  • Decision problem called an optimal release policies, after testing a software system in development phase and transfer it to the user, is studied. The infinite failure non-homogeneous Poisson process models presented and propose an optimal release policies of the life distribution applied extreme distribution which used to find the minimum (or the maximum) of a number of samples of various distributions. In this paper, discuss optimal software release policies which minimize a total average software cost of development and maintenance under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement. In a numerical example, extreme value distribution as another alternative of existing the Poisson execution time model and the log power model can be verified using inter-failure time data.

  • Robust power delivery and distribution are considered one of the major challenges in electronic devices today. As a technology develops (i.e. frequency and complexity, increase and size decreases), both power density and power supply noise increase, and voltage supply margin decreases. In addition, thermal problem is induced due to high power and poor power distribution. Until now most of studies to improve power delivery and distribution have been focused on device circuit or system architecture designs. Interconnect process technologies to resolve power delivery issues have not greatly been explored so far, but recently it becomes of great interest as power increases and voltage specification decreases in a smaller chip size.

  • A quantum computer, based on quantum mechanics, is a paradigm of information processing that can show remarkable possibilities of exponentially improved information processing. This paradigm can be solved in a short time by calculating factoring problem and discrete logarithm problem that are typically used in public key cryptosystems such as RSA(Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) and ECC(Elliptic Curve Cryptography). In 2013, Lei et al. proposed a secure NTRU-based key distribution protocol for quantum computing. However, Lei et al. protocol was vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks. In this paper, we propose a NTRU(N-the truncated polynomial ring) key distribution protocol with mutual authentication only using NTRU convolution multiplication operation in order to maintain the security for quantum computing. The proposed protocol is resistant to quantum computing attacks. It is also provided a secure key distribution from various attacks such as man-in-the middle attack and replay attack.

  • The main objective of this work is to experimentally investigate the effect of angle variation on the distribution of two-phase flow at header-channel junctions. The cross-sections of the header and the channels were fixed at $16mm{\times}16mm$ and $12mm{\times}1.8mm$, respectively. Air and water were used as the test fluids. Four different header-channel positions were tested : Vertical header with Horizontal channels (case VM-HC), Horizontal header with Horizontal channels (case HM-HC), Horizontal header with Vertical Downward channels (case HM-VDC), and Horizontal header with Vertical Upward channels (case HM-VUC). In all cases, liquid flow distribution tended to decrease gradually in the upstream header region. However, in the downstream region, different trends could be seen. The reason for these different tendencies were identified by flow visualization in each case. The standard deviations for the liquid and gas flow distribution in each case were calculated, and the case of VM-HC had the lowest values compared to other cases because of the symmetrically distributed liquid film and strong flow recirculation near the end plate.

  • Whole brain irradiation is one mode in the treatment of brain cancer and brain metastasis, but it might cause brain injury such as brain necrosis. It has been studied whether the dose distribution could be a cause of brain injury. The dose distribution in whole brain irradiated by Co-60 beam has been measured by means of calibrated TLD chips inserted in the brain of Humanoid phantom. The following results were obtained. 1. Dose distribution on each transverse section of the brain was uniform. 2. On the midsagital plane of the brain, the dose was highest in upper portion and lowest in lower portion, varying 8 from 104% to 90%. 3. When the radiation field includes free space of 2cm or more width out of the head, the dose distribution in the whole brain is almost independent of the field width. 4. It is important to determine adequate shielding area and to set shielding block exactly in repetition of treatment.

  • Recently, DC distribution system has come into the spotlight as the number of digital loads and the use of renewable energy increases. However, there are still challenges for the commercialization of DC distribution system such as a consideration for the safety. Thus, researches on protective coordination and grounding system for the safety of human bodies and facilities in Low-Voltage DC (LVDC) distribution system should be preferentially conducted. In this paper, therefore, we analyze characteristics of faults in LVDC system accroding to type of grounding system based on IEC 60364. Finally, the simulations for fault characteristic in different grounding scheme are conducted using ElectroMagnetic Transient Program(EMTP) and the results of simulation are shown.

  • The Korean distribution market is now faced with various difficult problems. for instance, the withering of domestic demand by effect of IMF support system, the competitive foreign enterprise's entry into domestic distribution market by opening of its market, and the diversity and unexpected change of consumers' needs. Through the comparative study with Japanese distribution industry, we could find out the outline of information strategy that Korean wholesalers and retailers can solve such problems and stand at competitive advantage in Korean distribution market. We use information system in order to get data for consumers' needs quick and diversely. analyze those accurately, and put those into merchandising. So we have to work out the information strategy in line with the three-point principle, such as the integration or linking of information systems, the sustaining improvement and development of information systems, and the sharing of information.

  • This paper presents an analytical solution to predict the transient temperature distribution in fillet arc welding. The analytical solution is obtained by solving a transient three -dimensional heat conduction equation with convection boundary conditions on the surfaces of an infinite plate with finite thicknesses, and mapping an infinite plate onto the fillet weld geometry with energy equation. The electric arc heat input on fillet weld and on infinite plate is assumed to have a traveling bivariate Gaussian distribution. To check the validity of the solution, GTA and FCA welding experiments were performed under various welding conditions. The actual isotherms of the weldment cross - sections at various distances from the arc start point are compared with those of simulation result. As the result shows a satisfactory accuracy, this analytical solution can be used to predict the transient temperature distribution in the fiIIet weld of finite thickness under a moving bivariate Gaussian distributed heat source. The simplicity and short calculation time of the analytical solution provides rationales to use the analytical solution for modeling the welding control systems or for an optimization tool of welding process parameters.

  • The air and water flow distribution are experimentally studied for a round header - flat tube geometry simulating a parallel flow heat exchanger. The number of branch flat tube is thirty. The effects of tube outlet direction, tube protrusion depth as well as mass flux, and quality are investigated. The flow at the header inlet is identified as annular. For the downward flow configuration, the water flow distribution is significantly affected by the tube protrusion depth. For flush-mounted configuration, most of the water flows through frontal part of the header. As the protrusion depth increases, more water is forced to the rear part of the header. The effect of mass flux or quality is qualitatively the same as that of the protrusion depth. Increase of the mass flux or quality forces the water to rear part of the header. For the upward flow configuration, however, most of the water flows through rear part of the header. The protrusion depth, mass flux, or quality does not significantly alter the flow pattern. Possible explanations are provided based on the flow visualization results. Negligible difference on the water flow distribution was observed between the parallel and the reverse flow configuration.

  • In order to investigate the properties in distribution and movement of anchovy school catches by the lift net in the Kamak bay and their relation to the environmental factors, i.e., the water temperature and the salinity were observed form June to August in 1997 and compared with the catch of anchovy by the lift net. The results obtained are summarized as follows;1) The water temperature and salinity ranged form 20.0 to $27.0^{\circ}C\;and\;from\;31.2\;to\;33.8\texperthousand$, respectively. The water temperature and salinity at the fishing points ranged form 19.7 to $27.2^{\circ}C\;and,\;from\;30.5\;to\;33.8^{\circ}C$ respectively.2) The water temperature influenced remarkably on the distribution and movement of anchovy school. But the salinity influenced little on the distribution and movement. 3) The catch of anchovy was highest on July, poor second on August, and lowest on June. Anchovy school can be presurmed, they are come from north of bay, visited and distributed through east of bay at the middle of June. Moreover, they spreaded in all bay. Then gradually, when July arrive, they go to the south th nearest the coasts, and they are outflow through the south entrance of bay at the end of August.
