  • The transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cells are widely used for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and field probe calibrations. We propose the verification of TEM mode with statistical method using a four-port TEM cell. The verification results are compared with Normal, Rayleigh, and Gamma distribution. As a result, the 75 % quantile of the Rayleigh distribution is excellent agreement with the true quantiles for a number of calibration points.

  • Unsaturated hydraulic conductivity models have been widely used for the numerical modeling of water flow and contaminant transport in soils. In this study, a simple hydraulic conductivity model is developed by using information of particle-size distribution from the lognormal distribution model and its results are compared with those from the Kosugi-Mualem (KM) model. The accuracy of the proposed model is verified for observed data chosen from the international UNSODA database. Results showed that the proposed model produces adequate predictions of hydraulic conductivities. Performance of this model is generally better than the KM function.

  • Voltage sags are the most widespread quality issues affecting distribution systems. This paper describes in some detail the voltage sag characteristics due to different types and locations of fault in a practical low voltage power distribution system encountered in the UK. The results not only give utility engineers very useful information when identifying parts of the system most likely to pose problems for customer equipments, but also assist the facility personnel to make decisions on purchasing power quality mitigation equipment.

  • This paper presents the process on the construction for the remote distribution pole transformer monitoring system. Especially, this system uses CATV cable as communication media which is located in KEPCO's main distribution line. It has four major components such as sensor for measuring secondary voltage and currents of distribution transformer, RF modem for data modulating/de-modulating, communication media for sending/receiving of data, and pc server for monitoring the results of sensing or computing information. This paper also describes the configuration of these each component's configuration and its functions.

  • When we have an i.i.d. sample of size n from a continuous distribution, the distribution truncated on the left at the rth order statistic plays an important role in the theoretical analysis of the Type 2 censored data. The charaterization of distributions by the average of the conditional expectation and the average of the conditional information concerning the truncated distribution is studied here.

  • The well-known mode-mean-median inequality for the unimodal population distribution does not always hold for the frequency distribution. But many elementary statistics text books just mention that the relative location of the mean and median can be used to determine whether a distribution is positively or negatively skewed. In this paper we introduce the method generating data that is positively skewed but mean

  • A new bivariate beta distribution based on the Appell function of the third kind is introduced. Various representations are derived for its product moments, marginal densities, marginal moments, conditional densities and conditional moments. The method of maximum likelihood is used to derive the associated estimation procedure as well as the Fisher information matrix.

  • Information centric mobile network can significantly improve the data retrieving efficiency by caching contents at mobile edge. However, the cache pollution attack can affect the data obtaining process severely by requiring unpopular contents deliberately. To tackle the problem, we design an algorithm of mitigating cache pollution attacks in information centric mobile network. Particularly, the content popularity distribution statistic is proposed to detect abnormal behavior. Then a probabilistic caching strategy based on abnormal behavior is applied to dynamically maintain the steady-state distribution for content visiting probability and achieve the purpose of defense. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve higher request hit ratio and smaller latency for false locality content pollution attack than the CacheShield approach and the baseline approach where no mitigation approach is applied.
