  • To check the variability of the effective diffusion coefficient in the unsaturated porous soil media. a Monte Carlo simulation was done for the equation suggested by Millington and Quirk(1961). The results shows that the probability density function of D$_{c}$/D$_{o}$ is positively skewed. It means the chance of having less effective diffusion coefficient values in the soil media than mean value is high. Also, the distribution types of D$_{c}$/D$_{o}$ are about same regardless of assumed distribution types of input parameters.ers.ers.

  • In this paper, statistical estimation of the parameters of the bivariate exponential distribution are studied. Bayes estimators of the parameters are obtained and compared with the maximum likelihood estimators which are introduced by Freund. We know that the method of moments estimators coincide with the maximum likelihood estimators and Bayes estimators are more efficient than the maximum likelihood estimators in moderate samples. The asymptotic distributions of the maximum likelihood estimators and the estimator of mean time to system failure are obtained.

  • Pearn et al.(2002) supposed the $C_{pp}$ multiple process performance analysis chart. This chart displays multiple processes with the process variation and process departure on one single chart. But, this chart can not display the distribution of the process variation and process departure and is inappropriate for processes with non-normal distributions. With bootstrapping method, we can display the distribution of the process variation and process departure on the $C_{pp}$ multiple process performance analysis chart.

  • This paper is concerned with semiparametric Bayesian analysis of the proportional intensity regression model of the Poisson process for multiple event time data. A nonparametric prior distribution is put on the baseline cumulative intensity function and a usual parametric prior distribution is given to the regression parameter. Also we allow heterogeneity among the intensity processes in different subjects by using unobserved random frailty components. Gibbs sampling approach with the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm is used to explore the posterior distributions. Finally, the results are applied to a real data set.

  • In this paper, we examine the problem of estimating the sensitive characteristics and behaviors in a multinomial randomized response (RR) model. We analyze this problem through a Bayesian perspective and develop a Bayesian multinomial RR model in survey study. The Bayesian inference of multinomial RR model is a new approach to RR models.

  • Some tests of the goodness of fit of the uniform distribution between 0 and 1 are presented. The powers of the tests under certain alternatives are examined. As a result, the statistic based on the difference between the order statistics and the modal value of them gives good powers. We also give modifications of the statistic without using the extensive tables of the critical points.

  • By employing the vinylite corrosion technique, the distribution of the hepatic vein within the liver in 50 Korean native goats was observed. 1. In 50 vinylite casts, the principal branches of hepatic vein are Vena hepatica sinistra, Vena hepatica sinistra et medialis, Vena heapati dextralateralis et medialis, Vena hepatica caudatorum, Vena hepatica dorsolateralits: three chief branches are Vena hepatica sinistra, Vena hepatica dextra, Vena hepatica caudatorum. 2. In the liver of Korean goat are recognized three lobes, i.e. Lobus sinister, Lobus dexter and Lobus caudate.

  • The problem of estimating a smooth distribution function F at a point $\tau$ based on randomly right censored data is treated under certain smoothness conditions on F . The asymptotic performance of a certain class of kernel estimators is compared to that of the Kap lan-Meier estimator of F($\tau$). It is shown that the .elative deficiency of the Kaplan-Meier estimate. of F($\tau$) with respect to the appropriately chosen kernel type estimate. tends to infinity as the sample size n increases to infinity. Strong uniform consistency and the weak convergence of the normalized process are also proved.

  • Particle size distributions in 10 nm magnetite ferrofluids are analyzed based on both dc and ac magnetic measurements. Modified log-normal distributions are used for fitting the experimental results, which allows for a proper account of the narrow distributions. The calculated average particle sizes are in good agreement with the TEM results. However the ac method gives a much narrower distribution width than that of the dc magnetization curve fit. The proposed measurements combined with the analysis methods are useful for the characterization of ferrofluids being considered for biomedical applications.

  • In this paper, we use the moments of order statistics derived by Lieblein (1955) to develop the correlation goodness-of-fit test for the Rayleigh distribution. In such we simulate the percentage points of the test statistics for the one-parameter and two-parameter cases. In addition, we calculate the power of the proposed tests based on some alterative distributions. Finally, we apply the procedures developed in the paper to some real data.
