  • This paper presents a method of obtaining transmission network equivalents from the network's driving-point admittance characteristic. Proposed method is based on modal decomposition representation for the large-scale interconnected system. As a result, Norton-type of discrete-time filter model can be generated. It can reproduce the driving-point admittance characteristic of the network. Furthermore proposed model can be implemented into the EMTP in a direct manner. The simulation results with the full system representation and the developed equivalent system showed a good agreement.

In this paper a new analytic method for Ladder networks by weighted tree is proposed. In contrast to conventional tree concept that represents only information structure, in this paper, a tree with hierarchical structure is established by giving wei체t of impedance Z and admittance Y to branch and representing each node of its branch as a pair of voltage and current. Then, by defining generation level from tree structure and by parsing between standand level and arbitrary level, driving point impedance, transfer function and transfer impedance are simultaneously obtained instead of complex calculation method by inspection. The validity of this method is proved by the reciprocal theorem and this method is applied to four-terminal constants and the feedback network.

  • The stability and theoretical performance limits of the feedback controlled force reflecting haptic manipulator have been discussed. All the virtual environment which interact physically with the haptic system have its own stable performance limit. Three different realization of the interfaces have been compared using the driving point admittance. The haptic system which is separated from the human hand or finger is superior to its stable interaction provided that there is a means to apply a direct damping between the haptic manipulator and the human finger Electro-magnetic force is used for its digital implementation of the simple separated type haptic device. The stable limits of a virtual wall is calculated and experimental results show that there is performance limits in this implementation.

  • In recent years, chip delay estimation has had an increasingly important impact on overall design technology. The analysis of the timing behavior of an ASIC should be based not only on the delay characteristics of gates and interconnect circuits but also on the interactions between them. This model plays an important role in our CAD system to analyze the ASIC timing characteristics accurately, together with two-dimensional gate delay table model, AWE algorithm and effective capacitance concept. In this paper, we present an efficient algorithm which accounts for series resistance by computing a reduced-order approximation for the driving-point admittance of an RC-tree and an effective capacitance equation that captures the complete waveform response accurately.
