  • This paper describes a computer aided process planning system called "Deep-Drawing", "Deep-Drawing" is designed for the drawing sequence of cylindrical and rectangular cups with or without taper and flange. The computer program has written in BASIC language with personal computer. Design Rules for process planning are formulated from process limitation, plasticity theory and experimental results including the know-how of many manufacturing factories. "Deep-Drawing" Capabilities include the analysis of drawing sequence by the determination of optimal drawing ratio, the determination of intermediate shape, dimensions, punch and die radius etc., the calculation of drawing loads and blank holder force to perform each drawing step, and the graphic outputs for the operation sheet.tputs for the operation sheet.

A Study of Cup forming by double Stretch-Drawing Process (원통의 2단 인장드로잉 성형에 관한 연구)

  • It is clearly demonstrated that deeper cups could be formed by single and double stretch-drawings from smaller circular blanks due to such wall-thinning action than in the usual deep-drawing of larger blanks. From this fact, it is emphasized that the deep-drawability of a sheet metal Is not evaluated simply by the conventional L.D.R (limiting drawing ratio), but the depth of the drawn cup should also be taken into account. Many experimental data about various metals and thicknesses given in this paper offer a valuable information in this process for more general use which recommends to replace the conventional deep-drawing process by the stretch-drawing process both for single and double operations. In the single stretch-drawing, it is also confirmed that a deeper cup can be produced by raising the blank-holding force at later stage of operation.

  • Fundamental and informative data of axi-symmetric stretch-drawing of several sheetmetals with thicknesses of 0.7-1.0mm are presented both for single and double operations. Very small radius is applied to the die profile (or-shoulder) ion all operations. to induce wall-thinning by the effect of bending-under-tension from which the name 'stretch-drawing' comes.   • Drawing is a mechanical operation attenuating material thickness to an appropriate level for the next processing or end usage. When the input material has a form of bundle or bundles made of very thin and long shaped wires or fibers, this attenuation operation is called 'bundle drawing' or 'drafting'. Bundle drawing is being used widely in manufacturing micro sized wires or staple yarns. However, the bundle processed by this operation has more or less defects in the evenness of linear density. Such irregularities cause many problems not only for the product quality but also for the efficiency of the next successive processes. In this research a mathematical model for the dynamic behavior of the bundle fluid is to be set up on the basis of general physical laws containing physical variables, i.e. linear density and velocity as the dynamic state variables of the bundle fluid. The governing equations resulting from the modeling show that they appear in a slightly different form from what they do in a continuum fluid. Then, the governing equations system is simplified in a steady state and the bundle dynamics is simulated, showing that the shape of the velocity profiles depends on two model parameters. Experiments confirm that the model parameters are to be well adjusted to show a coincidence with the theoretical analysis. The higher the drawing ratio and drawing speed we, the more sensitive becomes the bundle flow to exogenous disturbances.

  • In ultrasonic vibration drawing, the drawing forces can be reduced by applying ultrasonically oscillating dies. Ultrasonic vibration drawing has been considered as a means of accommodating high-level drawing processes such as shaped wire, ultrafine wire, and the wire drawing operation in semidry or dry condition. Prior studies were attempted to analyze the mechanism of improved drawing performances, such as reduced drawing force and improved lubrication characteristic. However, researches on design rule for ultrasonic vibration drawing system are not yet carried out. The principal objectives of this work are to design a set of tooling capable to superimpose the oscillations and to observe by experiments the influence of the ultrasonic oscillations on the wire drawing.

  • Today, the development of digitized information media and info-communications are bringing many changes. Due to the development of IT thechnology, we can learn wherever, whenever, regardless of time and place. Machine drawing subject is a very important in mechanical engineering course, but it's studyed only basic theory in a short period, average 1~2weeks. So that, students think that the mechanical drawing is of minor importance. Such ideas make them difficult to impove sense of space in isometric drawing and drawing skill. Therefore, in this paper, augmented reality-based contents through the system, Mechanical Drawing of education to meet the effectiveness and satisfaction, student learning can be spontaneously it was construct self-system. And, Theoretical part of the Mechanical Drawing is proposed ensure more efficient and easier training. In this paper, we were test operation for user effectualness of proposed service at Korea Polytechnics Colleges a industrial facilities management in Daegu. Target user are 66 students, and The students were divided into experimental group and comparison group. Experimental results, experimental group was able to do systematically experience many Projection Drawing and Pictorial Drawing in short schooltime. And, The test operation results showed that have the possibility to meet education effectiveness and user satisfaction in this augmented reality-based contents system.

  • The limit drawing ratio (LDR) is a major process parameter in the process design of deep drawing. If the actual drawing ratio is greater than the LDR for a particular stage then an intermediate stage has to b added the process sequence to avoid failure during the drawing operation and the optimal process design considering for the first-drawing and redrawing by using finite element method combined with ductile fracture criterion. From the results of finrte element analysis the optimal value of drawing ratio is obtained which contributes to the more uniform distribution of thickess and the smaller values of the ductile fracture infinal cup.

  • From a manufacturing standpoint it would be desirable to monitor the degradation of drawing die, that is essential for the maintenance of die quality, the evaluation of product integrity and the reducing scrap. Acoustic emission is powerful method in monitoring fine wire drawing process, especially in detecting the die fracture at early stage. Experiments also suggested that acoustic emission sigals contained valuable information regarding the stage of a drawing process such as the surface appearance of products and the condition of lubrication. These informations are AE monitoring techniques a possible tool in monitoring the drawing process operation. In order to approach this, this paper discusses the nature of acoustic emission signal presented which illustrate the effects of wire and die material, lubricants, and drawing speed on the generation and the mean voltage level of acoustic emission signal. From these experimental, results, we understanded controlling factors of acoustic emission generation.

  • Locking sheet is to display the contents of interlocking equipment for safe train drive in stations. It is being used as a basic information for interlocking equipment and for route control condition and the discussion for train operation between related parties. In spite of importance of this, there was no other way except depending on the work by hands from each stage(drawing, examination, discussion, approval) due to non-existing any tool. It is written it takes 30days from drawing to approval by procedures. However, it is required over the days in real time due to argument of each party. Furthermore on drawing of locking sheet, special conditions applied in accordance with situations of each station occasionally are different depending on the person in charge. Therefore, it is urgent to make up Logic Tree to accept special conditions of all stations. Automation Program for Drawing and Examination of Locking Sheet is to improve inefficient interlocking operation which was operated by hands in accordance with custom as automated system. The target of this program is to minimize the processing time and potential errors by personal work and set up standards for Logic Tree of special condition.
