  • Estimation procedure of the finite population proportion and distribution function is considered. Based on a logistic regression model, an approximately model- optimal estimator is defined and conditions for the estimator to be design-consistent are given. Simulation study shows that the model-optimal design-consistent estimator defined under a logistic regression model performs well in estimating the finite population distribution function.

  • The distribution of products of random variables is of interest in many areas of the sciences, engineering and medicine. This has increased the need to have available the widest possible range of statistical results on products of random variables. In this note, the distribution of the product | XY | is derived when X and Y are Student's t and Bessel function random variables distributed independently of each other.

  • This paper first examines the skewness of Wishart distribution, using Tracy and Sultan(1993)'s results. Second, it investigates the variance-covariance matrix of random matrix $S_Y=YY'$ which has a non-central Wishart distribution. Third, it proposes the exact form of the third moment of the random matrix with non-central Wishart distribution.

  • In this paper, we develop the probability matching priors for the parameters of non-regular Pareto distribution. We prove the propriety of joint posterior distribution induced by probability matching priors. Through the simulation study, we show that the proposed probability matching Prior matches the coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense. A real data example is given.

  • This study classifies Korean syllables into various types and investigates the distribution of syllables by each type. Korean syllables are classified into four or eight types. In this study, they are classified into thirty-two types based on character combination in order to evaluate the intelligibility of Korean synthetic syllables. Among those Korean syllables derived from the possible combinations of Korean characters, only currently used syllables were selected. Based on this classification and distribution, representative and diagnosable testing materials can be made. These testing materials can be applicable to intelligibility tests of Korean synthetic syllables.

  • In this paper, we shall propose the AMLEs of the scale parameter and the location parameter in the two-parameter Rayleigh distribution based on progressive Type-II censored samples when one parameter is known. We also propose the AMLEs of the two parameters in the Rayleigh distribution based on progressive Type-II censored samples when two parameters are unknown. We simulate the mean squared errors of the proposed estimators through Monte Carlo simulation for various censoring schemes.

  • In this paper, we develope three modified empirical distribution function type tests, the modified Cramer-von Mises test, the modified Anderson-Darling test, and the modified Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for the two-parameter exponential distribution with unknown parameters based on multiply Type-II censored samples. For each test, Monte Carlo techniques are used to generate the critical values. The powers of these tests are also investigated under several alternative distributions.

  • We derive a test statistic for the general linear test in the ridge regression model. The exact distribution for the test statistic is too difficult to derive; therefore, we suggest an approximate reference distribution. We use numerical studies to verify that the suggested distribution for the test statistic is appropriate. A asymptotic result for the test statistic also is considered.

  • Wear simulation test have been conducted in mild, severe and transient wear regions by a four-ball wear tester. Wear particles are separatively deposited by the RPD technique, and quantitatively analysed in terms of wear particles size distribution. Characteristics of the wear particle size distribution are compare to the results of wear tests through both weibull parameters and center moment method of the weibull distribution function.

  • The aim of this article is to make a connection between the Pascal distribution series and some subclasses of normalized analytic functions whose coefficients are probabilities of the Pascal distribution. To be more precise, we investigate such connections with the classes of analytic univalent functions with positive coefficients in the open unit disk 𝕌.
