드럼 세탁기 포장재 낙하해석 및 완충 특성 (Drop Analysis of a Package and Cushion Performance of Drum Washing Machine)

  • 대형 드럼세탁기의 낙하 충격에 대한 포장재의 동적 거동 분석을 수행하였다. 해석에는 충격 해석에 널리 쓰이고 있는 LS-DYNA를 사용하였으며, 자유 낙하 시의 충격 가속도와 유효 응력, 그리고 고속 카메라를 통한 포장재 압축 변형 비교를 통해 해석 결과의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 완충 특성 및 포장재 구조 에 대한 파라미터 분석을 통해 기존 포장 구조에 대한 설계 개선안을 도출하였으며, 유통 시험을 통해 유효성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 해석 기법 및 분석 방법 등을 통해, 향후 드럼 세탁기의 완충 성능 및 재료비 개선에 효과적으로 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

일체형원자로 제어봉구동장치의 낙하 및 완충특성 (Drop and Damping Characteristics of the CEDM for the Integral Reactor)

  • A control element drive mechanism(CEDM) is a reactor regulating system, which inserts, withdraws or maintains a control rod containing a neutron absorbing material within a reactor core to control the reactivity of the core. The ball-screw type CEDM for the integral reactor has a spring-damper system to reduce the impact force due to the scram of the CEDM. This paper describes the experimental results to obtain the drop and damping characteristics of the CEDM. The drop tests are performed by using a drop test rig and a facility. A drop time and a displacement after an impact are measured using a LVDT. The influences of the rod weight, the drop height and the flow area of hydraulic damper on the drop and damping behavior are also estimated on the basis of test results. The drop time of the control element is within 4.5s to meet the design requirement, and the maximum displacement is measured as 15.6 mm. It is also found that the damping system using a spring-hydraulic damper plays a good damper role in the CEDM.

  • In this study, Shock Absorption performance of Magneto-rheological elastomer(MRE) is identified through the drop impact test. Magneto-rheological materials are divided into two groups by MR fluid in fluid state and MR elastomer in solid state like rubber. The stiffness characteristics of Magneto-rheological material can be changed as magnetic field is applied. The impact loads in MR elastomer were measured under weight of impactor. Experiment results are shown through the experiments to confirm the effect of shock absorption of MR elastomer. Thus, the MR elastomer can be applied to shock absorber used in area that shock occurs.

사용후 핵연료 수송용기의 수평낙하충격에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Side Drop Impact of a Nuclear Spent Fuel Shipping Cask)

  • A nuclear spent fuel shipping cask is required by IAEA and domestic regulations to withstand a 9m free drop condition. In this paper, the structural analysis under the 9m side drop condition was performed to understand the dynamic impact behavior and to evaluate the safety of the cask for 7 PWR nuclear spent fuel assemblies. The analysis result was compared with the measured value of the 9m side drop test for the 1/3 scaled-down model and the accuracy of the 3D analysis was confirmed. Analysis in accordance with the diameter of impact limiters for the proto-type cask were performed. Through the analysis, the impact behaviors due to the side drop and the effects dependent on the diameter of impact limiters were grasped. Maximum stress intensities on each part of the cask were respectively calculated by using the stress evaluation program and the structural safety of the cask was finally evaluated in accordance with the regulations.

  • Recently, board level solder joint reliability performance of IC packages during drop impact becomes a great concern to semiconductor and electronic product manufacturers. The handheld electronic products are prone to being dropped during their useful service life because of their size and weight. The IC packages are susceptible to solder joint failures, induced by a combination of printed circuit board (PCB) bending and mechanical shock during impact. The board level drop testing is an effective method to characterize the solder joint reliability performance of miniature handheld products. In this paper, applying the JEDEC (JESD22-B111) standard present a finite element modeling of the FBGA. The simulation results revealed that maximum stress was located at the outermost solder ball in the PCB or IC package side, which consisted well with the location of crack initiation observed in the failure analysis after drop reliability tests.

낙추식 충격시험에 의한 CFRP 적층판의 강도평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strength Assessment of CFRP Laminate Plates by Drop-Weight Impact Test)

  • In this study, a drop-weight impact tester was manufactured to assess the strength of CFRP laminate plates. The tests were conducted on several laminates of different ply orientation. A system for the impact strength of CFRP laminates was made considering stress wave propagation theory using drop-weight impact tester as one of impact test. Results indicate that absorbed energy of quasi-isotropic specimen, haying four interfaces is higher than that of orthotropic laminates with two interfaces. Absorbed energy in the specimen that ply number, interface number and fiber stacking sequences is same but having hybrid is higher than that of orthotropic laminates without hybrid.

자유낙하충격조건에 있는 사용후핵연료 운반용기의 충격해석방법 연구 (Analysis Method on the Free Drop Impact Condition of Spent Nuclear Fuel Shipping Casks)

  • The package used to transport radioactive materials, which is called by cask, must be safe under normal and hypothetical accident conditions. These requirements for the cask design must be verified through test or finite element analysis. Since the cost for FE analysis is less than one for test. the verification by FE analysis is mainly used. But due to the complexity of mechanical behaviors. the results depends on how users apply the codes and it can cause severe errors during analysis. In this paper, finite element analysis is carried out for the 9 meters free drop and the puncture condition of the hypothetical accident conditions using LS-DYNA3D and ABAQUS/Explicit. We have investigated the analyzing technique for the free drop impact test of the cask and found several vulnerable cases to errors. The analyzed results were compared with each other. We have suggested a reliable and relatively simple analysis technique for the drop test of spent nuclear fuel casks.

낙하충격하중을 받는 방사성물질 수송용기의 동적거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Behaviors of a Shipping Container Under Drop Impact Loading)

  • This paper describes dynamic finite element analyses performed to study the dynamic behaviors of a shipping container under the impact onto rigid target due to the accidental fall from the hight of 9 m. Using two and three dimensional techniques, the shipping container which gave the maximum damage, ten different drop orientations are considered ; at intervals of $5^{\circ}$ from $45^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$ According to the present results, the orientation of the shipping container which gave the maximum damage is $85^{\circ}$ from horizontal for oblique drop in the primary impact. In the optimal design of the shipping container, the impact limiter material must be considered importantly because it's proper selection affects the weight and the manufacturing cost of the shipping container. The analysis of the shipping container in this paper demonstrated that the shipping container is structurally sound relative to the regulatory drop test requirements.

OLED 모듈의 충격시험용 표준 지그 개발 (Design of Standard Jigs for Drop Tests of OLED Modules)

  • 이동전화기의 낙하 충격 시 디스플레이 모듈의 파손은 이동전화기의 재료, 강성 및 형상에 의하여 많은 영향을 받는다. 이동전화기 개발의 초기 단계에서는, 디스플레이 모듈의 내구성을 판단하기 위하여 모듈을 지그에 장착하여 낙하시험을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 OLED 모듈의 충격 시험을 수행하기 위한 지그를 개발하였다. 지그의 재료, 두께 및 리브의 개수와 방향 등을 설계변수로 고려하여 실제 이동전화기가 낙하할 때 OLED 모듈이 받는 충격 응력과 가장 유사한 응력이 발생하도록 지그를 개발하였다. ABAQUS/Explicit를 사용한 1.5m 높이 충격 해석에서, 개발된 지그에 장착된 OLED 모듈의 유리에서 발생하는 최대주응력은 이동전화기에 장착된 동일 모듈의 유리에서 발생하는 최대주응력과 유사함을 확인할 수 있었다.

트럭 운송시 맥주용 유리병의 진동 및 낙하 특성 (Vibration Characteristics and Drop Impacts of Bear Glass Bottles During Truck Transit)

  • 음료와 맥주 제품의 경우 신선도를 유지하기 목적으로 다양한 종류의 유리병이 국내에서 생산되거나 수입되어 유통되고 있다. 실제 트럭으로 국내 운송되는 맥주 유리병 제품의 유통환경에서 진동 특성을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 트럭 불규칙 진동 특성인 0.52 $G_{rms}$을 진동시험 규격으로 적용하여 예측실험을 실시하였으며, 결론적으로 유리병의 자체의 파손은 관측되지 않았다. 트럭의 적재함 위치별 상하진동 수준에 있어서는 뒷부분에 위치한 가속도계에서 가장 큰 진동 특성(0.17 $G_{rms}$)이 나타났으며, 앞 부분(0.11 $G_{rms}$)과 중간 부분(0.12 $G_{rms}$)은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 낙하 높이와 제품 용량의 종류에 관계없이 바닥면으로 낙하된 유리병의 경우 파손은 관측되지 않았다. 단측면 낙하 시 가장 큰 유리병 파손율을 보였으며, 장측면에 비해 약 2배 높은 유리병 파손율을 나타내었다.
