearity at both low and high values of strain of the test. This phenomenon indicates that the stress-strain curve is not a complete form of a hyperbola. So, if linear regression analyses for the transformed stress-strain plot are performed over a full range of strain of a test, error in the estimation of their linear equations is unavoidable depending on ranges of strain with non-linearity. In order to reduce such an error, a modified regression analysis method is proposed in this study, in which linear regression analyses for transformed stress-strain plots are performed over the entire range of strain except the range the non-linearity is shown around starting and ending of the test, and then the initial tangent modulus and ultimate deviator stresses are calculated. Isotropically consolidated-drained triaxial compression tests were performed on compacted weathered soil with a modified Proctor density to obtain their model parameters. The modified regression analyses for transformed stress-strain plots were performed and analyzed results are compared with results estimated by 2 points method (Duncan et al., 1980). As a result of analyses, initial tangent moduli are about 4.0% higher and ultimate deviator stresses are about 2.9% lower than those values estimated by Duncan's 2 points method.
There were many ground excavation projects from past to present to make effective use of the limited land. And it is very important to predict the ground behavior depending on construction stage for ground excavation. Excavation of the ground involves changes in the stress and displacement of the ground around the excavated surface. Thus it affects the stability of the adjacent structure as well as the excavated surface. Therefore, it is very important to predict the ground behavior and stability of adjacent structure. And nowadays, numerical analysis methods are most often used to predict the effects of ground excavation. Recent, improvements of numerical analysis programs, along with improved computer performance, have helped solve complicated ground problems. However, except some specialized numerical analysis, most numerical analysis often predicts larger excavation floor displacement than field data due to adopt the Mohr-Coulomb analysis model. As a result, it raise the problem that increasing the amount of support on ground and structure. In this study, ground behavior analysis depending on analysis model (Mohr-Coulomb, Duncan-Chang, Modified Mohr-Coulomb and Hardening Soil model) has been carried out through the numerical analysis. When numerical analysis is carried out, this study is expected to be used as a basic data for adopting a suitable analysis model in various ground excavation project.

The behavior of the 3 hinged precast arch structure was investigated by comparing field measurements with numerical analyses performed for precast lining arch structures, which are widely used for the open-cut tunnel. According to the field measurements, the maximum vertical displacement occurred at the crown with upward displacements during the backfilling up to the crown of the arch and downward displacements at the backfill height above the crown. The final crown displacement was 19 mm upward from the original position. The horizontal displacement at the sidewall, which had a maximum horizontal displacement, occurred inward of the arch when compacting the backfill up to the crown and returned to the original position after completing the backfill construction. According to the analysis of displacement measurements, economical design is expected to be possible for precast arch structures compared to rigid concrete structures due to ground-structure interactions. Duncan model gave good results for the estimation of displacements and deformed shape of the tunnel according to the numerical analyses comparing with field measurements. The earth pressure coefficients calculated from the numerical analyses were 0.4 and 0.7 for the left and the right side of the tunnel respectively, which are agreed well with the eccentric load acting on the tunnel due to topographical condition and actual field measurements.
This paper proposes the force equations(thrust, moment) of corrugated steel culverts through the finite element method. The conditions for maximum thrust and maximum moment are determined from the analysis of soil-structure interaction during the three construction stages, such as backfill to the crown, backfill to the soil cover, and live loads. The proposed form of thrust and moment equations are deduced from the analysis of behaviour and the application of Castigliano's second theorem for the semi-arch structure. Finally, the coefficients used in the proposed equations are determined from a large number of analysis for the various geometries and the soil-structure relative stiffness under the conditions of maximum thrust and maximum moment.
The purpose of his study was to investigate the effectiveness on clothing advertisement of three types of model, perception of model attributes by the clothing consumers, and difference in advertisement effectiveness according to perception of model attributes. Three types of advertisements for easy casual brand were selected, which are using celebrity, expert and general consumer models. The final analysis included 304 persons, who ranged from 16 to 25 in age. The statistics used analysis include ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, factor analysis and regression by the SPSS program. The result were as follow:1. The celebrity advertisement was the most effective type on all kinds of attitude changes (cognitive, emotional, and behavioral attitude changes) of consumers.2. The celebrity model received high scores on attractiveness and truthfulness; and the general consumer model received high scores on truthfulness and similarity.3. The amount of consumers attitude changes was different according to the perceptions of model attributes as well as the types of model.
To investigate the engineering characteristics of crushed rockfill material, the large-scaled triaxial tests have been carried out, The rpckfill is made from the greywacke, and the 3 parallel gradations with different maximum particle size(dmu=38.1mm, 25.4mm and 19.1mm) were designed for the test. The dimension of the specimen is 300mm in diameter and 600mm in height, and the applied confining stress varied from 5t/$51.6^{\circ}$ to 60t/$51.6^{\circ}$. The test results show that the influence of the maximum particle size on the stress -strain r$51.6^{\circ}\; to\; 40.5^{\circ}$ when the confining stress increases from 5t/$51.6^{\circ}$ to 60t/$51.6^{\circ}$ The hyperbolic parameter values estimated from the test result for rockfill are much different from the recommended values by Duncan et. at(1980) for GW and GP material, especially in the $\phi$ ad K-values.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current development of Quick Response (QR) system and to identify factors related to QR adoption. A random sample of 250 apparel manufactures were selected from the Korean apparel manufacturers' list Response rate was 41% (m=102) A mail questionnaire was used to investigate the purpose of the study. ANOVAs and Duncan's multiple range tests were used. The results are as follows: 1. The most frequently used technologies were small lot orders and CAD and the least used technology is the electronic order system, 2. Firm size product characteristics(product category fashion change) and CEO's age were significantly related to the usage level of QR technologies.

This study was conducted to estimate volume growth rates for major Quercus species distributed in Korea, and based on the data collected from the 5th National Forest Inventory. Volume growth rates were estimated by each age class for each species, and their similarity or distinction was statistically analyzed. It was also intended to compare the resulted volume growth rates with the existing growth rates, and to develope a volume growth rate estimation model for the Quercus species. Six major Quercus species were considered in this study; Quercus acutissima, Quercus aliena, Quercus serrata, Quercus variabilis, Quercus dentata, and Quercus mongolica. Based on the data collected from the 5th National Forest Inventory, the diameter growth rates and the height growth rates were estimated for each species, and then the volume growth rates were estimated with the given diameter and height growth rates. To examine the distinction between species or age classes, statistical analyses such as ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test were applied. The results indicated that the volume growth rate was 10% in the age class II, 6% in the age class III, and lower in the subsequent classes. In addition, the volume growth rates of Quercus acutissima, Quercus aliena, and Quercus serrata were relatively high compared to those of Quercus variabilis, Quercus dentata, and Quercus mongolica. According to their growth rates, the six Quercus species were classified into two groups; high-growth-rate group and low-growth-rate group. Statistical analysis conducted to examine the difference between and within the groups showed that there is no significant difference within groups, while significant between groups. Based on the results, volume growth rate estimation model were finally developed for each group. The classification of the Quercus species suggested in this study was not the same with that of existing volume growth estimation. Thus, it is necessary to improve the existing volume growth rate or its estimation system.
The purpose of this paper is to assert the necessity of social health as a solution to resolve social issues of the aged in the nearing aged society, and to assess the effects that the social health of the aged has on their quality of life. In doing so, the study gathered as its study subjects those aged persons who participate in social activities among persons aged 65 or older who reside in Euiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do. A total of 157 subject studies were used for the final analysis. An analysis of frequency, t-Test and one-way ANOVA, Duncan post-test, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis was conducted by using the IBM SPSS 21.0. The main study findings are as follows. with respect to the correlation between socio-demographic factors and social health, economic level, subjective level of health and social health showed a positive correlation. Domiciliary treatment level and subjective level of health showed a negative correlation with economic level and social health, respectively. with respect to the effects of social health on quality of life, in the case of model 1 which only input factors of socio-demographical characteristics, the variance explanation power was found to be 38.2% and the regression model was found to be significant (F=13.141, p<.001). In the case of model 2 which input factors of socio-demographical characteristics and social health, the variance explanation power was found to be 13.8% and the regression model was found to be significant (F=20.057, p<.001). Based on such study results, this study recommends a number of proposals.
