S study on the distribution of land snails in Kangweon-Do was carried out from May 1990 to July 1995. Mirus sp, and Aegista gottschei kongoensis were unrecorded in Korea and south Korea, respectively, As a result of this stududy, 21 families and 62 species of land snails are reported from Kangweon-Do, Korea.

When the available sample is multiply Type-II censored, the maximum likelihood estimators of the location and the scale parameters of two-parameter exponential distribution do not admit explicitly. In this case, we propose some approximate maximum likelihood estimators by approximating the likelihood equations appropriately. We present an example to illustrate these estimation methods.

By Stochastic simulations we discuss the fitness of a mix-ture normal distribution to observations from general mixture distribu-tions using the MLE method and the EM algorithm. We calulate the probability of misclassifying objects and estimate the optimal number of mixture components with mutual information measure.

This study dealed with problem to estimate the uniformity of dust clouds, as a fundamental study to estimate the ignition hazardous evaluation of hybrid mixtures. The developed method was proposed to grasp space distribution of dusts, and also, an experimental apparatus considering with dispersion and reproduction of dusts were uniquely devised and studied.

We investigated the consumer behavior of store choice using consumer panel data. The NBD-Dirichlet model known to be predictive of the consumer's brand choice was also found to be well fitted for the store choice behavior. Understanding the regularity in the store choice will provide both manufacturers and sistributors with the necessary guidelines for their competitive strategies.

By using the recently determined color excess and distance data of classical by Kim (1985), the distribution of interstellar reddening material was studied to see the general picture of the average rate of interstellar absorption out to about 7-8 kpc in the Galactic plane in various directions from the sun.
