Objectives This research was performed to present Clinical Practice Guideline(CPG) for Taeeumin Disease of Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM): Liver Heat-based Interior Heat (Gansuyeol-liyeol) disease. This CPG was developed by the national-wide experts committee consisting of SCM professors. Methods First, it was performed that search and collection of literature related to SCM such as "Dongeuisusebowon", Textbook of SCM, Clinical Guidebook of SCM and fundamental researches to standardize the diagnosis of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. And journal search related to clinical trials and case studies concerning SCM was performed domestic and overseas. Finally, 12 articles were selected and included in CPG for Liver Heat-based Interior Heat (Gansuyeol-liyeol) disease in Taeeumin Disease. Experts consensus was drawn through several meetings. Results & Conclusions CPG of Liver Heat-based Interior Heat (Gansuyeol-liyeol) disease in Taeeumin Disease include classification, definition and standard symptoms of each pattern. Liver Heat-based Interior Heat (Gansuyeol-liyeol) disease is classified into Liver-Heat (Ganyeol) symptomatology and Liver-Heat Lung-Dry (Ganyeol-paeJo) symptomatology. Depending on the severity of Liver Heat, Liver-Heat (Ganyeol) symptomatology is classified into mild pattern and moderate pattern. Mild pattern contains 1 disease, namely, Liver-Heat (Ganyeol) initial pattern. Moderate pattern classified into advanced pattern and intense pattern. Depending on the severity of the Lung-Dry, Liver-Heat Lung-Dry (Ganyeol-paeJo) symptomatology is classified into severe pattern and critical pattern. Severe pattern is classified into Dry-Heat (Joyeol) pattern and Dry-Heat (Joyeol) advanced pattern. Critical pattern contains 1 disease, namely, Dry-Heat (Joyeol) intense pattern (Eumhyeol-mogal yeolda pattern).

Objectives This case study is about a Taeeumin patient with advanced Parkinson's disease identified as Dry-heat (Joyeol) pattern. In this study, we report significant improvement of non-motor and motor symptoms after treatment with Cheongsimyeonja-tang.Methods The patient was identified as Taeeumin Dry-heat (Joyeol) pattern and treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang and acupuncture. The Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) was used to assess the overall functions of the patient. And the global assessment scale (GAS) was used to assess the improvements of dizziness, bradykinesia and tremor after the treatment.Result and Conclusion The UPDRS total score decreased from 138 points to 86 points after 5 weeks treatment. And symptoms of dizziness caused by hypotension, bradykinesia, and tremor showed significant improvement in GAS after the treatment. Furthermore, sleep disturbance and constipation were reported to be improved after the treatment. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Taeeumin patient with advanced Parkinson's disease having orthostatic hypotension.

Objectives The aim of this study was to report significant improvement of paresthesia and weakness in the limbs of unknown cause after treatment with Mangeummoonmu-tang and Cheongeummoonmu-tang in a Taeeumin patient. Methods The patient was diagnosed as Taeeumin Dry-Heat (Joyeol) pattern and treated with Mangeummoonmu-tang, Cheongeummoonmu-tang and acupuncture. The patient's subjective symptoms of paresthesia and weakness were observed using Global Assessment Scale (GAS) during the treatment period. Results and Conclusion The symptoms of paresthesia and weakness decreased from GAS 100 to GAS 0 for two weeks. Furthermore, the patient's symptoms of fatigue and xeroderma were reported to be improved after treatment. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Taeeumin patient with paresthesia and weakness in the limbs of unknown cause.

Results The UPDRS total score decreased from 145 points to 77 points after 5 weeks treatment. And symptoms of bradykinesia, tremor and dry mouth showed significant improvement in GAS after the treatment. Furthermore, constipation, sleep disturbance, dysuresia and anorexia were reported to be improved after treatment. Conclusions This study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for motor and non-motor symptoms caused by Parkinson's disease.

1. Objective This case study reports a Taeeumin patient experiencing hand tremor, heat flash, and mild dysarthria who improved with Yeoldahansotang medication. 2. Method The patient's subjective and objective symptoms were observed daily, and the VAS scores for the main symptoms (hand tremor, heat flash, and mild dysarthria) were recorded daily throughout hospitalization period. 3. Result The patient's general conditions improved by the end of hospitalization, and VAS score dropped dramatically from VAS 10, VAS 10, VAS 10 to VAS 0, VAS 0.5, VAS 3 for hand tremor, heat flash, and mild dysarthria, respectively. 4. Conclusion The patient responded well to Yeoldahansotang, one of the main medicaments for the Joyeol (dry-heat) symptomatic pattern, which indicates that Yeoldahansotang can be used to treat the Joyeol symptomatic pattern even when the textbook indications are not evident as long as the Joyeol pathology is recognizable from other symptoms.
