  • In this paper, we introduce double controlled cone metric spaces via two control functions. An example of a double controlled cone metric space by two incomparable functions, which is not a controlled metric space, is given. We also provide some fixed point results involving Banach type and Kannan type contractions in the setting of double controlled cone metric spaces.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of broadband double-cone antennas. The antenna is used to measure electromagnetic fields(2~5 GHz) radiated from a primary or a secondary electrode of a pole-transformer when partial discharge occurs inside the pole-transformer. The theoretical analysis is conducted using commercial software based on a finite difference time domain(FDTD) method. The parameters are a radius, and a height of the broadband double-cone antennas, and the number of posts on a ground plane. This paper examines influences of structural parameters of the broadband double-cone antennas on return loss. The results show that a condition for an optimum structure of broadband double-cone antennas exists. It also shows that the broadband double-cone antennas have radiation patterns similar to those of a dipole antenna. Therefore the broadband double-cone antennas are appropriate for the measurement of radiated electromagnetic fields from the pole-transformer. To verify the theoretical analysis, computed results are compared to experimental results.

  • In order to investigate the possibility of processing of brittle material by ball impact, the effects of boundary conditions about impact damage of soda-lime glass by small spheres were evaluated experimentally. It was investigated that crack appearance developed in soda-lime glass with boundary conditions of without sealing, single-sealing and double-sealing by impact velocity. The double-sealing was most effective in the development of perfect cone than other boundary condition. In case of double-sealing condition, PVC and Polyurethane sealing were more effective in producing a perfect cone formation than other sealing materials. The impact velocity range over which perfect cones were formed was influenced by both the contact area and diameter of impact particle.

  • Vertebrates with different habitats have different proportions of visual cells, with the rod cells responding to scotopic vision and the cone cells responding to photopic and color vision in their retinas. The present work studied whether the kinds and arrangement patterns of the cone cells and interlocking morphology of the lens were related to the kind of preys and habitats in the genus Zacco. The retinas were observed by a light microscopy using H-E staining method and the interlocking formula of the lens fibers were investigated by a scanning electron microscopy. The interlocking formula of the lens fibers of Z. temmincki is an ' anchor and socket ' connection, and that of Z. platypus is a ' ball and socket ' connection. The cone cells of Z. platypus and Z. temmincki constituted compacted mosaic patterns of row type. Away from the center, the double and single cone cells gradually increased in diameter. Zacco temmincki had identical double cone cells and Z. platypus had non-identical double and single cone cells. The eyes of Z. temminckifeeding on a moving aquatic insects in relative limpid water and swift current of mid and upper stream have better resolution than that of Z. platypus feeding on mainly adhesive algae and some aquatic insects in slightly turbid water of mid stream.

  • A histological study on the retina of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus was carried out by light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy as part of getting information about relation between its habitat and visual cells. The visual cells of the retina in M. anguillicaudatus, a bottom-dwelling freshwater pond loach in stagnant or slow waters such as swamps, reservoirs and paddy fields, consists of double cones and large rods. The cones form a row mosaic pattern in which the partners of double cones are linearly oriented with a large rod. In a double cone, the two members are unequal such that one cone may be longer than the other.

  • Axisymmetric compressible flow field induced by shock diffraction from a finite cone is investigated with experimental and computational methods. Double-exposure holographic interferograms show ima ges of the density field integrated along the light path. Using the sight-integrated density based on the Able transformation, the axisymmetric computational results are compared qualitatively with the experiment. In the present paper, we observed some distinguishing flow physics: the fault structure of vortex ring, the shock-vortex interaction, and the morphological transformation of shock waves.

  • Projectile shapes of the superdetonative ram accelerator have great effects on shock structures, detonation wave formation, and ram acceleration characteristics. In this study, cone-cylinder-cone, a baseline projectile configuration of the superdetonative combustion mode, double-cone configurations and power-law shape, have been numerically investigated to analyze the effect of the front/rear configuration changes, on the flow field around the projectile, detonation wave formation process, and projectile acceleration characteristics. Hence, a ram projectile configuration with conspicuously improved acceleration characteristics has been proposed by adjusting the double cone angle and height. The results provide useful information for the ram accelerator design optimization study.

  • This study reviewed the capturing performance of a canopy hood used in some melting processes of a casting manufacturing factory through a site survey. In addition, this study compared and evaluated the flow field and pressure field for the plans to enhance the hazardous air pollutants collection capacity by using CFD model. The case-2(flange attached + double hood) can be improved in terms of collection performance, but is expected to increase in hood static pressure by about 70% more than the existing structure, so it was shown that its site applicability is not good. It is judged that the shape of case-3(flange attached + double cone attached) is most suitable to improve the suction efficiency. This is because a double cone is installed at the center of the opening to concentrate the flow rate on the edge of the hood and control the hume rising to the center of the hood without a static pressure rise via the slope of the cone.
