The Originating Characteristics of Periodic Impulse Noises in the Data Communication System by Distribution Line Carrier Method (배전선반송 데이타통신에서의 주기적 임펄스노이즈의 발생특성)

  • The existence of peroodic impulse noises in distribution line carrier (DLC) communication system is known to be the most serious obstacle for improving DLC communication quality in reliability and capacity. From the spectral points, impulse noises can be divided into baseband type and modulation type the noise width of whichs are much different each other. With each nose type, this study presents the basic characteristics in relation to what they originate from and how their spectrum properties are revealed. The baseband type impulse noise is normally caused from thyristor circuit running with low switching speed and the modulation type noise from the circuit of switching power supply. The base wave of modulation noise is shown to be the pulsuatic charging current to primary condenser in switching power circuit. The study result indicates also that placing the DLC carrier frequency away the band predominated by modulated noise especially from RCC type switching power circuit is very important in DLC design.

  • Power-line communication technology is proposed to identify power transformers to serve customers in 3 phase -4 wires power distribution systems. Mathematical models for 3-phase power transformers, 3-phase wire lines, and customer loads are described to investigate the transmission characteristics of high frequency power line carrier. From the analysis, distribution line cable circuits have only a limited ability to carry higher frequencies. Typically power transformers in the distribution system prevent propagating the higher frequency carrier signal. The proposed method uses the limited propagation ability to identify the power transformer to serve customers. A novel power transformer identification system is designed and implemented. The system consists of a transmitter and a receiver with power-line communication module. Some experiments are conducted to verify the theoretical concepts in a big commercial building. Also some simulations are done to help and understand the concepts by using MATLAB Simulink simulator.

  • The location of periodic noises in phase of AC power wave reveals to be specific according to the noise kinds which can be generally classified into modulation and baseband types in DLC. The former noise type has constant noise phase which is originated from switching mode power supplies and the latter normally caused from thyristor circuit of low switching frequency is compared to be more dispersive than the other.

  • In this paper, the architecture for the residential gateway is designed for the traffic statistics of home environment. The suitability of 10 Mbps power line communication is investigated for the control and the video data distribution through simulation. The design issues are discussed for a residential gateway and the network design that is based on the power line communication is presented. Traffic models are established from the actual traffic traces. They are used for performance evaluation of residential networks.

  • This paper proposes the new reclosing scheme considering the recovery time of SFCL in distribution systems which is based on variable dead time control. The main idea is that it uses the carrier signal to distinguish whether the fault is instantaneous or permanent after tripping the line by recloser. The system and SFCL is modeled by using Electromagnetic Transient Program(EMTP) and the validity of the reclosing scheme presented in this paper is analyzed according to the fault resistance, the recovery time of SFCL and the fault clearing time.

Typically power transformers in the distribution system prevent propagating the higher frequency carrier signal. The proposed method uses the limited propagation ability to identify the cable. A novel power cable identification system is designed and implemented. The system consists of a transmitter and a receiver with power-line communication module. Some experiments are conducted to verify the theoretical concepts. Also some simulations are done to help and understand the concepts by using Simulink simulator.

  • Animal and clinical investigations have shown that fluoroquinolones, new quinolone antibacterial agents (NQs), are well absorbed across the intestinal tract, with a bioavailability of 60-90% after oral administration. Although some types of carrier-mediated intestinal transport mechanisms have been reported for enoxacin (ENX), ofloxacin (OFLX) and sparfloxacin (SPFX), recent results using a human intestinal epithelial cell line, Caco-2, indicated a passive or nonsaturable transport of SPFX, one of the most hydrophobic NQs. The mechanism underlying the intestinal absorption of NQs is still largely unknown. The distribution of NQs into peripheral tissues including erythrocytes is very rapid and their tissue-to-plasma concentration ratios (Kp) are considerably larger than those of inulin (an extracellular fluid space marker), in spite of almost complete ionization of NQs at the physiological pH. Our findings suggest that OFLX and lomefloxacin (LFLX) are taken up by rat erythrocytes via a transport system common to that of a water-soluble vitamin, nicotinic acid.

  • Instead of installing new communication wiring to each house in the apartment house building. the power distribution network. which is already installed in the building. can be use as communication medium. In a safty management, by adoption of power line communication system, at remote we can monitor safty related sensors such as fire, gas leakage, burglar intrusion and emergency call which are located at each house. From this viewpoint, we developed security monitoring system for apartment house building using power lines. Security monitoring system consists of Power Line Communication-Sub Controller (PLC-SC). Power Line Communication-Main Controller (PLC-MC) and Management System (MS). Between a PLC-MC and a PLC-SC, the transmission rate is 1200 bps in power lines and modulation technique is frequency shirt keying (FSK). In between a PLC-MC and a MS, the transmission rate is 1200 bps in communication line (RS-485). As a result of this research. transmission loss is 0.1dB per meter of intrabuilding distribution network. Transmission can be reach in 250 meters. So it is enough to communicate for security monitoring system in apartment house building.

  • In city, tracing of power transmission lines is difficult due to compound installation of overhead and underground lines, transposition, bad view caused by trees or big buildings. It is hard problem for electrical technician on site to trace power transformers or power lines to serve customers in 3 phase -4 wires power distribution systems. It is necessary that the correct and fast tracing method is required for load balancing among distribution lines. Old technology use to trace lines with high power impulse injection. Our proposed method uses to trace lines with very small power high frequency signal injection. Simulation models for 3-phase power transformers, 3-phase wire lines, and customer loads are described to investigate the transmission characteristics of high frequency power line carrier.   • A communication system through distribution lines was developed for distribution automation. Since all facilities in distrbution systems are connected by distribution lines, economical communication systems can be realized by using these lines as data transmission lines. But it has a problem in transmission reliability bcause of its sensitivity to noise and impeadance. Therefore, to cope with this problem. measurement and analysis of the communication characteristics are made according to the influence of load impeadence change, signal level and noise generated in load. Field tests were carried out at Kyung Ki branch of the KEPCO for half year starting in Feburary 1988.
