The liquid phase LPG injection (LPLI) system (the third generation technology) has been considered as one of the next generation fuel supply systems for LPG vehicles, since it has a very strong potential to accomplish the higher power, higher efficiency, and lower emission characteristics than the mixer type(the second generation technology) fuel supply system However. when a liquid LPG fuel is injected into the inlet duct of an engine, a large quantity of heat is extracted due to evaporation of fuel. This leads to freezing of the moisture in the air around the outlet of a nozzle, which is called icing phenomenon. It may cause damage to the outlet nozzle of an injector or inlet valve seat. In this work, the experimental investigation of the icing phenomenon was carried out The results showed that the icing phenomenon and process were mainly affected by humidity of inlet air instead of air temperature in the inlet duel. Also, it was observed that the total ice formed around the nozzle weighs at about $150mg{\sim}260mg$ after injection for ten minutes. And some fuel species were found in the ice attached at the front side of a nozzle, while frozen ice attached at the back of a nozzle was mostly' consisted of moisture of inlet air. Therefore, some frozen ice deposit. detached from front nozzle of an injector, may cause a problem of unfavorable air fuel ratio control in the small LPLI engine.

In South Korea, smoke control systems are designed according to the fire safety standards NFSC501 and NFSC 501A. However, there is a problem in that the design values are incompatible when measuring the performance of the system after the design construction for calculating the leakage crack area described in the standards. Therefore, we compared the standards for smoke control systems from South Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom. In South Korea, designs are conducted uniformly according to the NFSC 501A Manual, but in Japan and the United Kingdom, designs consider smoke temperature, duct loss, and fire floor air supply. Furthermore, they use larger values than in South Korea.

Computational assessment of gas-dynamic characteristics is explored for a three-dimensional counter-flow thrust vector control system in a rectangular supersonic nozzle. This convergent-divergent nozzle is designed by Method of Characteristics and its design Mach number is specially set as 2.5. Performance variations of the counter-flow vector system are illustrated by varying the gap height of the secondary flow duct. Key parameters are quantitatively analyzed, such as static pressure distribution along the centerline of the upper suction collar, deflection angle, secondary mass flow ratio, and resultant thrust coefficient. Additionally, the streamline on the symmetry plane, three-dimensional iso-Mach number surface contour, and three-dimensional turbulent kinetic energy contour are presented to reveal overall flow-field characteristics in detail.
Leucosia anatum, also known as the pebble crab, is a species of crab that belongs to the family Leucosiidae. Crabs are the most conspicuous and abundant components of the epibenthic macrofauna of the mangrove ecosystems. The present investigation was carried out with the objective of enlightening the reproductive system of L.anatum through histological and histochemical studies. Histological analysis of the epithelial cells of vas deferens, the luminal size and shape of the vas deferens was carried out, since the spermatophore material is secreted and molded by the vas deferens. Histochemical analysis of the blood plasma, testis, proximal vas deferens, middle vas deferens, distal vas deferens, seminal plasma and spermatophore was done to reveal the possible transformation of their secretory materials into the spermatophoric components. Biochemical components present in the blood plasma, testis, proximal vas deferens (PVD), median vas deferens (MVD) and distal vas deferens (DVD) regions seminal plasma and spermatophore of pebble crab were analyzed to find out the quantity of free sugars, proteins, and fats. Thus the current study focuses on the histological and histochemical analysis of Testis and Vas Deferens and their secretions in L.anatum.
The lymphatic system provides a route for the spread of inflammation and malignancies. The identification of nodal stations and lymphatic pathways of tumor spread is important for tumor staging, choice of therapy, and the prediction of the prognosis of patients with malignant diseases. Because lymph node metastasis is common in primary intra-abdominal malignant tumors, its detection is essential for radiologists to understand the pattern of disease spread. Using schematic pictures and color-coded CT images, this pictorial essay describes the locations and nomenclature of the abdominal lymph nodes. Furthermore, the lymphatic drainage pathways of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts, liver, gallbladder, bile duct, and pancreas have been highlighted. In addition, lymph nodes belonging to the regional lymph nodes in malignant tumors arising from each organ are described, and certain cases are presented with images from patients.
The goal of this study was to develop a suitable ventilation system for high-rise hog building (HRHB) for growing-fattening with combined slatted floor pen in second story and in situ manure management system in Korea. The HRHB was constructed as 29m long, 9m wide and 7.6m high for outer dimension with an indoor height of 3.1m and 2.4 for lower and upper floor, respectively. Ventilation systems for each treatment were installed in separated rooms of HRHB. The ventilation types installed in each room were following 3 types: ventilation type 1 (V1), where air was pulled through a circular duct inlet and exhausted by fans; ventilation type 2 (V2), where air was pulled through eave inlet (side ceiling inlet) and exhausted by fans; and ventilation type 3 (V3), where air was pulled through baffled ceiling inlet and exhausted by fans. For each ventilation system, investigated air velocity under minimum, medium and maximum ventilation ratio and air flow pattern inside. The results were as follows; For air flow pattern from top to bottom, V1 showed a homogeneous vertical type, V2 showed a bilateral symmetry type and V3 showed an vertical umbrella type. Under minimum ventilation ratio, air velocity in upper floor (80cm above the slated floor) was similar for V1, V2, and V3. Under maximum ventilation ratio, air velocity in upper floor was undeviating for V1 (0.10~0.26m/s) and varied for V2 (0.12~0.63m/s) while those for V3 was relatively slow and less varied (0.07~0.15m/s). In conclusion, Duct inlet type (V1) can be applied to the development of a new HRHB with additional evaluations such as field test hog feeding.

This study was carried out to develop a method of grain drying ststem that can be done by forcing the heated-air directly into the grains within the sack. The air duct was pushed into the central position of the grain-deposited sack and the heated-air was forced to flow in the radial direction. The system is referred here as the unit sack drying system. At a first step of this study, an air flow resistance tester was constructed to measure the resistance of air flow to grains in cooperated with some different sack materials, the sack materials, the tested were rice-straw bag, sack of polyethylene film, and jute sack In addition, unit sack drying system was constructed to investigate the drying characteristics of the dryer. on this dryer, two kind of terminal air ducts were attached and tested to examine its effects on uniform drying, and also, aseries of drying test was performed to trace the effect of increasing air flow rate on uniform drying. The results are as follows: 1) Resistance of air flow for each sack material was increased almost proportional to the increasing rate of air flow. Experimental data showed little significant differences of the air flow resistance among the materials. 2) From the comparison with air flow resistance of sack material and that of roughrice, it was indicated that airflow resistance of sack material was much higher than that of rice rough Therefore, in the unit sack drying sysle in which air flow is destined to face the sach material after leaving the grain, it was suggested that air flow would be inuniform to each part of grain within sack because of much higher air flow resistance of sack material than that of grain, and the fact would results inuniform grain drying. 3) Drying test on the unit sack drying system in cooperated with different type of terminal air ducts showed that high speed air is better for uniform drying than in high pressure. with the drying system which was assembled with the air ducts delivering higher speed air, there also involved a problem of significant inuniform drying. Therefore, any means to improve the inuniform drying should be undertaken for practical use. 4) A series of drying test with in creasing air flow rate resulted that increasing air flow rate in the unitsack drying system gave little effect on uniform drying, therefore, it is recommened to change its drying system for drying grain uniformly.

The Solar Energy R&D Department of KIER under the auspice of the Korean government is pushing hard on the development of the passive solar technology with high priority for the expeditious widespread use of solar energy in Korea, since the past few years of experiences told us that the active solar technology is not yet ready for massive commercialization in Korea. KIER has completed the construction of the Solar Energy Research & Test Center in Seoul, which houses the major facilities for its all solar test programs. The Center was designed as a passive solar building with great emphasis on the energy conserving ideas. The Center is not only the largest passive building in Korea, but also the exhibit center for the effective demonstration of the passive heating and cooling technology to the Korean public. The Center was designed to satisfy the requirements based on the technical and economical criteria set by the KIER. Careful considerations, therefore, were given in depth in the following areas to meet the requirements. 1) Passive Heating Concepts The Center employed the combination of direct and indirect gain system. The shape of the Center is Balcomb House style, and it included a large built-in sunspace in front. A partition, consists of transparent and translucent glazings, separates the sunspace and the living space. Since most activities in the Center occur during the day time, direct utilization of the solar energy by the living spaces was emphasized with the limited energy storage capacity. 2) Passive Cooling Concepts(for Summer) Natural ventilation concept was utilized throughout the building. In the direct gain portion of the system, the front glazing can be openable during the cooling season. Natural convection scheme was also applied to the front sunspace for the Summer cooling. Reflective surfaces and curtains were utilized wherever needed. 3) Auxiliary Heat ing and Cooling System As an auxiliary cooling system, mechanical means(forced convection system) were adopted. Therefore forced air heating system was also used to match the duct work requirements of the auxiliary cool ing system. 4) Effect ive Insulation & Others These included the double glazed windows, the double entry doors, the night glazing insulation, the front glazing-frame insulation as well as the building skin insulation. All locally available construction materials were used, and natural lightings were provided as much as possible. The expected annual energy savings (compared to the non-insulated conventional building)of the Center was estimated to be about 80%, which accounts for both the energy conservation and the solar energy source. The Center is being instumented for the actual performance tests. The experimental results of the simplified tests are discussed in this paper.

In this paper, in order to exclude the expansion of M/W relay frequency or its new frequency assignment possibly, we analyzed a possibility of substituting M/W system by B-WLL or optical fiber network regarding service quality and economical points. To define the target of service quality, pre-condition and analysis method for the selected media have been derived to compare each other. E1 transmission with BER 10$^{-1}$ was chosen as a reference capacity, and service distance was calculated f3r the selected media as a function of availability. Also from the economical point we considered 3 systems such as optical fiber, M/W, and B-WLL based upon basic system structure, and analyzed them for various line configurations of fiber optic and B-WLL according to service period, system capacity, transmission distance, and data rate. It was confirmed that B-WLL can provide quality of service with 99.999 % availability within 1.6 km cell radius, and for optical fiber substitution, the leased fiber conduit on an electric pole is more economical than M/W system irrespective of service period, but in case of directly digging for underground conduit, it turned out ineffective regardless of cabling duct types.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of ventilating system of environmental controlled broiler house on broiler production. Three hundred eighty four broiler chicks (Hubbard, mean live weight of $44.5{\pm}2.0g/bird$) were reared for 2 wk. The results of the present study were summarized as follows : 1. Ammonia gas production was lower in the second and the third floors of cages compared with first floor of cages 13.5 and 13.5 vs 14.6 ppm, respectively). The observations of ammonia production in the morning and afternoon were similar. The production of carbon dioxide was not different between morning and afternoon, but it was tended to decrease in the forth floor of cages due to a fresh air 2. A wind velocity in the enclosed house was similar across lower, middle and upper section (0.57m/sec, 0.22m/sec and 0.04msec, respectively). In order to maintain an optimal air flow velocity in the cages, the duct entrance was punched, and then the air flow was full-round in the overall space in the cage. 3. Daily liveweight gain, feed intakes, and feed efficiency were not significant differences among treatments during whole experimental period (P>0.05). Therefore, the present results showed that temperature, moisture and atmosphere controlling were desirable, and air flew evenly in the cage.
