Statistical Discriminant Analysis on the Driving Ability of the Brain-injured

  • Brain injured patients who had the driver's license before the injury of the brain were tested with the newly developed tool CPAD by Hangyang Medical School and the National Rehabilitation Center. The CPAD contains many variables to measure the ability of driving. Also for each patient the American standard CBDI score was measured and the result was compared with the CPAD results. Of interest is to classify the patients as pass, border, fail group after the CPAD test. To derive the discriminant functions with the group information based on CBDI, parametric/nonparametric and multivariate/univariate discriminant analysis was performed and discussed.

도시 비선호시설이 주변 아파트 가격에 미치는 낙인효과에 관한 연구 - 서울 노원구 상계동 주공 7, 9, 10단지를 사례로 - (A Study on Stigma Effect of Unwelcomed Facilities on Apartment Prices: A Case Study of Sang-gye Jugong Apartment Complexes in Nowon-gu, Seoul)

  • This study investigates the stigma effect of unwelcomed facilities on apartment prices through multiple regressions based on hedonic price method. The areas studied are Sang-gye Jugong 7, 9, 10 apartment complexes. The facilities analyzed are the Chang-dong Electric Subway Depot and the Do-bong Driver's License Agency. The factors studied include the environmental variable (the elapsed time since the announcement of the re-location of these facilities), the view commanding, the distance from Chang-dong Depot, the distance from Do-bong Driver's License Test Course, the distance from neighboring facilities (subway stations, schools, parks and so on), the floor and each dwelling's exclusive space. The data used are 2,822 sales which have been collected since January 1, 2006. The facts found are as follows; first, the view commanding and the distance from the unwelcomed facilities are statistically significant. second, the environmental variable, 'days' turns out to have a positive (+) and a negative (-) significant relationship with the dependent variable, 'price', in period II and period IV respectively. This implies that the stigma effect is real. third, there are significant differences in the influence on the apartment prices among the independent variables according to time. fourth, the stigma effect is estimated as 33,686,920 Korean won in the case of the apartments which have the view commanding and 30,311,844 won in the other case before the global economic crisis. This effect seems to decrease to 22,085,078 won after the crisis. These facts suggest that stigma effects could be considered as one of the benefits in the cost-benefit analysis of Chang-dong Depot re-location project to produce somewhat higher NPV or B/C ratio.

  • The SoC and digital technology development recently enabled the emergence of information devices and control devices because the SoC present many advantages such as lower power consumption, greater reliability, and lower cost. It is required to use an embedded operating system for building control systems. So far, the Real-Time operating system is widely used to implement a Real-Time system since it meets developer's requirements. However, Real-Time operating systems reveal a lack of standards, expensive development, and license costs. Embedded Linux is able to overcome these disadvantages. In this paper, the implementation of control system platform using Real-Time Embedded Linux is described. As a control system platform, we use XScale of a Soc and build Real-Time control platform using RTAI and Real-Time device driver. Finally, we address the feasibility study of the Real-Time Embedded Linux as a Real-Time operating system for mobile robots.

  • We have designed embedded web sewer system and ported Linux operating system version 2.4.5 at our system. And then We implemented to control and monitor widely separated hardware and implemented to monitor widely separated image using CMOS image sensor HV7131B. Web server is the Boa web server with General Public License. We designed for this system using of Intel's SA1110 ARM core base processor and connecting input and output device at GPIO port of SA1110. Device driver of General purpose I/O for Embedded Linux OS is designed. And then the application program controlling driver is implemented to use of common gate interface C language. User is available to control and monitor at client PC. This method have benefit to reduce the Expenditure of hardware design and development time against PC base system and have various and capacious application against firmware base system.

안드로이드 기반 스마트 캠 방식의 저가형 자동차 번호판 인식 시스템 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study On Low-cost LPR(License Plate Recognition) System Based On Smart Cam System using Android)

  • 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 운영체제를 기반으로 하는 스마트 캠 방식의 저가형 자동차 번호판 인식 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 휴대용 단말기와 서버로 구성된다. 단말기 하드웨어부는 ARM Cortex-A9(S5PV210) 프로세서로 이루어진 제어부, 전원부, 유무선통신부, 입출력부 등으로 구성된다. 단말기에 사용되는 카메라와 WiFi 모듈을 위한 리눅스 커널을 포팅하고 전용 디바이스 드라이버를 개발하였다. 번호판 인식 알고리즘은 캐니 에지검출기를 사용한 번호판 후보영역 설정, 레이블링을 이용한 번호판 번호 추출, 템플릿 매칭을 이용한 번호인식 등으로 구현된다. 단말기에 의하여 인식된 번호는 사용자가 소지한 휴대폰을 통하여 원격지의 서버에 전송되어 차량상태를 데이터베이스에서 검색하여 다시 단말기로 전송 해주게 된다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템을 효용성을 입증하기 위하여 자연환경에서 사용자가 직접 단말기를 휴대하고 임의의 차량 번호판을 촬영하여 인식률을 확인한 결과, 95%의 인식률을 보였다. 제안된 시스템은 저가형의 휴대용 번호판 인식기에 적합하며, 안드로이드 운영체제를 사용함으로써 장기간 사용 시에도 시스템의 안정성을 가능케 하였다.

  • 임베디드 웹서버를 설계하고 리눅스 OS 를 포팅하여 원격지 하드웨어의 제어와 감시 시스템을 구현하였다 리눅스는 2.4.1 버전을 ARM720T보드에 포팅했으며 웹서버는 GPL(General Public License)규약인 Boa web server를 사용했다. 원격지 감시와 제어를 위해 Cirrus Logic사의 ARM720T 칩인 EP7312의 GPIO(General Purpose Inpout Output) 포트에 입출력 디바이스 연결시켜 실험하였다. GPIO 장치 드라이버를 작성하였고, 이를 구동시키는 응용프로그램은 리눅스용 C언어를 CGI프로그램화시켜 클라이언트 PC의 웹브라우저에서 제어와 감시가 가능하게 했다 이는 기존의 PC기반의 웹서버를 사용하는 것 보다 하드웨어 설계 비용을 절감할 수 있고 운영체제없이 구현되는 웹서버보다는 응용범위의 다양성과 개발기간단축이라는 장점을 가지고 있다.

초보운전자 생애 첫 교통법규 위반기간에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Identifying the Factors Affecting the First Traffic Violation Duration by Novice Drivers)

  • PURPOSES : This study deals with first traffic violations occurred by novice drivers, which may be associated with traffic accidents. The objective of this study is to identify what kinds of drivers' characteristics influence on duration till the first traffic violation. METHODS : For the study, Survival Analysis and Cox proportional hazard model, that are usually used in the medical field, were employed. Survival Analysis was conducted to investigate whether there exist differences in survival duration by each covariate, whereas Cox proportional hazard model was used to identify significant factors that affect survival duration till novice drivers violate traffic regulations for the first time after getting a driver license. RESULTS : The results of Survival Analysis indicate that female, age (less than 21), low-frequency examinee of written exam, and non-crash involved drivers have longer duration till the first violation compared to male, greater than 21 years old, high-frequency examinee of written exam, and crash involved drivers, respectively. For the Cox proportional hazard model, license class 1 acquisitor was found to increase the survival duration till the first traffic violation was made, while male, age of 21-24, age of 25-34, age of 45-54, and crash involved drivers were more likely to reduce the survival duration. CONCLUSIONS : Absolutely, traffic violation is closely related to traffic accidents and all of the drivers should keep the traffic regulations to enhance highway safety. The results of this study might provide some insights to construct safe road environments by controlling the factors that reduce the traffic violation duration of novice drivers.

영상 처리를 이용한 IoT 기반 웨어러블 스마트 안전장비 (IoT based Wearable Smart Safety Equipment using Image Processing)

  • With the recent expansion of electric kickboards and bicycle sharing services, more and more people use them. In addition, the rapid growth of the delivery business due to the COVID-19 has significantly increased the use of two-wheeled vehicles and personal mobility. As the accident rate increases, the rule related to the two-wheeled vehicles is changed to 'mandatory helmets for kickboards and single-person transportation' and was revised to prevent boarding itself without driver's license. In this paper, we propose a wearable smart safety equipment, called SafetyHelmet, that can keep helmet-wearing duty and lower the accident rate with the communication between helmets and mobile devices. To make this function available, we propose a safe driving assistance function by notifying the driver when an object that interferes with driving such as persons or other vehicles are detected by applying the YOLO v5 object detection algorithm. Therefore it is intended to provide a safer driving assistance by reducing the failure rate to identify dangers while driving single-person transportation.

RTEMS 오픈소스 운영체제를 위한 virtio 네트워크 드라이버 개발 (Development of virtio Network Driver for RTEMS Open-Source Operating System)

  • RTEMS는 GPLv2 기반의 라이선스를 사용하는 오픈소스 실시간 운영체제로 인공위성과 같은 항공우주 분야의 시스템에서 사용된다. 이러한 시스템들은 하드웨어 플랫폼과 관련된 문제로 인해 개발 환경 구축이 어려우며, 가상화 기술을 통해 이를 해결할 수 있다. 그러나 가상화 오버헤드로 인한 실행 시간증가와 성능 저하가 실시간 응용의 시간 동작을 변화시키며, 따라서 이를 최소화해야한다. 본 논문에서는 RTEMS를 위한 virtio front-end 네트워크 드라이버를 구현하여 네트워크 I/O 가상화 오버헤드를 완화시킨다. 또한 구현된 드라이버를 오픈소스 소프트웨어 기여를 위해 RTEMS 커뮤니티에 제출하는 과정과 커뮤니티의 다양한 요구사항들을 반영하는 과정을 설명한다.

First Aid Education for High School Students - Focusing on CPR, AED installation and application -

  • This research, by analyzing the current first aid education status in K district, Seoul and comparing first aid education systems in other developed countries, introduces the need of first aid/Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) education with Automated External Defibrillator(AED) usage to high school students, who are on the verge of becoming adults. The thorough research shows that schoolsshould be appointed as mandatory facilities for AEDs by laws and execute first aid education to their students. Only through organized and consistent first aid education would the students develop into true volunteers who not only have altruistic minds, but the ability to fluently adapt to medical emergency and properly use AED. In addition, the research also outlines various laws that could be legislated such as having to master the basic degrees of first aid education before getting driver's license and graduating high school so that more people become aware of first aid.
