  • In this study, we investigated the operating method of a driver for an air conditioning system according to the temperature difference between the indoor and outdoor environments of a car parked outside during the summer. Researchers of this study suggest the comfort mode of a car air conditioner to improve the thermal comfort of the driver, thereby maintaining longer comfort. This study separately, analyzed temperatures on a cloudy day and sunny day. The results showed the car indoor heat environment and physiological results (EEG, ECG) of the subject. It showed a difference of the car indoor heat environment by weather with the difference also appearing in the physiological response of the subject. In conclusion, in this paper, on the basis of the physiological response of a subject, a comfortable algorithm of automobile air conditioner is being suggested.

차량 시뮬레이터를 이용한 연속류 도로의 고령운전자 주행특성 분석 (Analysis of Driving Characteristics of Elderly Drivers on Roads Using Vehicle Simulator)

  • 본 연구는 고령운전자 운전특성 파악을 위한 실증적 분석의 일환으로 차량 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 고령운전자의 주행특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기존연구 고찰에서 고령운전자의 주행특성 요소를 파악한 후, 시뮬레이션 환경을 구축하고 일반 운전자와의 주행 비교를 통해 고령자 운전특성을 명확히 도출하고자 하였다. 실험 결과 고령운전자는 주행속도, 운전조작(브레이크, 스로틀, 스티어링 작동) 등 차로편측을 제외한 모든 항목에서 일반 운전자와는 다른 주행특성을 보이는 사실을 확인하였으며, 주요 특성으로 차로변경 시 속도유지 및 적정 차간간격 확보가 어렵고, 돌발 상황 발생 시 정지거리와 소요시간이 더 많이 필요한 것으로 확인되었다. 결과적으로 고령운전자 주행거동의 일의적 특성을 입증할 수 있었고, 도로설계, 고령자 관련 교통정책 수립 등에 유효한 지침을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper presents micro step driving method using VHDL(Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language) which can configure CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device). Using VHDL which can do abstractive programming is similar to high level language. The whole block divided into five parts with freq. divide part, saw-tooth wave generation part, sine-cosine wave generation part, comparative part, out part. In the result of this study, peripheral circuits are to be simple and using LPM(Library of Parameterized Modules) is more easily to configure circuit. It is easy to verify and implement by using VHDL. To subdivide one natural step, we confirm that using micro step driver is expected that the rotor motion is stepless very smooth.

  • The multi-driver off-road vehicle drive-line consists of many components, with close connections among them. In order to design and analyze the drive-line efficiently, a modular methodology should be taken. The aim of a modular approach to the modeling of complex systems is to support behavior analysis and simulation in an iterative and thus complex engineering process, by using encapsulated submodels of components and of their interfaces. Multi-driver off-road vehicles are comparatively complicated. The driving-line is an important core part to the vehicle, it has a significant contribution to the performance. Multi-driver off-road vehicles have complex driving-lines, so performance is heavily dependent on the driving-line. A typical off-road vehicle's driving-line system consists of a torque converter, transmission, transfer case and driving-axles, which transfers the power generated by the engine and distributes it effectively to the driving wheels according to the road condition. According to its main function, this paper proposes a modularized approach for design and evaluation of the vehicle's driving-line. It can be used to effectively estimate the performance of the driving-line during the concept design stage. Through an appropriate analysis and assessment method, an optimal design can be reached. This method has been applied to practical vehicle design, it can improve the design efficiency and is convenient to assess and validate the performance of a vehicle, especially of multi-driver off-road vehicles.

스마트워치를 이용한 자동차운전자 구분 및 핸들의 회전 방향 인지 기법 (A Method for Driver Recognition and Steering Wheel Turning Direction Estimation Using Smartwatches)

  • 웨어러블 디바이스의 대중화에 따라 디바이스 내에 탑재된 다양한 센서를 활용하여 동작 인식, 헬스케어, 안전 보조 등 다양한 스마트 서비스를 제공하는 애플리케이션이 급증하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 9축 관성 센서가 탑재된 스마트워치를 이용하여 운전자를 인식하고, 운전 중 운전자의 자동차 핸들의 회전각을 탐지하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 i) 스마트워치 위치 인식, ii) 운전자 인식, iii) 핸들의 회전각 계산, 3가지 단계로 구성되어 있다. 이를 위해, IMU 센서와 아두이노(Arduino)를 이용하여 웨어러블 디바이스의 시제품을 자체 제작하고 제안하는 시스템을 구현 하였다. 실험을 통해 핸들의 회전 방향을 높은 정확도로 계산할 수 있고 회전각 또한 평균 $11.77^{\circ}$의 낮은 오차를 보여 제안하는 시스템의 실효성을 입증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 캐패시터로 상승 시간과 하강 시간을 조절하고 슈미트 트리거의 스위칭 전압을 이용한 데드 타임 회로를 갖는 고전압 구동 IC (High Voltage Gate Driver IC)를 설계하였다. 설계된 고전압 구동 IC는 기존 회로와 비교하여 온도에 따 른 데드 타임 변동을 약 52% 줄여 하프브리지 컨버터의 효율을 증대시켰으며 캐패시터 값에 따라 가변적인 데드 타임을 가진다. 또한 숏-펄스 (short-pulse) 생성회로를 추가하여 상단 레벨 쉬프트 (High side part Level shifter)에서 발생하는 전력소모를 기존의 회로에 비해 52% 감소 시켰고, UVLO를 추가하여 시스템의 오동작을 방지하여 시스템의 안정도를 향상시켰다. 제안한 회로를 검증하기 위해 Cadence의 Spectre을 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하였고 1.0um 공정을 이용하였다.

고속도로 주행 시 연료차단 기능을 활용한 $CO_2$ 배출량 감축에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Reduction of $CO_2$ Exhausted Emission by using Fuel-cut Function of Vehicles)

  • The fuel is not injected when the driver doesn't push acceleration pedal of a vehicle with engine speed higher than about 1,500rpm above mid vehicle speed range. This is called "fuel-cut function" and almost every modern vehicle is equipped with this function. This is activated on downhill part of a highway most often. Therefore the vehicle-exhausted $CO_2$ can be zero in this downhill part if the driver could recognize this part of highway. We compared the vehicle-exhausted $CO_2$ emission when using fuel-cut function with the $CO_2$ mass when without using this function in this study. We found that the $CO_2$ emission reduced with fuel-cut function and measured the reduction rate of vehicle-exhausted $CO_2$ mass with this test results. The exhausted $CO_2$ mass of a passenger car(2,000cc engine volume) is reduced by 4% with this function used. This $CO_2$ reduction effect can be achieved if the downhill part of a highway is painted with a specific color. And this road painting can be included in the highway road rehabilitation policy.

  • To improve passenger safety, seatbelt systems with pre-tensioner that tightens seatbelt webbing using explosives just before collision are widely adopted. Even though seatbelt must not be unlatched without passenger's operation, release of a buckle due to explosion of pre-tensioner takes place in some situations resulting in serious injury to passengers. To prevent the unintended unlocking, a pendulum like part called anti-g mass is attached to the buckle to block displacement of release button. In this study, the unlocking conditions of anti-g buckle when pre-tensioner explodes has been theoretically investigated. Through multibody model of the seatbelt system incorporating every detailed part of the buckle, dynamic analysis of the seatbelt system with pre-tensioner has been performed including the driver's body model that interacts with seatbelt system. The simulations results has been validated through actual sled test with driver dummy and the seatbelt system.

Full CMOS Single Supply PLC SoC ASIC with Integrated Analog Front-End

  • This paper presents a single supply PLC SoC ASIC with a built-in analog Front-end circuit. To achieve the low power consumption along with low cost, this PLC SoC employs fully CMOS Analog Front End (AFE) and several LDO regulators (LDOs) to provide the internal power for Logic Core, DAC and Input/output Pad driver. The receiver part of the AFE consists of Pre-amplifier, Gain Amplifier and 1 bit Comparator. The transmitter part of the AFE consists of 10 bit Digital Analog Converter and Line Driver. This SoC is implemented with 0.18 ${\mu}m$ 1 Poly 5 Metal CMOS Process. The single supply voltage is 3.3 V and the internal powers are provided using LDOs. The total power consumption is below 30 mA at stand-by mode to meet the Eco-Design requirement. The die size is 3.2 $\times$ 2.8 $mm^{2}$.

  • As time goes by, ultrasonic wave is getting important and new technology, which is adapted to ultrasonic wave is used to industry such as home appliance, automobile, and high-tech industry. Especially, ultrasonic wave is used an alarm device whether there are things at the rear of I. It's do important device in automobile system because it can prevent car-accident from inattention of the driver. Actually, there has already been lots of the alarm device. But it's expensive and so difficult to set the device. So almost driver don't set device at their automobile. We focus on these problems. We want to make cheap md easy setting device. Ultrasonic wave sensor emits Ultrasonic-signal at outgoing part and receive part accept the signal. Sensor analyzes the signal and Distance is displayed on LCD of device. The device makes alarm if distance is near from something of rear. The device makes break-system operate to prevent drivers from crashing if distance is so near. This device is portable. So normal deriver can set it easily.
