Disruptive Factors and Customer Satisfaction at Chain Stores in Karachi, Pakistan

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between disruptive factors and customer satisfaction at chain stores. Survey-based questionnaires were designed in the distribution technique to measure the findings in this study. Research design, data, and methodology: In terms of the sampling technique, the researchers adopted the simple random sampling technique with a total of 200 sample sizes. For the statistical method, the researchers applied multiple linear regression analysis to determine the potential factors that affect customer satisfaction at chain stores. The analysis of this study measured how product quality, pricing policies of chain stores, design and layout, responsiveness, and location of chain stores impart their roles in customer satisfaction. Results: This study found a significant relationship between the product quality and location of chain stores on customer satisfaction. In addition, the responsiveness, pricing policy, and physical design of chain stores impart an insignificant role in customer satisfaction. However, it is proven that the location of chain stores and product quality positively impact customer satisfaction. Conclusions: The study is geographically limited to the region of Karachi, Pakistan. Therefore, the findings may differ in the context of study implications in the other areas.

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of business processes, quality of human resources and organizational culture and its distribution in creating value to achieve competitive advantage. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: Data collection in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 90 employees of Delivery service companies in Makassar City. Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis was used as data analysis. Result: this study indicates that business processes do not directly affect competitive advantage, but business processes will have an effect if they go through the value creation process as an intervening variable, while the quality of human resources and work environment have a direct effect on competitive advantage and have a direct effect on Value creation. The quality of human resources and organizational culture also have an indirect effect on competitive advantage through the value creation process. This research also indicates that value creation has an effect on competitive advantage. Conclusion: Competitive advantage will be realized if organizational processes run well, company management that able to carry out good organizational processes and able to create a conducive organizational culture, will be able to distribute company resources to create value that leads to achieving competitive advantage for companies in the future.

  • Purpose: Various policies continue to be strengthened to develop Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which have a strategic role in the economy through the pillars of corporatization, capacity and financing to support strong and inclusive economic growth. Efforts to transform MSMEs marketing strategies are undertaken through eco-friendly digitalization to increase resilience and more productive and innovative capacity. Research design, data and methodology: This research is an exploratory qualitative approach taken to investigate the transformation of eco-friendly marketing strategies for MSMEs to increase competitiveness at the global level. The samples obtained were 425 MSMEs assisted by the DKI Jakarta, Bali, Java, Borneo, and Sumatera. The data collection technique used non-probability sampling (snowball sampling). Data is analyzed through collection, reduction, analysis, validity testing, presentation and conclusion. Results: This research shows the transformation of eco-friendly digital-based MSME marketing strategies occurred through four stages, namely production and institutional activities, expanding market share, digitalization and financing, and export market access. Conclusions: Eco-friendly digital transformation allows MSMEs competencies to be refined to improve business processes and business competitiveness at the international level. The contribution of this marketing strategy transformation is expanding MSMEs access to financial institutions (fintech), marketplaces, and QRIS (QR Code Indonesian Standard) digital payments.

  • Recently, cosmetic shop market, which is made up of company, agent, and market shop, has got into trouble caused by economic crisis and the coming of new distribution systems such as internet shopping mall. To overcome the problems, in this paper, we propose a cosmetic distribution portal system, which we call COSPO. COSPO is a portal system that has three functions. The first is automation of the business process for product distribution between the company, agent, and market shops. The second is communication between them. The final is sharing information generated through the automated process. In this paper, we build a prototype that support distribution channel of a company. Then, ultimately it should be extended to cover the distribution network of all companies. COSPO will contribute to the modernization of the cosmetic market industry in the country as well as to the increase of the profits.

  • The distribution companies in Korea usually specify the buying system in jikmeip, tukjeongmeip, imdeeul, and imdegap. In this view, the development of distribution companies in Korea is highly dependent on the which business status is emphasized. And it is considered critical to identify the important features of each buying system and the impact these systems have on each business status. Subsequently, the purpose of this study is to identify the said features and impact. With this study, we have tried to explore a new vision for distribution taking a consideration of the fact that most studies within Korea are oriented in marketing standpoint. Particularly, we have intended to analyze the distribution industry in the view of internal standpoint of a distribution company.

A Study on Changes in China's Distribution Market and Firms' Response Strategies

  • Purpose - This study investigated the development process of the Chinese distribution industry and analyzed the current status of China's offline and online distribution industries under the development process of the Chinese distribution industry. In addition, the current status of offline distributors in China and representative companies were analyzed as case studies. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzed the overall environment of the Chinese distribution industry by using literature data. Then, this study conducted a case analysis using RT Mart and Jingdong, major companies in the distribution industry. Result -The main research results of this study show that the Chinese distribution market has already matured, and retailers are fiercely competing to secure sales and operating profits through various methods such as finding new management methods, improving awareness and customer loyalty by expanding the number of stores. Conclusion -Recently, the characteristic of China's distribution industry is that the boundaries of distribution are breaking down. Chinese retailers are taking strategies to expand the scope of services by erasing the boundaries of distribution. In other words, distribution companies are promoting a borderless distribution strategy in which consumers purchase products online and offline without restrictions on time and space. In addition, small stores in residential areas are on the rise compared to large-scale stores in the city center. The existing distribution industry operates various types of distribution stores to prepare for the post-COVID-19 crisis.

Analysis of Distribution Structure and Its Improvement Plan for e-Learning Business (이러닝산업 유통구조 분석 및 개선방안 연구)

  • The e-Learning is one of best ways to generate the substitution effect for classroom learning, and robust and rational distribution structure for e-Learning industry is the key issue for successful educational performance of e-Learning, however the recent e-Learning market has a distribution status quite different from rational structure. This paper focuses on issues of e-Learning distribution status and alternatives for policy making. In order to make this study successful, we discuss about concepts and scopes of e-Learning distribution and various types of distribution structure by business models. We conducted an interview survey for business individual experts for distribution modelling. Based on the result of the survey, this paper describes issues of distribution structure and suggests alternatives for policy making in the Korea e-Learning market.

The Effect of Management Capability of Small and Medium Distribution Logistics Centers on Competitiveness Reinforcement: AHP Analysis

  • Since the mid-1990s, small and medium distribution and retail businesses have been experiencing difficulties due to the active entry of domestic and foreign distribution companies into the distribution industry. Accordingly, in 2003, the government established a small and medium distribution logistics center to secure self-sustainability and strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium distribution and retail businesses. However, in the rapidly changing distribution environment, small and medium distribution logistics centers were becoming increasingly difficult. To strengthen the management capabilities of small and medium distribution logistics centers, 4 primary factors (management operational ability, employee professional competency enhancement, product delivery, customer CS management) and 16 secondary factors were established based on literature research and FGI. We intend to derive the final weight and priority of these factors using AHP, and establish strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium distribution logistics centers.

  • This paper generalizes the classic two-stage multicommodity distribution system design problem to the one that includes plant locations as well as distribution center locations. Accommodating plant location leads to subproblems which are mixed are mixed integer. Hence. no LP-type subproblems are avail-able, and therefore standard Benders decomposition no longer applies. We develop new solution method which combines an integer L-shaped method with Benders decomposition to suit the purpose, and pre-sent the test results.
