Purpose: This research investigates the cost behavior of the distribution industry. Specifically, we investigate if the ratio of the increase in costs with an increase in sales is consistent with the ratio of the decrease in costs when sales decrease. Traditionally, cost is assumed to be symmetrical. In the case of the distribution industry, it was expected that the downward rigidity of the cost would be shown because it would be very difficult to decide to adjust resources when sales temporarily decrease. Therefore, studies have looked at Korean capital markets based on manufacturing and steel industries. However, no research has been done on the distribution industry. Research design, data, and methodology: To verify the hypothesis of this study, the asymmetry of cost was measured by Anderson et al. (2003). The sample used 28,695 firm-year data from 2002 to 2019 for the KOSPI and KOSDAQ stock markets. Results: The empirical analysis results are as follows. First, asymmetry of cost was observed in the case of the distribution industry. We confirm cost rigidity when sales decreased. Conclusions. This is the first study to look at cost behavior in the distribution industry, and the downward rigidity of cost in the distribution industry is observed.
Distribution basins are used widely in the water treatment process. Uniform distribution at the distribution basin is an important because it affect precipitation efficiency of sedimentation basin. Generally distribution basin has a free surface water and is consisted of a weir. Study result, when inflow of distribution basin is less, amount of overflow is much at the nearest weir from the inlet. But when inflow is much, amount of overflow is much at the far weir from the inlet. The difference of distribution amount at the pipe is affected by the curvature and length of the pipe. The magnitude of the effect is determined by the relative energy loss and the flow state of the distribution basin. Optimization of the response surface method for minimizing an amount of deviation of the distribution is a very useful technique to determine the optimal ratio of the valve opening.
A simple damper optimization method is proposed to find optimal damper allocation for shear buildings under both target added damping ratio and interstorey drift ratio (IDR). The damping coefficients of added dampers are considered as design variables. The cost, which is defined as the sum of damping coefficient of added dampers, is minimized under a target added damping ratio and the upper and the lower constraint of the design variables. In the first stage of proposed algorithm, Simulated Annealing, Nelder Mead and Differential Evolution numerical algorithms are used to solve the proposed optimization problem. The candidate optimal design obtained in the first stage is tested in terms of the IDRs using linear time history analyses for a design earthquake in the second stage. If all IDRs are below the allowable level, iteration of the algorithm is stopped; otherwise, the iteration continues increasing the target damping ratio. By this way, a structural response IDR is also taken into consideration using a snap-back test. In this study, the effects of the selection of upper limit for added dampers, the storey mass distribution and the storey stiffness distribution are all investigated in terms of damper distributions, cost function, added damping ratio and IDRs for 6-storey shear building models. The results of the proposed method are compared with two existing methods in the literature. Optimal designs are also compared with uniform designs according to both IDRs and added damping ratios. The numerical results show that the proposed damper optimization method is easy to apply and is efficient to find optimal damper distribution for a target damping ratio and allowable IDR value.

Irrigation Reservoir Water Supply Index(IRWSI), which can be applied to the effective supply and management of the irrigation water resources, was developed. IRWSI was formulated as resealed nonexceedance probabilities of two hydrologic components : reservoir storage ratio and precipitation. To generate nonexceedance probability of hydrologic component, it was important to define the optimal one among the various probability distribution function in the state of nature. To define an optimal probability distribution, in this study, four types of probability distribution function were tested by the K-S fitting, and for the calculation of IRWSI, reservoir storage ratio(%) and precipitation used Normal distribution & Gamma distribution, respectively. In this study, the weight coefficients of a and b for each hydrologic component, which is precipitation and reservoir storage ratio, was decided as 0.8 and 0.2, respectively. While some studies changed weight coefficients according to the size of basin area, this study used same values without considering that. From the analysis of drought characteristics, it was found that the IRWSI was sensitive to the size of irrigation area rather than the size of basin area, and the south-eastern region of Korea had been suffered from severe drought damage.
The present study investigated two-phase flow distribution and phase separation of R-22 refrigerant through various types of branch tubes. The key experimental parameters were the orientation of inlet and branch tubes (horizontal and vertical), diameter ratio of branch tube to inlet tube (1 and 0.61), mass flux (200-500 kg/㎡s), and inlet quality (0.1-0.4). The predicted local pressure profile in the tube with junction was compared and generally agreed with the measured data. The local pressure profile within the pressure recovery region after the junction has to be carefully investigated for modeling the pressure drop through the branch. The equal flow distribution case can be found by adjusting the orientation of the inlet and branch tubes and the diameter ratio of the branch tube to the inlet tube. The T-junction with horizontal inlet and branch tubes showed the nearly equal phase distribution ratio. The quality at the branch tube varied from 0 to 1 as the orientation of the branch tube changed, while it varied within${\pm}$50% as the orientation of the inlet tube changed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate hamstring length during static uprighting position using weight distribution ratio. Methods: Ninety-six volunteers(56 males) were participated. The active knee extension test(AKE) was measured 3 times on both legs. The mean score of AKE was obtained. Then, the measurement of weight distribution ratio was observed 3 times on both legs, and its mean value was also calculated. Subjects were divided four groups based on their hamstring length measurement; both hamstring shortening group, left hamstring shortening group, right hamstring shortening group and normal hamstring length group. One-way ANOVA was employed to analyse collected data. Pearson's correlation was also hired to see any relationship between the hamstring length and the weight distribution. Results: In anterior/left area and posterior/right area, both hamstring shortening group left hamstring shortening group were superior to right hamstring shortening group and normal hamstring length group. Significant difference was existed statistically(p<.05) between groups. The correlation analysis between hamstring length and weight distribution ratio has not been shown any significant findings(Pant/post=0.733, Plt/rt=0.135). Conclusion: The results of the study may be applied to therapeutic management in posture and movement skill in musculoskeletal physical therapy.
The aim of this study is to analyze the planar composition of rectangular formation houses in 8 areas, both cities and counties, in the sphere of Andong and to reveal the characteristics of these houses in each region. This study of the rectangular formation of houses and their characteristics will facilitate an understanding of the general trends of housing in Andong cultural area.. In this study, the subject houses are composed of three parts: Bonchae, Anchae, and Sarangchae, and the author classified the planar types of the houses. The differences in the regional planar types were analyzed through visual and statistical methods. The analyzed results reveal the regional characteristics of the rectangular formation houses in terms of their planar aspects in the Andong region. The distribution showed the greatest preference toward one type out of two types of distribution of Bonchae, Anchae, and Sarangchae. The ratio for the higher distribution was approximately 70%, whereas the ratio for the lower distribution was around 20%. For convenience, the type with a higher distribution rate is referred to as the "major type," and the type with a lower distribution rate is termed the "minor type." The complete-type houses (73%) in Bonchae were a major type there, and the symmetric-type houses (73%) in Anchae were the major type in that location. In addition, the corner-type houses (72%) in Sarangchae were the major type. In the regional distribution of major types and minor types in the 8 regional cities and counties, regional differences were noted. The three regional groups can be divided into A, B, and C according to the distribution ratio. Andong, Bonghwa, and Yecheon belong to region A. that shows a variety of distribution types and a dispersive trend. Yeongyang and Yeongdeok belong to region C that shows a simplified trend.Yeongju and Cheongsong belong to region B.

This study was desiged to investigate the Obesity and Right-left(region) of Patients with Bell's palsy. We measured the sex, age, BMI and pulse diagnosis of 149 patients who were diagnosed as Bell's palsy. The results were as follows : In distribution of sex, the ratio of male was 52.35%(78 cases), female 47.65%(71 cases). The distribution of age revealed that 40s was the most in 50 cases(33.6%). The distribution of region in facial palsy was left 73 cases, right 76 cases(1:1.04). In distribution of region in facial palsy patients with obesity, the ratio of left was 32.86%(49 cases), right 34.23%(51 cases). But facial palsy patients with obesity was the most in 100 cases(67.11%), low weght was 3 cases(2.01%). In distribution of pulse diagnosis in facial palsy patients with obesity, the ratio of huh-mac(虛脈) was 63.64%(42 case), sil-mac(實脈) 36.36%(24 cases). The huh-mac(虛脈) was simlliar to gi-huh(氣虛). So we found that the facial palsy patients with obesity was more gi-huh(氣虛) than with low weght. In distribution of region in facial palsy patients with obesity-huh-mac(虛脈), the ratio of left was 41.38%(12 cases), right 58.62%(17 cases).
Juniperus chinensis (Cupressaceae) is a valuable woody plant resource, but this rare plant is only distributed in restricted regions in Korea. In this study, we surveyed the geographic distribution regions, variation of sex ratio and the dynamics of natural populations of J. chinensis. in order to establish conservation strategies for the sustainable conservation of this important resource tree. The 17 natural populations of J. chinensis are restrictively distributed in the shore cliffs of (1) Ulleungdo island, (2) Gyeongju-si to Gangneung-si of the eastern coast, the riverside cliff along (3) Donggang-river of Jungsun-gun and Pyeongchang-gun and (4) branch of Nakdonggang-river in Uiseong-gun. The populations in Ulleungdo island showed continuous population distribution of over 200 individuals, but populations in other regions had discontinuous population distribution of under 200. The population of J. chinensis surveyed in Korea was estimated in ca. 3,200 individuals. The sex ratio (male/female) among populations of J. chinensis was diverse with variation from 0.46~1.67 range, but showed no significance. The sex ratio of the total individuals by species level was 0.74, and the percentage of female tree was significantly higher than the male. The results of dynamics analysis within population among regions showed that seedlings and saplings of J. chinensis in three regions surveyed were continuously regenerating. The distribution of DBH class showed a stable population structure of inverse J shape graph, but fragmentation and decrease in populations because of invading broad-leaved shrubs and trees from the surroundings were concerned. Further studies, and in situ and ex situ conservation strategies for the sustainable conservation on natural populations of this rare resources woody plant, J. chinensis in Korea are recommended.
In this study, the fiber orientation distribution (FOD) is investigated using both micro-CT (computerized tomography) and image analysis of physically cut specimens prepared from Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) fiber reinforced cemented Toyoura sand. The micro-CT images of the fiber reinforced cemented sand specimens were visualized in horizontal and vertical sections. Scans were obtained using a frame rate of two frames and an exposure time of 500 milliseconds. The number of images was set to optimize and typically resulted in approximately 3000 images. Then, the angles of the fibers for horizontal sections and in vertical section were calculated using the VGStudio MAX software. The number of fibers intersecting horizontal and vertical sections are counted using these images. A similar approach was used for physically cut specimens. The variation of results of fiber orientation between micro-CT scans and visual count were approximately 4-8%. The micro-CT scans were able to precisely investigate the fiber orientation distribution of fibers in these samples. The results show that 85-90% of the PVA fibers are oriented between ±30° of horizontal, and approximately 95% of fibers have an orientation that lies within ±45° of the horizontal plane. Finally, a comparison of experimental results with the generalized fiber orientation distribution function 𝜌(θ) is presented for isotropic and anisotropic distribution in fiber reinforced cemented Toyoura sand specimens. Experimentally, it can be seen that the average ratio of the number of fibers intersecting the finite area on a vertical plane to number of fibers intersecting the finite area on a horizontal plane (NVtot/NHtot) cut through a sample varies from 2.08 to 2.12 (an average ratio of 2.10 is obtained in this study). Based up on the analytical predictions, it can be seen that the average NVtot/NHtot ratio varies from 2.13 to 2.17 for varying n values (an average ratio of 2.15).
