Fair Queueing has been studied only on wired network. When it is applied to wireless netowork, the collision phenomenon makes a problem.'rho information of queue of MT cannot be transferred to fair queueing algorithm In real time easily. We propose wireless fair queueing scheduler that protects short term farirness and long term fairness. We developed it in TDMA/TDD enviroment. Our scheme also supports uplink and downlink at the same time. And it can make subframe boundary based on fair scheduling algorithm.

Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) is one of the air interface techniques proposed for the third generation (3G) mobile communication system. WCDMA was selected because it fulfills the IMT-2000 requirements for higher data rate trans mission, support of multimedia capabilities and other flexible services due to its variable bit rates and larger bandwidth, improved capacity and coverage, efficient power control and support for advanced and improved detector structures. Performance evaluation of 3G wireless network through simulation plays an important role in the design and implementation of the actual system, aiding the wireless system designer by providing them the necessary performance conformance statistics prior to implementation. In accordance with this goal, a simulator engine was developed entirely on a MATLAB platform to emulate the behaviour of the WCDMA air interface for both the uplink and downlink in a real world fading mobile environment. This paper discuss the development of the simulator along with a brief description of its functionalities and user interface. The WCDMA air interface mode focused in this paper is in accordance to the 3GPPs frequency division duplex (FDD) mode and restricted to the physical layer description. Performance results for the selected cases for the downlink, uplink, varying mobile velocity and sampling rates are also provided.

It is expected that device-to-device (D2D) communication is allowed to underlay future cellular networks such as IMT-Advanced for spectrum efficiency. This article studies the mechanisms of D2D communication and interference avoidance when the D2D subsystem reuses uplink resources and downlink spectrums with a cellular system, respectively. We firstly propose an effective scheme to establish and maintain D2D communication. Moreover, a novel method to deal with the resource allocation and interference avoidance issues by utilizing the network peculiarity of a hybrid network to share the uplink resource is proposed. Most research focuses on reusing the uplink spectrums, but how to share the downlink frequency bands is seldom addressed. To share the downlink spectrums and avoid the interference to the primary cellular devices, a labeled time slots based mechanism is proposed. Implementation details are described in a real cellular system and simulation results prove that satisfying performance can be achieved by using the proposed mechanisms.

In this paper, union upper bound on convolutional coded bit error rates (BER) is derived for downlink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) networks. According to the numerical results, for the small network loads, the BER performance with Laplacian decoding metric outperforms the BER performance with Gaussian decoding metric under downlink OFDMA networks with Viterbi decoder.

In cognitive radio networks, a secondary user opportunistically accesses an empty channel based on periodic sensing results for avoiding possible interference to the primary users. However, local sensing does not guarantee the full protection of the primary users because hidden primary receivers may exist within the interference range of the secondary transmitter. To protect primary systems and simultaneously to maximize utilization of the secondary users, we need to derive carefully designed coexistence solutions for various network scenarios. In this paper, we propose coexistence conditions without any harmful interference in accordance with the uplink/downlink schedule and user position. We have classified the coexistence conditions into four different scenario cases depending on the provided information to the secondary network basestations. Computer simulation results demonstrated that the proposed method can be applied to the real cognitive radio system to improve the communication probability of CR devices.

This paper studies the design of a multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where a base station (BS) transmits independent messages to multiple users. The remarkable "dirty paper coding (DPC)" result was first presented by Costa that the capacity does not change if the Gaussian interference is known at the transmitter noncausally. While several implementable DPC schemes have been proposed recently for single-user dirty-paper channels, DPC is still difficult to implement directly in practical multiuser MIMO channels. In this paper, we propose a network channel matrix triangulation (NMT) algorithm for utilizing interference known at the transmitter. The NMT algorithm decomposes a multiuser MIMO channel into a set of parallel, single-input single-output dirty-paper subchannels and then successively employs the DPC to each subchannel. This approach allows us to extend practical single-user DPC techniques to multiuser MIMO downlink cases. We present the sum rate analysis for the proposed scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes approach the sum rate capacity of the multiuser MIMO downlink at moderate signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values.

The current cellular communications are optimized for low mobility users, meaning that their performance is degraded at high speed. Therefore, passengers in a high-speed train experience very poor radio link quality due to the significantly large number of simultaneous handovers. In addition, wireless data traffic is expanding exponentially in trains, subways and buses due to the widespread use of smartphones and mobile devices. To solve the inherent problem of cellular communication networks and meet the growing traffic demand, this paper proposes the mobile hotspot network of a millimeter-wave communication system as a mobile wireless backhaul. This paper describes the physical layer design of uplink and downlink in the proposed system, and the performances of uplink and downlink are evaluated under Rician fading channel conditions. The implemented baseband prototype of the proposed millimeter-wave communication modem is presented. This system can provide a Gbps data rate service in high-speed trains carrying hundreds of wireless Internet users.

KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has been developing the KPLO(Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter) for Korean first lunar exploration, and analysing various subjects for the mission success. Especially the performance of the communication is one of important factors, because massive scientific and technical data acquired by multiple payloads might be transferred to ground stations on the Earth. In this paper, we explained the study on the 1-day average downlink capacity based on the visibility analysis between ground stations and KPLO, and described its results.

Power-efficient base station (BS) operation is one of the important issues in future green cellular networks. Previously well-known BS operation schemes, the cell zooming scheme and the cell wilting and blossoming scheme, require tight cooperation between cells in cellular networks. With the previous schemes, the non-cooperative BSs of a serving cell and neighboring cells could cause coverage holes between the cells, thereby seriously degrading the quality of service as well as the power saving efficiency of the cellular networks. In this paper, we propose a novel power-efficient BS operation scheme for green downlink heterogeneous cellular networks, in which the networks virtually adjust the coverage of a serving macrocell (SM) and neighboring macrocells (NMs) without adjusting the transmission power of the BSs when the SM is lightly loaded, and the networks turn off the BS of the SM when none of active users are associated with the SM. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme significantly improves the power saving efficiency without degrading the quality of service (e.g., system throughput) of a downlink heterogeneous LTE network and outperforms the previous schemes in terms of system throughput and power saving efficiency. In particular, with the proposed scheme, macrocells are able to operate independently without the cooperation of a SM and NMs for green heterogeneous cellular networks.
In vertically overlaid cellular systems, a temporary traffic concentration can occur in a hot-spot area, and this adversely affects overall system capacity. In this paper, we develop an adaptive hot-spot operating scheme (AHOS) to mitigate the negative effects from the nonuniform distribution of user location and the variation in the mixture of QoS requirements in orthogonal frequency division multiple access downlink systems. Here, the base station in a macrocell can control the operation of picocells within the cell, and turns them on or off according to the system overload estimation function. In order to determine whether the set of picocells is turned on or off, we define an AHOS gain index that describes the number of subcarriers saved to the macrocell by turning a specific picocell on. For initiating the picocell OFF procedure, we utilize the changes in traffic concentration and co-channel interference to the neighboring cells. According to computer simulation, the AHOS has been proved to have maximize system throughput while maintaining a very low QoS outage probability under various system scenarios in both a single-cell and multi-cell environments.
