  • Titles of Nintendo DS are frequently use humor to help users fall in short time. Among many humor element, many titles use exaggeration. It is because 'exaggeration' is the best instrument to make users understand humor without complex cognitive process. Therefore, portable game using humor storytelling as a strategy for attracting various people.

  • 본 논문에서는 Hybrid $SC/MRC-{L_c}/L$ 다이버시티 수신 기법과 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 각각 또는 함께 이용할 때의 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA시스템의 성능 개선을 구하였다. 우선 다중경로 페이딩 및 다중접속간섭의 영향을 분석하고, 두 기법에 의한 성능 개선 정도를 구하여 비교, 분석하였다. Hybrid SC/MRC-Lc/L 수신에서는 각각의 반송파에 대하여 상관을 취하고 상관기 출력들 중에서 가장 큰 신호성분을 {$L_c}$개 만큼 선택하여 최대비 합성하며, 콘볼루션 부호화는 다중경로 다중경로 페이딩 및 다중접속간섭에 의하여 발생된 오류를 정정 및 검출한다. 분석 결과, 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 채용함으로서 성능이 현저하게 개선되는데, 보호이득과 전력제한 사이에 trade off를 고려하여 부호화 율 (r)을 선택할 필요가 있다는 것과 하이브리드 $SC/MRC-{L_c}/L$ 수신에서는 입력 다이버시티 가지의 수 (L)가 많을수록 선택의 폭이 넓어지며, 적절한 숫자의 다이버시티 가지의 선택이 시스템의 복잡성과 성능 대 배용 등을 결정한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, short range IVC(Inter-Vehicle Communication) channel is modeled in three kinds considering rain attenuation and oxygen absorption. And the performance of DS/CDMA communication system in one path Rician model suitable for platton driving which is the final goal of AVHS(Advanced Vehicle & Highway System) is analyzed. Also, the reflection coefficients in 60 GHz is calculated. For the performance improvement both BCH channel coding and MRC diversity reception technique are adopted. The BER performance is evaluated as a function of packet length, Rician depth and the distance between vehicles.

  • Energy conservation is an important issue in wireless networks, especially for self-organized, low power, low data-rate impulse-radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) networks, where every node is a battery-driven device. To conserve energy, it is necessary to turn node into sleep state when no data exist. This paper addresses the energy consumption analysis of Direct-Sequence (DS) versus Time-Hopping (TH) multiple accesses and two kinds of sleeping protocols (slotted and unslotted) in PHY-MAC for Un networks. We introduce an analytical model for energy consumption or a node in both TH and DS multiple accesses and evaluate the energy consumption comparison between them and also the performance of the proposed sleeping protocols. Simulation results show that the energy consumption per packet of DS case is less than TH case and for slotted sleeping is less than that of unslotted one for bursty load case, but with respect to the load access delay unslotted one consumes less energy, that maximize node lifetime.

Relative Capacity of the Spectrum-Overlapped DS-CDMA System using the Lanczos Chip Waveform

  • Performance improvement of the DS-CDMA system by the spectrum-overlap is important for better service quality or more system capacity. In this paper, an analysis thor capacity improvement is newly considered when the Lanczos chip waveform is used for the spectrum-overlapped DS-CDMA system. RC(relative capacity) is the ratio of the capacity of overlapping system to that of non-overlapping system, which is used for the expression of the capacity improvement. The optimal overlapping ratio is numerically found to make the maximum capacity improvement When the rectangular chip waveform is used far the overlapping system, maximum capacity improvement is increased by about 10% at the required BER=$10^{-3}$TEX> and the optimal overlapping ratio is 1.23. When the 95 % power bandwidth is considered for the Lanczos chip waveform, maximum capacity improvement is increased by 34.4% at overlapping ratio of 1.55 when the required BER is $10^{-3}$TEX>. The lower required BER far the better communication quality makes gradually smaller capacity improvement.

  • In this paper, an effective neural acquisition system is suggested for acquisition of the DS/SS communication system. The suggested system uses a binary neural network which geometrically analyzes and learns a given PN sequence in the binary field. the probabilities of detection and false alarm are obtained and are compared to simulation values. The equation of the mean acquisition time is derived and is compared to the doubledwell time of the serial serial search system. The significant improvement of the performance is demonstrated. As the length of synchronization sequence becomes longer and the number is increased, the performance is improved.

  • In this paper, the performance of DS /SSMA BPSK communication system with maximal ratio combining microscopic diversity and selection macroscopic diversity is analyzed. The effects of Rayleigh fading and log normal shadowing on system performance are analyzed, and the validity of microscopic and macroscopic diversity to mitigate the two fading effects are estimated. The increase of the number of chips is effective for mitigating log norma; shadowing, while the increase of the order of microscopic diversity is not. And the higher the standard deviation of shadowing, the more effective the macroscopic diversity.

  • A multi-media variable processing gain DS/CDMA system are considered. Two types of information sources with different rates and transmitting powers are assumed to be stransmitted simultaneously in the same channel. Average signal-to-noise ratios at the correlation receiver outputs for each type of information sources are analytically derived as funtions of partial cross-correlations between spreading code sequences. As the difference of information rates between information sources increase, the difference between signal-to-noise ratio regarding random spreading code and that regarding pseudo random spreading code increases (maximum 1.3dB). The result can provide a analytical tools for use in multi-media DS/CDMA system design.

  • We consider two methods for the pilot signal transmission in DS/CDMA systems: Pilot channel method which is parallel to the data channel and pilot symbol method which is serial to the data channel. In this paper, we analyze the two methods. The performance of the two methods is shown to be dependent upon the added noise, fading, pilot symbol period and pilot channel power. Through the analysis, it is found that the performance of the pilot symbol method outperforms compared to the pilot channel method.

  • In this paper, the performance on the PN code acquisition of DS/CDMA system was analyzed using the Nakagami-m probability density function considered fading environment. The equations on detection probability, $P_D$ and false alarm probability, ($P_{FA}$, decision variables affecting the PN code acquisition time were derived and proved using simulation in order to analyze the performance. In conclusion, It was necessary increasing the gain of PLL for correcting phase errors and improving the acquisition performance of PN code in apply to the rake receiver.
