  • The urban transit system is operated by driverless and automatic.In driverless and automatic system, the system function is accomplished exactly to obtain the safety and reliability of system and the system is designed to minimize risk. In order to design the system, the functional analysis is performed. Recently functional analysis is performed by design toolwhich is used and verified by aerospace, military, etc. Generally, the design tool is used to perform functional analysis in urban transit system development project. The design toolassist the system engineer to analysis the function of system in basic design. Therefore, In this paper, it is performed the functional analysis to satisfy the system requirement of urban transit system and to confirm the operation of system using design tool.

A Study on TPS based on ATO for Driverless LRT (ATO 자동운전 기반의 무인운전 경전철 TPS에 관한 연구)

  • TPS (Train Performance Simulation) based on ATO (Automatic Train Operation) is required for driverless LRT (Light Rail Transit) operation plan instead of typical TPS based on driver operation. In this paper, new TPS model using ATO pattern is proposed and compared with the automatic train operation result in a test line of Seoul Metro Line 6 and in a whole line of Busan-Gimhae LRT. The actual ATO pattern can be very accurately simulated by new TPS model with the introduction of 4 parameters such as commercial braking rate, jerk, station stop profile and grade converted distance. The commercial scheduled time for driverless automatic train operation can be proposed to have "Fast" mode TPS trip time plus 3 seconds/km margin recommended by Korean standard LRT specification in this paper.

  • While the era of driverless car has come, Vehicular Ad hoc NETwork(VANET) is getting important. Original VANET has a limit that cannot use computation power, storage space of On Board Unit(OBU) installed in a vehicle efficiently. VANET cloud computing(VCC) solves the limit to focus on using abilities of each vehicle. This article proposes VCC architecture for supplementing user addition and initial cloud creation that have been researched insufficiently.

  • This paper is mainly concerned with the development of the ATO(Automatic Train Operation) System. The ATO system is used for automatic or driverless operation of a train using various informations from TCMS, ATC, TWC. In this paper, the general architecture of the ATO system, implementation of ATO application software and the algorithm using servo-controller for automatic train speed restriction/regulation is presented.

In this paper, we made ATO system with national technic and passed type test. We are convinced of reliability and safety of the ATO system on the seoul metro 7 line.
