Emotional interaction in virtual reality is necessary of social communication. However, social emotion has been tried to be less recognized quantitatively. This study was to determined social gaze of emotion in business domain. 417 emotion words were collected and 16 emotion words were selected to Goodness of Fit. Emotion word were mapped into 2 dimensional space through multidimensional scaling analysis. Then, X axis defined dimensions of cooperation, competition, and Y axis of low focus and high focus through the FGD. 52 subjects were presented to stimuli for emotion and gaze movement data were collected. Independent t-test results showed that the gaze factor increased in the face, eye, and nose areas at cooperation, and the gaze factor increased in the right face and nose areas at the low focus. It is expected that this will be used as a basic research to evaluate emotions needed in business environment in virtual space.
High intensity ultrasound was irradiated to induce mechano-chemical degradation during melt processing of polycarbonate (PC) and styrene-co-acrylonitrile (SAN) in an intensive mixer. It was found that macroradicals of PC and SAM can be generated during ultrasound assisted melt processing; which, in turn, provides a useful route to achieve in-situ compatibilization for the blends of PC and SAM by their mutual coupling. Effectiveness of compatibilization was assessed by investigating phase morphology and mechanical properties of the blends. It was observed that domain size was reduced and the stability of morphology was well maintained even after annealing treatment of the blends. In audition, the enhancement of mechanical properties such as elongation at break and tensile strength was evident, which added further confirmation on the desirable feature that sonication of melt-blends is able to enhance intermolecular interaction by promoting chemical bonds between dissimilar polymers without use of any compatibilizers.

Copper is considered to be the most promising substrate for the growth of high-quality and large area graphene by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), in particular, on the (111) facet. Because the interactions between graphene and Cu substrates influence the orientation, quality, and properties of the synthesized graphene, we studied the interactions using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The evolution of both the Shockley surface state of the Cu(111) and the ${\pi}$ band of the graphene was measured from the initial stage of CVD growth to the formation of a monolayer. Graphene growth was initiated along the Cu(111) lattice, where the Dirac band crossed the Fermi energy (EF) at the K point without hybridization with the d-band of Cu. Then two rotated domains were additionally grown as the area covered with graphene became wider. The Dirac energy was about -0.4 eV and the energy of the Shockley surface state of Cu(111) shifted toward the EF by ~0.15 eV upon graphene formation. These results indicate weak interactions between graphene and Cu, and the electron transfer is limited to that between the Shockley surface state of Cu(111) and the ${\pi}$ band of graphene. This weak interaction and slight lattice mismatch between graphene and Cu resulted in the growth of rotated graphene domains ($9.6^{\circ}$ and $8.4^{\circ}$), which showed no significant differences in the Dirac band with respect to different orientations. These rotated graphene domains resulted in grain boundaries which would hinder a large-sized single monolayer growth on Cu substrates.
Interactions between factor Va (HFVa) and membrane phosphatidylserine (PS) regulate the activity of the prothrombinase complex. I have previously shown that two solvent exposed hydrophobic residues located in the C2-domain, Trp2063 and Trp2064, are required for binding to immobilized PS and for expression of procoagulant activity on membranes containing 5% PS. In order to fully define the functional importance of these two residues I have expressed and isolated recombinant factor Va (rHFVa) W2063A/W2064A double mutant. In contrast to the native protein the two glycoforms resulting from alternative glycosylation of Asn2181 eluted as a single peak with rHFVa1 W2063A/W2064A eluting on the leading edge and rHFVa2 W2063A/W2064A eluting on the trailing edge. The double mutant rHFVa2 W2063A/W2064A expressed little or no procoagulant activity on membranes containing 1-10% mol % PS. In contrast, the procoagulant activity of this mutant was slightly greater than the native protein on membranes containing>18 mol % PS. The binding of rHFVa2 W2063A/W2064A to immobilized phospholipid vesicles was markedly reduced compared to the native protein in a surface plasmon resonance binding assay. I conclude that Trp2063 and Trp2064 are required for high affinity binding of factor Va to PS membranes and that this interaction is necessary for assembly of the prothrombinase complex on membranes containing physiological concentrations of PS.
In a feature modeling, problems such as ambiguities, interpretation errors, incompleteness, etc caused by informal specification occur in the modeling phase. Therefore, feature specification method and processes are suggested in this paper to resolve these problems. The structure and language of feature modeling is defined in this paper to specify various features. First, this feature model is abstracted in the meta-level to get predicates and attributes. Formal feature model specification method is proposed using multi-paradigm language. Second, Feature specification process is proposed to describe how to specify feature formally. And third, Feature interaction management is defined to solve the problems caused between specified features. Finally, the proposed feature specification method is applied to Distributed Meeting Scheduler System domain.

Nutrigenomics refers to research that investigates the interaction between nutrition and the human genome. Caffeine in tea and coffee is widely and routinely consumed by people. This study was performed to confirm the effect of caffeine treatment on the gene expression and cytokine profiling in 3T3-L1 adipocyte cells using microarray and protein array methodology. Treatment of caffeine in 3T3-L1 adipocyte cells increased expression of several genes related with obesity including adipocyte C1Q and collagen domain containing (ACDC), Adipsin (ADN), uncoupling protein 3(UCP3), while glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), which is known as lipid storage enzyme, was decreased by caffeine treatment. Furthermore, cytokines, such as interleukin-3 (IL-3), interleukin-12(IL-12), interleukin-13 (IL-13), granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF), granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), were decreased in caffeine treated 3T3-L1 adipocyte cells. These results provided interesting information about the genes related with caffeine and cytokine expression profiling in obesity.
It is already known that adzuki beans (Vigna angularis) are able to control appetite. Therefore, this study tested the proteins isolated from adzuki beans for their protease resistance and interaction with the intestinal mucosa. The major proteins from adzuki beans were found to be resistant to the digestive enzymes pepsin and pancreatin, and were identified using 2D-SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. The major adzuki proteins were easily fractionated by treating the soluble protein extract with 10mM $CaCl_2$, and were found to contain lactotransferrin, a homologous protein to the dynein light chain domain, proteinase inhibitor, and proteins with unknown functions. From a tissue binding assay using mouse intestinal tissue sections, the major protein fraction showed weak, yet significant and specific binding to the mucosa layer of the small intestine. Thus, the current results suggest that adzuki proteins are resistant to digestive enzymes, which enables them to survive protease digestion in the intestinal tract, plus they may interact with the intestinal mucosa layer. Therefore, the molecules responsible for controlling appetite in adzuki beans are presumably protease-resistant proteins that interact with the intestinal mucosa or delay digestion in the digestive tract.
In general, deflection limit criteria of bridge design specifications have been considered based on static serviceability and structural stability. Dynamic serviceability induced from bridge vibration actually has not been included in the criteria. Thus, it is necessary for deflection limit to be considered in order to check dynamic service- ability on bridge vibration. In this study, The allowable displacement of Korea Railway Bridge Design Specifications is compared to the frequency domain comfort limit and analyzed france code and japanese code. Korea Railway Bridge Design Specifications is regulated based on the train speed. Such is because the vibration time duration is partly considered. but this criteria is not satisfied with comfort limit. and, it is estimated to be capable to provide deflection limit considering dynamic serviceability. In order to evaluate the dynamic serviceability of various types of railway bridges in current public were selected and their dynamic signals were measured. and the result of the bridge-train interaction analysis according to the changes in bridge stiffness was compared to the comfort limit to suggest the stiff-ness limit to the dynamic serviceability, which should conveniently be applied at the field.
Estimating fatigue damage is a very important issue in the design of ships. The springing and whipping response, which is the hydro-elastic response of the ship, can increase the fatigue damage of the ship. So, these phenomena should be considered in the design stage. However, the current studies on the the application of springing and whipping responses at the design stage are not sufficient. So, in this study, a prediction method was developed using fluid-structural interaction analysis to assess of the fatigue damage induced by springing and whipping. The stress transfer function (Stress RAO) was obtained by using the 3D FE model in the frequency domain, and the fatigue damage, including linear springing, was estimated by using the wide band damage model. We also used the 1D beam model to develop a method to estimate the fatigue damage, including nonlinear springing and whipping by the vertical bending moment in the short-term sea state. This method can be applied to structural members where fatigue strength is weak to vertical bending moments, such as longitudinal stiffeners. The methodology we developed was applied to 325K VLOC, and we analyzed the effect of the springing and whipping phenomena on the existing design.

The nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain (NOD) is an innate pattern recognition receptor that recognizes pathogen- and damage-associated molecular patterns. The 29-kDa amino-terminal fibronectin fragment (29-kDa FN-f) is a matrix degradation product found in the synovial fluids of patients with osteoarthritis (OA). We investigated whether NOD2 was involved in 29-kDa FN-f-induced pro-catabolic gene expression in human chondrocytes. The expression of mRNA and protein was measured using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qrt-PCR) and Western blot analysis. Small interfering RNAs were used for knockdown of NOD2 and toll-like receptor 2 (TLR-2). An immunoprecipitation assay was performed to examine protein interactions. The NOD2 levels in human OA cartilage were much higher than in normal cartilage. NOD1 and NOD2 expression, as well as pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-1beta (IL-$1{\beta}$) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-${\alpha}$), were upregulated by 29-kDa FN-f in human chondrocytes. NOD2 silencing showed that NOD2 was involved in the 29-kDa FN-f-induced expression of TLR-2. Expressions of IL-6, IL-8, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1, -3, and -13 were also suppressed by TLR-2 knockdown. Furthermore, NOD2 and TLR-2 knockdown data demonstrated that both NOD2 and TLR-2 modulated the expressions of their adaptors, receptorinteracting protein 2 (RIP2) and myeloid differentiation 88, in 29-kDa FN-f-treated chondrocytes. 29-kDa FN-f enhanced the interaction of NOD2, RIP2 and transforming growth factor beta-activated kinase 1 (TAK1), an indispensable signaling intermediate in the TLR-2 signaling pathway, and activated nuclear factor-${\kappa}B$ (NF-${\kappa}B$), subsequently leading to increased expressions of pro-inflammatory cytokines and cartilage-degrading enzymes. These results demonstrate that 29-kDa FN-f modulated pro-catabolic responses via cross-regulation of NOD2 and TLR-2 signaling pathways.
