Cooperative relaying methods have attracted a lot of interest in the past few years. A conventional cooperative relaying scheme has a source, a destination, and a single relay. This cooperative scheme can support one symbol transmission per time slot, and is caned full rate transmission. However, existing fun rate cooperative relay approaches provide asymmetrical gain for different transmitted symbols. In this paper, we propose a cooperative relaying scheme that is assisted with dual relays and provides full transmission rate with the same macro-diversity to each symbol. We also address equalization for the dual relay transmission system in addition to addressing the issues concerning the improvement of system performance in terms of optimal power allocations.

Biometric user authentications, day after day, propagate more to human life instead of traditional systems which use passwords and ID cards. However, most of these systems have many problems for given biometric information such noisy data, low-quality data, a limitation of recognition rate, and so on. To deal with these problems, I used Dual QML which is non-linear classification for classifying correctly the real-world data and then proposed preprocessing method for increasing recognition rate and performance by segmenting a specific region on an image. The previous published Dual QML used face, palmprint, ear for the experiment. In this paper, I used iris for experiment and then proved excellence of Dual QML at iris recognition. Finally I demonstrated these results (e.g. increasing recognition rate and performance, suitability for iris recognition) through experiments.

This paper describes a dual-mode reference-less CDR(Clock Data Recovery) operating at full / half-rate and its operation algorithm. Proposed reference-less CDR consists of a frequency detector, a phase detector, a charge pump, a loop filter, a voltage controlled oscillator, and a digital block. The frequency and phase detectors operate at both full / half-rate for dual-mode operation and especially the frequency detector is capable of detecting the difference between data rate and clock frequency in the dead zone of general frequency detectors. Dual-mode reference-less CDR with the proposed algorithm can recover the data and clock within 1.2-1.3 us and operates reliably at both full-rate (2.7 Gb/s) and half-rate (5.4 Gb/s) with 0.5-UI input jitter.
The dual drug-loaded alginate beads simultaneously containing drug in inner and outer layers were prepared by dropping plain (single-layered) alginate beads into $CaCl_2$ solution. The release characteristics were evaluated in simulated gastric fluid for 2 h followed by intestinal fluids thereafter for 12 h. The surface morphology and cross section of dual drug-loaded alginate beads was also investigated using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The poorlv water-soluble ibuprofen was chosen as a model drug. The surface of single-layered and dual drug-loaded alginate beads showed very crude and roughness, showing aggregated particles, surface cracks and rough crystals. The thickness of dual drug-loaded alginate beads surrounded by outer layer was ranged from about 57 to 329mcm. The distinct chasm between inner and outer layers was also observed. In case of single-layered alginate bead, the drug was not released in gastric fluid but was largely released in intestinal fluid. However, the release rate decreased as the reinforcing $Eudragit^{\circledR}$ polymer contents increased. When the plasticizers were added into polymer, the release rate largely decreased. The release rate of dual drug-loaded alginate beads was stable in gastric fluid for 2 h but largely increased when switched in intestinal fluid. The drug linearly released for 4 h followed by another linear release thereafter, showing a distinct biphasic release characteristics. There was a difference in the release profiles between single-layered and dual drug-loaded alginate beads due to their structural shape. However, this biphasic release profiles were modified by varying formulation compositions of inner and outer layer of alginate beads. The release rate of dual drug-loaded alginate beads slightly decreased when the outer layer was reinforced with $Eudragit^{\circledR}$ RS1OO polymers. In case of dual drug-loaded alginate beads with polymer-reinforced outer layer only, the initial amount of druc released was low but the initial release rate (slope) was higher due to more swellable inner cores when compared to polymer-reinforced inner cores. The current dual drug-loaded alginate beads may be used to deliver the drugs in a time dependent manner.

A new model for the continuous-magnetic interferences has been proposed in this paper to remove external interferes of magnetic field to the dual electric compass. By this removal, the dual electric compass can be used for proving the azimuth angle in an automobile navigation system instead of the rate gyroscope. In the navigation system with a GPS receiver, a DR sensor such as a rate gyroscope is needed to overcome the shielded areas, which is relatively expensive and requires frequent calibrations. However the dual electric compass designed by this research is cheap and provides absolute azimuth angle precisely, which is beneficiary to be used as a DR sensor. The main contribution of this paper is that the long-lasting magnetic interferences have been removed out by using the proposed model, which never be studied before. With a hybrid navigation system using a DR sensor, we demonstrated that dual electric compass is better than a rate gyroscope in terms of both economics and performances.
In this paper, the implementation of dual rate ADPCM using G.726 16Kbps and 40Kbps speech codec algorithm is handled. For small signals, the low rate 16Kbps coding algorithm shows almost the same SNR as the high rate 40Kbps coding algorithm , while the high rate 40Kbps coding algorithm shows the higher SNR than the low rate 16Kbps coding algorithm fur large signal. To obtain the good trade-off between the data rate and synthesized speech quality, we applied low rate 16Kbps for the small signal and high rate 40Kbps for the large signal. Various threshold values determining the rate are applied for good trade-off between data rate and speech quality. The simulation result shows the good speech quality at a low rate comparing with 16Kbps & 40Kbps.
Corrosion fatigue fracture of dual phase steel(SS41) and raw material steel(SS41) were investigated in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution at PH 4,6,9 and 11. The fatigue limit of dual phase steel is increased approximately 1.8 times larger than that of raw material in air. The corrosion fatigue life of dual phase steel is about 5-10 times larger than that of raw material in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution. The reduction of fatigue life is larger for the acidsalt solution than for the alkali salt solution. The reduction of stress level on the reduction ratio of corrosion fatigue life is large as pH 6-11. The reduction ratio of corrosion fatigue life of dual phase steel and raw material is nearly coincided at pH 2. While at pH4-2 the reduction ratio of corrosion fatigue life only depends on the corrosion effect. It has been found that the corrosion resistance effect of dual phase steel is smaller than that of raw material in corrosion fatigue crack propagation rate. As pH below 6 is changed, it can be clearly observed from raw material that the brittle intergranular fracture is characterized, and from the above result, the influence of corrosion of dual phase steel is small.
Recently, as interest in self-driving cars has increased worldwide, research and development on the Advanced Driver Assist System is actively underway. Among them, the purpose of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is to minimize the driver's driving fatigue through the control of the vehicle's longitudinal speed and relative distance. In this study, for the research of the ACC test in the real environment, the real-road test was conducted based on domestic-road test scenario proposed in preceding study, considering ISO 15622 test method. In this case, the distance measurement method using the dual camera was verified by comparing and analyzing the result of using the dual camera and the result of using the measurement equipment. As a result of the comparison, two results could be derived. First, the relative distance after stabilizing the ACC was compared. As a result of the comparison, it was found that the minimum error rate was 0.251% in the first test of scenario 8 and the maximum error rate was 4.202% in the third test of scenario 9. Second, the result of the same time was compared. As a result of the comparison, it was found that the minimum error rate was 0.000% in the second test of scenario 10 and the maximum error rate was 9.945% in the second test of scenario 1. However, the average error rate for all scenarios was within 3%. It was determined that the representative cause of the maximum error occurred in the dual camera installed in the test vehicle. There were problems such as shaking caused by road surface vibration and air resistance during driving, changes in ambient brightness, and the process of focusing the video. Accordingly, it was determined that the result of calculating the distance to the preceding vehicle in the image where the problem occurred was incorrect. In the development stage of ADAS such as ACC, it is judged that only dual cameras can reduce the cost burden according to the above derivation of test results.

In this paper, the hybrid state space self-tuning control technique Is studied within the framework of fuzzy systems and dual-rate sampling control theory. We show that fuzzy modeling techniques can be used to formulate chaotic dynamical systems. Then, we develop the hybrid state space self-tuning fuzzy control techniques with dual-rate sampling for digital control of chaotic systems. An equivalent fast-rate discrete-time state-space model of the continuous-time system is constructed by using fuzzy inference systems. To obtain the continuous-time optimal state feedback gains, the constructed discrete-time fuzzy system is converted into a continuous-time system. The developed optimal continuous-time control law is then convened into an equivalent slow-rate digital control law using the proposed digital redesign method. The proposed technique enables us to systematically and effective]y carry out framework for modeling and control of chaotic systems. The proposed method has been successfully applied for controlling the chaotic trajectories of Chua's circuit.
In this paper, a dual algorithm, based on a smoothing function of Bertsekas (1982), is established for solving unconstrained minimax problems. It is proven that a sequence of points, generated by solving a sequence of unconstrained minimizers of the smoothing function with changing parameter t, converges with Q-superlinear rate to a Kuhn-Thcker point locally under some mild conditions. The relationship between the condition number of the Hessian matrix of the smoothing function and the parameter is studied, which also validates the convergence theory. Finally the numerical results are reported to show the effectiveness of this algorithm.
