  • 본 논문에서는 인터커넥트 라인을 구동하는 CMOS소자의 게이트 폭의 변화에 따라 소자 및 인터커넥트라인에 의한 RC 지연시간이 어떤 특성을 보이는지에 대하여 분석하였다. 인터커넥트 라인의 캐패시턴스 성분만이 주로 나타나는 구조에서는 MOSFET의 크기가 커질수록 전체 지연시간이 감소하는 특성을 보였다. 반면에 인터커넥트 라인의 저항 및 캐패시턴스 성분이 대등하게 지연시간에 영향을 미치는 구조에서는 전체회로의 지연시간이 최소가 되는 MOSFET 크기가 존재함을 수식적으로 제안하고 실험치와 비교하여 잘맞음을 증명하였다.

연동신호제어계에서의 교통류의 지연 -Random 지연을 중심으로- (Stochastic Delay at Linked Signals)

  • With respect to stochastic delays at linked signals the solid quantitative information has not been available as yet. On the basis of field data the values of "I" (variance-mean ration of flow) were related with the rate of flow. The stochastic delays with specific "I" values were obtained from the distribution of overflow queue, which were calculated by the use of Markov chains. This examination of the results led to the derivation of a simple method for calculating stochastic dclays through the introduction of "I" into Miller's model. The good agreement was shown between the model and the field. The relationships between the cycle lengths and delays were examinated in a large number of conditions with regard to degree of saturation. signal split and link length. Within the practical range of cycle length uniform delays were dominant and no critical point was found in terms of minimum, delay. In highly saturated conditions however the weight of stochastic delay is noticeable.

RC tree의 지연시간 예측 (RC Tree Delay Estimation)

  • As a new algorithm for RC tree delay estimation, we propose a $\tau$-model of the driver and a moment propagation method. The $\tau$-model represents the driver as a Thevenin equivalent circuit which has a one-time-constant voltage source and a linear resistor. The new driver model estimates the input voltage waveform applied to the RC more accurately than the k-factor model or the 2-piece waveform model. Compared with Elmore method, which is a lst-order approximation, the moment propagation method, which uses $\pi$-model loads to calculate the moments of the voltage waveform on each node of RC trees, gives more accurate results by performing higher-order approximations with the same simple tree walking algorithm. In addition, for the instability problem which is common to all the approximation methods using the moment matching technique, we propose a heuristic method which guarantees a stable and accureate 2nd order approximation. The proposed driver model and the moment propagation method give an accureacy close to SPICE results and more than 1000 times speedup over circuit level simulations for RC trees and FPGA interconnects in which the interconnect delay is dominant.

시-촉각 지연이 실감도에 미치는 영향 (The delay effect on reality in visual and haptic presentation)

  • 시각과 청각으로 표현된 디지털 콘텐츠가 감각표현을 확장하려는 연구가 활발하다. 최근에는 촉각 표현이 가능한 다양한 촉각 표현 시스템이 개발하여 촉감을 표현하는 디지털 콘텐츠 개발하고 있다. 하드웨어에 의한 촉감각 표현시 다른 감각과의 동기화가 중요한 표현 요소로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 햅틱(haptic)표현이 다른 감각에 비해 표현 지연 발생할 경우 실감도에 미치는 영향에 관한 것이다. 시각 및 햅틱 지연 시간을 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0(초)로 설정하여 각 지연에 대한 실감도 평가를 실시하여 선형 회귀 분석하였다. 촉각 지연 보다 시각 지연에서 실감도와 상관성을 보였으며 지연 시간이 길어질수록 실감도가 떨어지는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 그러므로 사용자는 촉감 표현에 대한 지연이 시각 지연 보다 관대한 것으로 사료된다.

Comparative Study on the Structural Dependence of Logic Gate Delays in Double-Gate and Triple-Gate FinFETs

  • A comparative study on the trade-off between the drive current and the total gate capacitance in double-gate (DG) and triple-gate (TG) FinFETs is performed by using 3-D device simulation. As the first result, we found that the optimum ratio of the hardmask oxide thickness ($T_{mask}$) to the sidewall oxide thickness ($T_{ox}$) is $T_{mask}/T_{ox}$=10/2 nm for the minimum logic delay ($\tau$) while $T_{mask}/T_{ox}$=5/1~2 nm for the maximum intrinsic gate capacitance coupling ratio (ICR) with the fixed channel length ($L_G$) and the fin width ($W_{fin}$) under the short channel effect criterion. It means that the TG FinFET is not under the optimal condition in terms of the circuit performance. Second, under optimized $T_{mask}/T_{ox}$, the propagation delay ($\tau$) decreases with the increasing fin height $H_{fin}$. It means that the FinFET-based logic circuit operation goes into the drive current-dominant regime rather than the input gate load capacitance-dominant regime as $H_{fin}$ increases. In the end, the sensitivity of $\Delta\tau/{\Delta}H_{fin}$ or ${{\Delta}I_{ON}}'/{\Delta}H_{fin}$ decreases as $L_G/W_{fin}$ is scaled-down. However, $W_{fin}$ should be carefully designed especially in circuits that are strongly influenced by the self-capacitance or a physical layout because the scaling of $W_{fin}$ is followed by the increase of the self-capacitance portion in the total load capacitance.

  • 패킷들은 네트워크 혼잡으로 인해 라우터에서 손실되거나 지연된다. 이러한 현상은 높은 Qos를 요구하는 멀티미디어 스트리밍 응용의 품질을 떨어뜨리는 요인이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 알고리즘(DBRC)은 라우터큐의 점유율이 균형 상태에 도달할 수 있도록 지연 시간의 증가/감소에 따라 트래픽 전송률을 제어한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 TFRC와 비교 분석한 결과, DBRC 알고리즘은 안정적인 전송률 변화, 거의 일정한 지연 시간, 적은 패킷 손실을 보여주고 있다.

  • This paper presents a new analytical approach for designing multiloop PI controllers for disturbance rejection in multivariable processes with time delay. The proposed method is based on IMC-PID design approach. To overcome a sluggish load response by dominant pole in the process, the IMC filter is modified to compensate the dominant pole effect. Based on the modified IMC filter, an analytical tuning rule for multiloop PI controller is driven by extending the generalized IMC-PID method for single input/single output (SISO) systems [1] to multi input/multi output (MIMO) systems. Simulation results show that the proposed method gives a satisfactory load performance as well as servo performance in the multiloop system.

자동변속기 마찰요소의 동특성 해석 (Analysis of Dynamics Characteristics for Friction Elements in Automatic Transmission)

  • In this paper, the modeling and analysis of dynamic characteristics has been carried out for friction clutches and brakes in an automatic transmission. From the operating oil pressure generated by the valve-body, time delay by check valve and the movement of piston has been examined. Also torque capacity and torque transferred at the clutch is studied. Heat capacity and temperature distribution at the reaction plate of clutch are codeled by time-dependent, nonhomogeneous partial differential equation, and brake torque, brake time, and the amount of heat generated are investigated. It is found that the time delay at the check valve is very short but dominant at the spool.

  • In the present study, gas-assisted molding and structural vibration analysis of hollow long cylinder with the variation of gas injection pressure are performed. Though there are so many parameters such as delay time, injection pressure, and gas pressure on gas-assisted molding, the latter has the most dominant effect on this process. Therefore, the present paper deals with the effects of gas pressure on the dynamic stiffness of the model by means of vibration analysis and then suggests the fundamental materials which can be directly adapted to manufacturing lines.

  • 본 논문에서는 VoIP 서비스를 사용하는데 있어서 IP 망에서 음성품질을 저해시키는 요소들을 Emulator를 통해 실험함으로써 음성품질에 영향을 미치는 요소에 대해 분석하였다. 그리고 QoS 분석에서는 실제 망 환경에서 겪을 수 있는 영향요소들에 대한 실측치를 반영하여 망 품질에 대한 망상태의 변화를 분석하였다. 망 품질의 가장 큰 영향을 주는 Delay, Jitter, 패킷손실에 대해 실측한 데이터는 IP망에서의 고품질의 VoIP 서비스를 제공하는 기반이 될 것으로 기대한다.
