  • Dome stadiums give thermal unpleasant feeling to occupants because of the radiant heat and the indoor and outdoor haet exchange from roogs or lightweight building envelopes of sidewalls. This study analyzed the indoor temperature and velocity distribution according to various air supply and return sustems in dome stadiums in summer.

  • Tokyo dome is Japan's first air dome. The roof of the dome is supported by air pressure. The centralized control system (YOKOGAWA's DCS : CENTUM and YEWPACK) is applied to automatically regurate the air pressure. The control system acquires signals from sensors positioned throughout the stadium and operate 36 fans to blow air into the dome. Great emphasis is placed on the reliability and safety of the system.

  • Maintenance and reinforcement are very important especially in the case of the hybrid structures. In this paper, we introduce the maintenance and reinforcement design method of cable dome structures. In the case of the Olympic fencing stadium structural system has the stiffness in dependence of the initial tension force. Therefore, the verification of this phenomenon is very important. The result shows that the final tension force which is measured is almost reached to the calculated aim tension force after the maintenance ana reinforcement works is confirmed.

  • recently out-door stadium have been built not only for athletic sports but also various events and huge concerts and 50% of the roof of multi-purpose stadium have been covered by dome and the tendency of this kind of building type gradually increase, in spite of this kind of building tendency, the appearance of acoustic obstacle is serious and have little solution of this problem in acoustic-prevent building field. The purpose of this study is for analysis of acoustic Properties(SPL, RT60, RASTI) and answering of characteristics of echo through acoustic computer simulation in Seoul world cup stadium in the first instance.

  • This study was conducted to investigate physical properties of soil and turfgrass wear characteristics within turfgrasses inside or outside the stadium A 1/1000 scale model Inchon world cup soccer d[me was constructed for this test. Turfgrasses planted inside and outside the model dome were; Kentucky bluegrass(KB), Kentucky bluegrass + perennial ryegrass mixture (KB+PR), Kentucky bluegrass + tall fescue + perennial ryegrass mixture (KB+TF+PR), Zoysia japonica 'Anyangjungzii'(ZA) and Zoysia japonica 'Zenith\`(ZZ). The rootzone was constructed by the multi-layer method (United States Golf Association method). Traffic on turfgrasses was treated with a 120kg roller. Surface soil hardness, soil penetration and water infiltration values on cool-season grasses(KB, KB+PR, KB+TF+PR) was found to be better for soccer play compared to zoysiagrasses(ZA, ZZ). No big differences in surface soil hardness, soil penetration and water infiltration values were found between inside and outside of the model dome. Wear damage on cool-season grasses caused by the traffic treatment was low compared to zoysiagrasses. However, there was no difference in wear damage by the traffic treatment within cool-season grasses while wear damage on ZA was higher than on ZZ within zoysiagrasses. It could be concluded that physical properties and wear characteristics on cool-season grasses were much better for soccer play than on zoysiagrasses.

  • The importance and the interest of wind load have emphasized since the damage of the Jeju World cup Stadium and Main Stadium of Busan Asiad in 2002, and the appearance of high-rise buildings. In general, a evaluation for the wind load acting on structures have been carried out mainly through the wind tunnel test, but this technique has the huge shortcomings that consume too much cost and experimental time. However, with the rapid advances on computers, it is possible to analyze the wind pressure distribution acting on structures by numerical scheme. In this paper, to predict the wind pressure distribution acting on shell structures having the various shape by numerical simulation, governing equations of fluid flow and turbulent model is formulated. Also, evaluates the wind pressure coefficient in accordance with the structural shape for shell structures like as a membrane structures and dome structures.
