케스케이드 실험을 위한 벽면형상 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study of Wall Shape Design for Cascade Experiment)

  • In a double-passage cascade apparatus, only two blades are installed in order to increase the accuracy of experimental result by applying bigger blade than the size of multi-blades on the same apparatus. However, this causes difficulties to make correct periodic condition. In this study, sidewalls are designed to meet periodic condition without removing the operating fluid or adjusting tail boards. Surface Mach number on the blade surface is applied to a responsible variable, and 12 design variables which are related with sidewall profile control are selected. A gradient based optimization is adopted for wall design and CFX-11 is used for the internal flow computation. The computed result shows that it could obtain the same flow structure by modifying only the sidewalls of the double-passage cascade apparatus.

터보분자펌프의 성능해석에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A numerical study of the performance of a turbomolecular pump)

  • In the free molecular flow range, the pumping performance of a turbomolecular pump has been predicted by calculation of the transmission probability which employs the integral method and the test particle Monte-Carlo method. Also, new approximate method combining the double stage solutions, so called double-approximation, is presented here. The calculated values of transmission probability for the single stage agree quantitatively with the previous known numerical results. For a six-stage pump, the Monte-Carlo method is employed to calculate the overall transmission probability for the entire set of blade rows. When the results of the approximate method combining the single stage solutions are compared with those of the Monte-Carlo method at dimensionless blade velocity ratio C=0.4, the previous known approximate method overestimates as much as 34% than does the Monte-Carlo method. But, the new approximate method gives more accurate results, whose relative error is 10% compared to the Monte-Carlo method, than does the previous approximate method.

  • 진공청소기 브러쉬의 소음원인과 소음특성에 관하여 고찰하였다. 먼저, 소음원인을 분석하기위해서 수치해석 결과를 토대로 유동저항을 분석하였다. 그 결과 청소기 브러쉬 소음의 주요 원인은 팬회전에 의한 톤소음이 아니고, 브러쉬 내부의 유체역학적인 특성에 의한 유동저항 증가로 인해서 발생하는 유동소음임을 알 수 있었으며, 그 타당성을 무향실에서 음향파워 측정 실험을 통해서 확인하였다. 다음으로, 소음측정 실험을 통해서 브러쉬의 최적 설계를 통해 저감할 수 있는 최대 소음저감 한계가 4dBA 임을 확인하였다. 팬 블레이드 개수, 공기 흡입구 확장에 따른 소음 특성을 분석하였고, 이로부터 소음저감 한계가 너무 작아서 팬 블레이드 개수, 공기 흡입구 확장에 따른 소음 저감량이 2 dBA 이내로 작은 것을 알 수 있었다.

Visualizing test on the pass-through and collision characteristics of coarse particles in a double blade pump

  • As the key equipment in deep ocean mining, the slurry pump suffers from wear and blocking problems. In this paper, high-speed photography technique is applied to track the movement rule of single particle of the coarse particle solid-liquid two-phase flow in a double blade slurry pump. The influences of particle diameter and particle density on the pass-through and collision characteristics of particles are analyzed as well. The results show that the average of the passing pump time first decreases and then increases when the particle diameter increases. The average of the passing pump time decreases by 22.7%, when the particle density increases from $1.09g/cm^3$ to $1.75g/cm^3$. Besides, the particle density has great influence on the location where the particle hits the tongue. Most particles of $1.09g/cm^3$ hit the tongue on the left side, while collision location of particles of $1.75g/cm^3$ is mainly on the top and at the right side of the tongue. The research can provide a basis for the optimization design of slurry pump in deep ocean mining system.

터어빈 블레이드의 통계적 파괴 분석 (Statistical Fracture Analysis of Turbine blade)

  • 본 연구에서는 통계적 파괴 분석으로서 turbine blade에서의 피로 수명이 최소화되는 최적 설계안을 도출하는 데에 있다. 그 방법으로서는 최소한의 피로 수명이 나오는 설계안을 위해 먼저 fillet radius를 고정한 후, 실험 계획법을 통하여 turbine blade에서의 최적의 X 와 Y 위치를 찾는다. 또한 six sigma analysis로서 X 와 Y 인자에서의 공정에 대한 불확실성을 계산한다. 그리고 robust design을 사용하여 주어진 불확실성 상태에서 최적의 fillet radius 값을 결정하여 최대의 von Mises 응력은 20%가 작아지고 피로수명이 두 배가 되는 최적의 설계를 할 수가 있었다.

  • The flow characteristics of double suction pump are investigated by numerically Calculations are performed by using SIMPLE algorithm at the design and off-design points. Symmetric nature of flow fields in blade channels is discovered at design point, but asymmetirc effects are discovered at the off-design point. Numerical results show that the formation of secondary flow in volute of double suction pump shows different trends when compared with the case of single suction pump. Also results show that double vortices are formed in the volute cross section.

고 아음속 터빈 깃 주위의 열유동 및 내부 열전달에 관한 수치해석 연구 (A Numerical Investigation of External and Internal Heat Transfer in A High Subsonic in Turbine Cascade)

  • Developments of numerical methods are very important to design and analysis for a high subsonic turbine blade. In general, Analysis by experimental investigation has needed a lot of human resources and required time, indispensably, and equipments still have a limit to measure in conditions of high temperature. Rapid technological developments of CPU and integration level of memory make it possible to advance computation with almost exactly simulation so, recent developments of numerical methods are in spotlight. In the present study, the panel method, which is well-known as relatively simplified numerical method, and 2-dimensional ordinary differential Falkner-Skan equation were computed in order to analyze the outer flow, and FVM-based solid heat transfer equation, was also computed to forecast the temperature distribution of the airfoil and the turbine blade. Unstructured grid was constructed in the turbine blade, which has double cooling holes, in order to analyze the internal heat transfer. Cooling fluid was assumed as fully-developed turbulent flow and that circulated in cooling holes.

2피치 유로의 캐스케이드 모델을 위한 벽면설계에 관한 연구 (Sidewalls Design for a Double-Passage Cascade Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 선형 캐스케이드 실험장치의 유로를 캐스케이드 피치의 두배 넓이로 설정하고 두 개의 블레이드만을 설치하였다. 따라서 동일한 실험장치에서 다수개의 블레이드를 설치하는 경우에 비하여 큰 블레이드에서 실험이 가능하도록 하였다. 아울러 두 개의 블레이드 설치에 따른 주기조건의 어려움을 해소하기 위하여 실험장치 내의 작동유체의 배출이나 꼬리판의 조정을 하지 않아도 주기조건이 되도록 하는 실험장치의 벽면을 설계하였다. 이를 위하여 주기조건에서 얻어진 블레이드 표면에서의 마하수와 동일한 결과가 얻어지도록 목적함수를 설정하였으며, 설계변수로는 벽면의 형상변경과 관련이 있는 12개의 변수를 사용하였다. 벽면의 설계는 기울기 기반의 최적화법을 사용하였으며, 내부유동장의 계산은 상용코드인 CFX-11을 사용하였다. 두 결과의 비교에서 벽면의 조정만으로도 동일한 유동특성이 얻어질 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Development of The New High Specific Speed Fixed Blade Turbine Runner

  • The paper concerns the description of the step by step development process of the new fixed blade runner called "Mixer" suitable for the uprating of the Francis turbines units installed at the older low head hydropower plants. In the paper the details of hydraulic and mechanical design are presented. Since the rotational speed of the new runner is significantly higher then the rotational speed of the original Francis one, the direct coupling of the turbine to the generator can be applied. The maximum efficiency at prescribed operational point was reached by the geometry optimization of two most important components. In the first step the optimization of the draft tube geometry was carried out. The condition for the draft tube geometry optimization was to design the new geometry of the draft tube within the original bad draft tube shape without any extensive civil works. The runner blade geometry optimization was carried out on the runner coupled with the draft tube domain. The blade geometry of the runner was optimized using automatic direct search optimization procedure. The method used for the objective function minimum search is a kind of the Nelder-Mead simplex method. The objective function concerns efficiency, required net head and cavitation features. After successful hydraulic design the modal and stress analysis was carried out on the prototype scale runner. The static pressure distribution from flow simulation was used as a load condition. The modal analysis in air and in water was carried out and the results were compared. The final runner was manufactured in model scale and it is going to be tested in hydraulic laboratory. Since the turbine with the fixed blade runner does not allow double regulation like in case of full Kaplan turbine, it can be profitably used mainly at power plants with smaller changes of operational conditions or in case with more units installed. The advantages are simple manufacturing, installation and therefore lower expenses and short delivery time for turbine uprating.

콤바인 예취날의 형상이 볏짚절단저항에 미치는 영향 (An effect of the shape of cutting blade on cutting resistance of rice stalk)

  • 본 연구는 예취시 벼 줄기의 절단 저항이 적은 콤바인 예취날 개발에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하기위하여 예취날의 윗날 내부에 면적 $75mm^2$의 평면 홈을 가공한 개발날과 시중에 판매되는 예취날을 사용하여 절단속도비와 볏짚의 함수율을 인자로 미예취시 예취날의 구동 마찰저항과 예취저항을 측정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 예취날 속도 0.37m/s에서 0.55m/s범위 내에서 단날 구동시의 예취날 구동 마찰저항은 홈 가공을 한 개발 날이 평균 $0.12kg{\cdot}m$로 홈 가공을 하지 않은 기존 날의 평균 $0.16kg{\cdot}m$에 비해 25% 낮게 나타났다. 또한 양날 구동방식에서도 홈 가공을 한 개발말이 기존날에 비해 평균 26%정도 구동 마찰저항이 낮게 나타났다. 2. 절단속도비 10.에서 1.5범위 내에서 홈을 가공한 개발날의 볏짚 예취 저항은 기존 날에 비해 볏짚의 함수율 14.2%, 55.3%, 84.2%에 대해 각각 평균 12%, 15%, 20% 낮게 나타났다. 3. 예취날 구동 방식에 따른 볏짚 예취 저항은 양날구동방식이 $0.20kg{\cdot}m$로 단날 구동방식의 $0.24kg{\cdot}m$에 비해 평균 17%정도 낮게 나타났다. 4. 예취날의 최적 속도비는 볏짚의 함수율 변화에 따라 다르게 나타났으며 함수율 14.2%, 84.2%에 대해 각각 1.2, 1.4로 나타났다.
