전단벽의 최소 층변위 및 에너지 소산성능 (The Limiting Drift and Energy Dissipation Ratio for Shear Walls Based on Structural Testing)

  • 현재 미국에서는 강한 지진지역에서의 골조구조에 대한 새로운 실험규정이 만들어지고 있으며, 이의 목적은 비교적 신뢰성이 높은 실험결과를 얻고 이들 실험결과를 다른 연구자들이 서로 이용 가능하도록 하는 것이다. 이 실험규정에서는 실험방법 뿐만 아니라, 실험후의 분석방법 특히, 실험체가 최소한 보유하여야 할 층위변각, 에너지 소산성능, 강성, 강도 등이 규정되어 있다. 이러한 지침이 설정됨으로 인하여, 여태까지 주관적으로 평가된 시험결과의 분석들이 비교적 객관적으로 평가될 수 있게 될 것으로 보여진다. 전단벽 구조 역시 지진저항에 매우 효과적인 시스템으로서, 이러한 실험지침이 필요하다. 그러나 전단벽 구조의 주 부재인 전단벽은 횡력에 의해서 발생하는 구조물의 횡변위를 억제시키고, 강성과강도를 증가시키는 역할을 하기 때문에 그 거동 특성이 골조주조와는 다소 다르다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 전단벽의 층변위와 에너지 소산성능에대하여 연구를 하고 구조실험시 요구된느 적정 값들을 제시하고자 하였다. 구조실험시(반복하중실험), 높은 지진지역의 전단벽 구조가 보유해야할 최소변형능력(횡변위)을 구하기 위해 기존 연구자들에 의해 실험된일련의실험자료들을 분석할 뿐만 아니라 전단벽을 켄틸레버로 이상화하여 층변위를 형상비, 변위 연성비로 관계로 나타내고, 현재 각 국가의 내진설계 규정에서 정하고 있는 건물의 층변위각을 고려하여 전단벽의 최소 층변위를 제시하였다. 또한 미국의 NEHRP 규준에서 규정하고 있는 소산에너지와 감쇠의 관계를 이용하고, 변위 연성비를 도입하여 구조실험시 요구되는 전단벽의 최소 소산에너지값을 제시하였다.

반강접 접합부 배치에 따른 비가새 5층 철골골조구조물의 비탄성 시간이력해석 (Inelastic Time History Analysis of an Unbraced 5-Story Steel Framed Structure for Arrangement of Semi-Rigid Connection)

  • 본 연구에서는 반강접 접합부 배치에 따른 구조물 거동특성을 파악하기 위하여 KBC2005 건축구조설계기준으로 비가새 5층 철골 구조물을 설계하여 모든 접합부를 완전 강접합부와 반강접 접합부로 이상화한 경우 그리고 반강접 접합부를 수직배치 및 수평배치한 경우에 대하여 비탄성 시간이력 구조해석을 실시하였다. 철골 보 및 기둥의 모멘트-곡률 관계는 화이버모델을 이용하여 확인하였으며 반강접 접합부의 모멘트-회전각 관계는 3-매개변수 파워모델 그리고 철골 보, 기둥 및 접합부의 이력거동은 3-매개변수 모델을 이용하여 나타내었다. 4개 지진파에 대한 재현주기 2400년 위험수준에 해당하는 최대지반가속도와 5% 층간변위에 대한 푸쉬오버 구조해석의 최대밑면전단력 발생 최대지반가속도에 대하여 시간이력 구조해석을 실시하여 밑면전단력, 지붕층 변위, 층간변위, 접합부 요구연성도, 기둥, 보 및 접합부의 최대휨모멘트 그리고 소성힌지 분포 등을 확인하였다. 반강접 접합부를 수직적으로 외부에 배치할수록 최대밑면전단력과 층간변위는 감소하며, 수평적으로 상부층에 배치할수록 접합부 요구연성도가 감소하였다. 푸쉬오버 구조해석과 시간이력 구조해석에서 최대층간변위 발생 위치가 다르고 크기는 푸쉬오버 구조해석에서 과대평가되었다. 밑면전단력, 층간변위 및 접합부 요구연성도를 위한 가장 바람직한 반강접 접합부 배치는 수직적으로 외부에 배치하는 것이다.

Shear response estimate for squat reinforced concrete walls via a single panel model

  • Squat reinforced concrete walls require enough shear strength in order to promote flexural yielding, which creates the need for designers of an accurate method for strength prediction. In many cases, especially for existing buildings, strength estimates might be insufficient when more accurate analyses are needed, such as pushover analysis. In this case, estimates of load versus displacement are required for building modeling. A model is developed that predicts the shear load versus shear deformation of squat reinforced concrete walls by means of a panel formulation. In order to provide a simple, design-oriented tool, the formulation considers the wall as a single element, which presents an average strain and stress field for the entire wall. Simple material constitutive laws for concrete and steel are used. The developed models can be divided into two categories: (i) rotating-angle and (ii) fixed-angle models. In the first case, the principal stress/strain direction rotates for each drift increment. This situation is addressed by prescribing the average normal strain of the panel. The formation of a crack, which can be interpreted as a fixed principal strain direction is imposed on the second formulation via calibration of the principal stress/strain direction obtained from the rotating-angle model at a cracking stage. Two alternatives are selected for the cracking point: fcr and 0.5fcr (post-peak). In terms of shear capacity, the model results are compared with an experimental database indicating that the fixed-angle models yield good results. The overall response (load-displacement) is also reasonable well predicted for specimens with diagonal compression failure.

  • In Super Junction (SJ) MOSFETs, charge balance is the most important issue of the SJ fabrication process. In order to achieve the best electrical characteristics, such as breakdown voltage and on-resistance, the N-type and P-type drift regions must be fully depleted when the drain bias approaches the breakdown voltage, which is known as the charge balance condition. In conventional charge balance analysis, based on multi-epi process SJ MOSFETs, analytical model has only N, P pillar width and doping concentration parameter. But applying a conventional charge balance principle to trench filling process, easier than Multi-epi process, is impossible due to the missing of the trench angle parameter. To achieve much more superior characteristics of on-resistance in trench filling SJ MOFET, the appropriate trench angle is necessary. So in this paper, modulated charge balance analysis is proposed, in which a trench angle parameter is added. The proposed method is validated using the TCAD simulation tool.

  • In this paper, the error compensation method of the low-cost IMU is proposed. In general, the position and attitude error calculated by accelerometers and gyros grows with time. Therefore the additional information is required to compensate the drift. The attitude angles can be bound accelerometer mixing algorithm and the heading angle can be aided by single antenna GPS velocity. The Kalman filter is used for error compensation. The result is verified by comparing with the attitude calculated by Attitude Heading Reference System with Micro Electro Mechanical System for a basis

  • Star tracker placement configuration is proposed and the properness of the placement configuration is verified for star tracker's sun avoidance angle requirement. Precision attitude determination system is successfully designed using a gyro-star tracker inertial reference system for a candidate LEO spacecraft. Elaborate kalman filter formulation for a spacecraft is proposed for covariance analysis. The covariance analysis is performed to verify the capability of the proposed attitude determination system. The analysis results show that the attitude determination error and drift rate error are good enough to satisfy the mission of a candidate spacecraft.

가속도 센서를 이용한 보행 정보 및 보행자 위치 추정 (Pedestrian Gait Estimation and Localization using an Accelerometer)

  • This paper presents the use of 3 axis accelerometer for getting the gait information including the number of gaits, stride and walking distance. Travel distance is usually calculated from the double integration of the accelerometer output with respect to time; however, the accumulated errors due to the drift are inevitable. The orientation change of the accelerometer also causes error because the gravity is added to the measured acceleration. Unless three axis orientations are completely identified, the accelerometer alone does not provide correct acceleration for estimating the travel distance. We proposed a way of minimizing the error due to the change of the orientation. Pedestrian localization is implemented with the heading angle and the travel distance. Heading angle is estimated from the rate gyro and the magnetic compass measurements. The performance of the localization is presented with experimental data.

Effect of Load Condition on Turning Performance of a VLCC in Adverse Weather Conditions

  • The load condition significantly influences ship maneuverability in calm water. In this research, the effect of the load condition on turning performance of a very large crude oil carrier (VLCC) sailing in adverse weather conditions is investigated by an MMG-based maneuvering simulation method. The relative drift direction of the ship in turning to the wave direction is $20^{\circ}-30^{\circ}$ in ballast load condition (NB) and full load condition (DF) with a rudder angle $35^{\circ}$ and almost constant for any wind (wave) directions. The drifting displacement in turning under NB becomes larger than that under DF at the same environmental condition. Advance $A_d$ and tactical diameter $D_t$ become significantly small with an increasing Beaufort scale in head wind and waves when approaching, although $A_d$ and $D_t$ are almost constant in following wind and waves. In beam wind and waves, the tendency depends on the plus and minus of the rudder angle.

  • To achieve the challenges of low-cost MEMS gyros for the precise self-localization of mobile robots, this paper examines an effective method of minimizing the drift on the heading angle that relies solely on integration of rate signals from a gyro. The main idea of the proposed approach is to use wavelet de-noising filter in order to reduce random noise which affects short-term performances. The proposed method was applied to Epson XV3500 gyro and the performances are verified by the comparisons with an existing commercial gyro module of vacuum cleaning robots.

  • The SiOC film of carbon centered system was prepared using bistrimethylsilylmethane and oxygen mixed precursor by the chemical vapor deposition. The chemical properties of the SiOC film were analyzed by the I-V measurement and FTIR spectra. The main bond of 950~1200 cm-1 was composed of the Si-C, Si-O-C and Si-O bonds. The leakage current of the SiOC film increased with the increasing of the carbon content, and the drift of the current was similar to the Si-O-C bond content.
