A Study on Residential Hybrid Distribution System for Reducing Power Conversion Loss (전력 변환 손실 저감을 위한 하이브리드 주거배전시스템)

  • This paper proposes residential hybrid distribution system that can supply AC power and DC power to AC load and DC load at the same time. This hybrid distribution system consists of three parts: bidirectional inverter, step-up converter and step-down converter. Also that is used to supply voltage to home application is classified of AC load and DC load as load characteristics. The performance of proposed hybrid distribution system is validated through the hardware implementation and the experimental results.

  • With the rapid development of MS technologiesy, the demands for a more sophisticated MS interpretation algorithm haves grown as well. We have developed a new protein fingerprinting method using a binomial distribution, (fBIND). With the fBIND, we improved the performance accuracy of protein fingerprinting up to the maximum 49% (more than MOWSE) and 2% than(at a previous binomial distribution approach studied by of Wool et al.) as compared to the established algorithms. Moreover, we also suggest a the statistical approach to define the significance of transcription factors and motifs in the identified proteins based on the Gene Ontology (GO).   • This paper analyzes robotic technology developed for live-line electricity distribution and its applicability to domestic environment. In doing so, available robotic systems developed for the live-line work are thoroughly investigated and compared in terms of from robotic functionality to economic feasibility. To assess the technology readiness for domestic live-line robot, the rubber gloves based direct live-line engineering methods have been also analyzed and mapped into robotic technology requisites. The results are expected as a fundamental data to help with solving the safety and economics issues when considering development and introduction of compact live-line robot for complex domestic electricity distribution environment.

  • DC microgrid system is attracted attention in the world, because DC distribution system is more energy efficient than AC distribution system. To analyse the contribution effects of distributed generation(DG) in LVDC distribution system through modeling the Rectifier, DC/DC converter, Energy Storage System(ESS) and Photovoltaic(PV). using PSCAD/EMTDC. This paper analyses fault response characteristics in LVDC distribution system according to the interconnection and islanding operation of DG. Based on research results on the paper, direction for development of fault current reduction method for LVDC distribution system is suggested.

  • The cost needed to managing equipment is constantly increasing because of increase of power equipment. The regulations such as PAS 55 and ISO 55000 were enacted to manage equipment assets. The advanced management methods such as real-time monitoring, condition evaluation, and health indices are avalable in generation system, transmission system, and substation transformers. However, These methods can not be applied to distribution equipment because of a lot of equipment. Therefore reliability assessment is very important in case of distribution equipment. In this paper, failure rates are extracted considering characteristics of regions, and which are the essential factors to reliability evaluation.

  • In this paper, problems and solutions are proposed for applying IEC 61850 to Distribution Automation System(DAS). Communication protocol integration in power automation system have issued by IEC standards, IEC 61850 of them has researched for applying IEC 61850 to many areas of power system in spite of that it was made for substation automation system. Especially, DAS is just about to apply IEC 61850 by communication network change from serial to ethernet although DNP 3.0 is used. But it's impossible to apply directly IEC 61850 to DAS by difference of environment which unfixed wide area and separated nodes in power distribution system unlike concept of IEC 61850 is made by Substation Automation System(SAS) environment of limited space. Thus, this paper proposed applications of three types which conceptual, practical, and future to consider problems and solutions when apply IEC 61850 to Ethernet based DAS.

  • This study presents the failure rate and repair rate of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter(SFCL) and adjacent distribution equipments. When the fault current penetrated SFCL, the supply of electric power to the customers can be partly continued. It is expected that SFCL makes to improve the reliability index of customers. Contrary to the expectations, the series connection between SFCL and distribution system could deteriorate the reliability index. To evaluate the reliability index in the distribution system including SFCL, the failure rate and repair rate of SFCL are required as well as that of distribution equipments. Also, the insertion of SFCL makes to change the failure rate and repair rate of adjacent equipments. This study proposes a method to calculate the failure rate and repair rate of a component combining SFCL and adjacent equipments.

  • The powers of some tests for independence hypothesis against positive (negative) quadrant dependence in generalized Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern distribution are compared graphically by simulation. Some of these tests are usual linear rank tests of independence. Two other possible rank tests of independence are locally most powerful rank test and a powerful nonparametric test based on the $Cram{\acute{e}}r-von$ Mises statistic. We also evaluate the empirical power of the class of distribution-free tests proposed by Kochar and Gupta (1987) based on the asymptotic distribution of a U-statistic and the test statistic proposed by $G{\ddot{u}}ven$ and Kotz (2008) in generalized Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern distribution. Tests of independence are also compared for sample sizes n = 20, 30, 50, empirically. Finally, we apply two examples to illustrate the results.

  • A method for estimating rock joint size distribution using contained traces length distribution from 3D cylindrical window survey was suggested. To reduce the numerical error, an improved technique was applied. The accuracy was verified by referring to Monte-Carlo simulation and it was found that the error can be decreased with suitable gamma values.

  • Water inrush through the destruction of water resisting rock mass structure was divided into direct water inrush, key block water inrush and splitting water inrush. In the direct water inrush, the Reynolds numbers has a significant effect on the distribution of the water flow and vortex occurred in the large Reynolds numbers. The permeability coefficient of the fracture is much larger than the rock, and the difference is between 104 and 107 times. The traditional theory and methods are not considering the effect of inertia force. In the position of the cross fracture, the distribution of water flow can only be linearly distributed according to the fracture opening degree. With the increase of Reynolds number, the relationship between water flow distribution and fracture opening is studied by Semtex.
