  • In this paper, the small chip meander antenna for dual-frequency operation is presented. The proposed chip meander antennas was fabricated by the ceramic chip using LTCC-MLC process. It is a novel compact dual-frequency design using a meandered patch that achieves more degrees of freedom for adjusting dual-frequency operation and the size reduction with narrow frequency ratio. And it is proposed that the 3D structure for additional size reduction of the meander antenna. The size reduction of the 3D meander antenna is as large as 50 % as compared to the design for dual-frequency operation not using 3D structure. It is observed that the principle of dual-frequency operation through current distribution, return loss and radiation pattern.

  • In this paper, a dual-band high frequency (HF) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna is presented that operates in the 13.56 MHz band as well as in the 920 MHz band. A spiral coil along the edges of the antenna substrate is designed to handle the HF band, and a novel meander open complementary split ring resonator (MOCSRR) dipole antenna is utilized to generate the UHF band. The dual-band antenna is supported by a single-feeding port for mono-chip RFID applications. The antenna is fabricated using an FR4 substrate to verify theoretical and simulation designs, and it has compact dimensions of $80mm{\times}40mm{\times}0.8mm$. The proposed antenna also has an omnidirectional characteristic with a gain of approximately 1 dBi.

  • A novel dual-frequency microstrip printed-dipole antenna operating at 5 GHz and 10 GHz is presented. This antenna is designed for wireless and mobile communication. The balance step coplanar strip is used to be a transmission line at the center of dipole with matching impedance at 50 ohm. Using the conductor strip align on the other side of antenna and adjust the width of step coplanar strip line to improved input impedance matching. By modification for matching impedance of dual frequency antenna are not affected to the radiation patterns. The Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) technique is applying to analyze the basic characteristic properties such as $S_{11}$ , input impedance , VSWR and radiation patterns. And these parameters are discussed. The analyze problem space are $51{\times}197{\times}175$ cells and cell dimension are ${\Delta}x=0.3\;mm$ and ${\Delta}y={\Delta}z=0.15\;mm$.

  • A novel differential dual-frequency antenna using proximity coupling is proposed. Dual bands are realized by a slot in the ground plane. The lower resonant frequency is controlled by the slot in the ground plane, and the upper resonant frequency is mainly determined by the dimensions of the radiating patch. Measured results show that the proposed antenna can operate at 2.51 GHz and 5.38 GHz.

  • In this paper, a dual band H-shaped microstrip patch antenna is designed for RFID application. Using shorting pin and H shaped for dual resonators and control dual frequency independently. The antenna shows a good performance at the frequency, 912MHz and 2.45GHz for the radiation characteristic and input impedance matching, as well. The reflection is lower than -10dB and a good directivity higher than 3dB is achieved for both frequency.

  • This paper presents a unique and miniaturized dual-band coplanar waveguide (CPW-fed) antenna for modern wireless communication. A new technique of using a modified ground structure (MGS) and frequency shifting strips (FSS) has been employed in the design to achieve dual-frequency operation. The proposed antenna generates two separate impedance bandwidths and covers the minimum required frequency bands of GSM 1800, GSM 1900, and Wi-Fi/WLAN 5 GHz. The proposed antenna is relatively small ($17{\times}20mm^2$) and operates over frequency ranges 1.51~2.06 and 4.43~6.70 GHz. The designed antenna was simulated using Ansoft HFSS, a FEM based simulator, and antenna characteristics, such as reflection coefficient, gain, radiation efficiency, radiation pattern, impedance bandwidth, VSWR, surface current, and electric field distributions, are reported in this paper. The effect of the antenna's key structural parameters on its performance is also analyzed.

  • In this paper, a dual-frequency printed slot antenna loaded with an open-ring conducting strip and capacitively fed by a coplanar waveguide(CPW) is designed. The designed antenna has a bandwidth of 240㎒(1690㎒-1930㎒) at PCS frequency band and of 160㎒(2380㎒-2540㎒) at WLAN frequency band. In both frequency ranges, pattern and gain requirements are satisfied. The commercial software, IE3D, was used to design slot antenna. The predicted characteristics along with measured data are presented for verification purpose.

  • A CPW-fed to CPS dipole antenna of triangular loop director by microstrip tapered balun is proposed for dual and wide band operations, in this paper. The proposed antenna is consisted of a CPW-fed to CPS transform, microstrip tapered balun element, CPS dipole driver and triangular loop director. A dual and wide bandwidth of the proposed dipole antenna is realized by introducing the triangular loop director and taper matching element. The operated frequency bandwidth is 1GHz (2.14~3.14 GHz) and 1.9 GHz (4.6~6.5 GHz) to return loss criterion of less than 10 dB. The measured return loss of the proposed antenna showed good results of the dual and wide band operating frequency and the radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is able to support WLAN wireless communications applications.

  • A novel design for equilateral-triangular microstrip antennas with switchable resonant frequency is proposed. For dual-frequency operation, the proposed design is achieved by loading a pair of slits in the triangular patch, and two PIN diodes are utilized to switch the slits on or off. By increasing the length of the slits, the lower resonant frequency can be varied in the range from 1.22 GHz to 1.72 GHz whereas the upper resonant frequency remains unchanged.

  • In this paper, we design the dual frequency antenna that could easily determine two operation frequencies by its inverted-F antenna structure and spur line length. The spur line is applied to the inverted-F antenna, in order to dual operation characteristics in PCS and cellular frequencies. It has designed by using the IE3D commercial software based on the moment method. As the designed antenna is fabricated and measured, you can see the results such as the return loss, the input impedance, the radiation patterns, and the gain. The size of this antenna is 40 mm$\times$14 mm$\times$9.4 mm, it is compact enough to use as an intenna. Also, This antenna can be used with cellular and PCS phone of domestic market.
