  • The KEPRI has been developing the medium/small scale Distribution Automation System(DAS) that adopts wireless transmission media for exchanging information between master and remote terminals. It was concluded that Short Message Service(SMS) of Personal Communication Service(PCS) was the best wireless transmission media for the medium/small scale DAS in the last year. However. we had problem that PCS had long transmission delay. Therefore. SMS phones will be substituted with Radio Link Protocol(RLP) modems having transmission delay less than 5 seconds. This paper describes wireless networks for DAS, practical experience.

  • Whenever faults(a fault) occur(s) in a particular section of a distribution system, some of loads get disconnected and are left unsupplied. Service should be restored to these affected load points as quickly as possible through network reconfiguration. An efficient technique is presented in this paper for this purpose. Network reduction and strategy testing the voltage and current constraints are the main contributions of this paper.

  • The rubber fender is used to absorb the berthing energy that is produced when a ship is near a port, and it prevents collision between the ship and port. If the rubber fender becomes defective, the berthing energy cannot be absorbed when it is near the port, and damage can result from collisions due to the hardening process. In this research, when the rubber fender is heated, collisions can cause cracks and other damage. It is also confirmed from the research the lifetime distribution of the rubber fender. The researcher has predicted using different variables and elongation that a rubber fender has an 11year lifespan at $20^{\circ}C$.

  • A total life model was developed to assess the service life of aging aircraft. The primary focus of this paper is the development of crack growth life projection using the response surface method. Crack growth life projection is a necessary component of the total life model. The study showed that the number of load cycles N needed for a crack to propagate to a specified size can be linearly related to the geometric parameter, material, and stress level of the component considered when all the variables are transformed to logarithmic values. By the Central Limit theorem, the ln N was approximated by Gaussian distribution. This Gaussian model compared well with the histograms of the number of load cycles generated from simulated crack growth curves. The outcome of this study will aid engineers in designing their crack growth experiments to develop the stochastic crack growth models for service life assessments.

  • The domestic liquefied natural gas project has been carried out as a national energy scheme since the late 1980's in Korea. The natural-gas supply for civilian demand is limited to the Kyung-In area. In addition, seven major city gas corporations which now participate in the project occupy the monopolistic service area. In this study, objective cost evaluation criteria for gas distribution and an improved proposal in the evaluation method are suggested. They will go forward in solving the problems to promote demand and prevent excess profit or deficit according to the physical characteristics of the monopolistic service area.

  • A total of 500 sera and lungs of slaughtered pigs were examined to investigate antibody titer, prevalence of pulmonary lesion, and interrelation among lung lesion score, type of pulmonary lesion and antibody titers by ELISA. The results obtained were as follows ; 1. The highest distribution of antibody titer was showed at 20 - 80 in M hyopneumoniae, 160-640 in P multocida type A and 160 - 640 in A pleuropneumoniae serotype 2 and 5. 2. The prevalence of pulmonary lesions was 84.0%, mean pulmonary lesion and mean lung score listed as 24.0$\pm$19.8% and 2.5$\pm$1.6, respectively. 3. In the prevalence of type of pulmonary lesion, enzootic pneumonia, pleuropneumonia and pleuritis were 58.2%, 10.0% and 15.8%, respectively. 4. Lung lesion score and type of pulmonary lesion were not interrelated with the distribution of antibody titer to specific pathogens, and causative pathogens of respiratory diseases were complicated with various bacteria.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of advertising of health functional food. We utilize 1,716 cases which underwent a screening before advertising from January to December in 2008. The results show the following findings. There were statistically differences between printing and broadcasting. Vitamin 613 cases have received the most review in the functional food types. There were statistically differences between manufacturers and distribution companies. March was the most screening in months. The results show the following findings. There were statistically differences between domestics and import products. In this study, Manufacturers are better than distribution companies for undergoing a screening of the health functional food advertisement.

  • This study was carried out to determine the genetic relationships among seven west African goat breeds : Casamance Goat (Kolda, Senegal), Labe Goat (Fouta Djallon, Guinea), three Sahel Goat (Djoloff, Senegal ; Maradi, Niger; Gorgol, Mauritania) red Sokoto Goat (Maradi, Niger) and Guera goat (Atar, Mauritania). The polymorphism of six microsatellites and the ${\alpha}_{s1}$-casein locus was analysed. The six microsatellite loci were polymorphic with a mean number of alleles ranging from 2.71 to 4.0. At the ${\alpha}_{s1}$-casein locus, A and B were the most frequent alleles, which are known to be associated with a high level of protein synthesis. A neighbour-joining tree and a Principal Component Analysis were performed and the reliability of both methods was tested. Our study shows that the genetic relationships among the breeds analysed correspond to their geographical distribution and in addition, that the Labe Goat is strongly separated from the other breeds. Among the seven markers used, four have an effect on the distribution of breeds while three seem to be non-informative.

  • To realize high-speed intrusion detection by accommodating many regular expression (regex)-based signatures and growing network link capacities, we propose the Service TimE-Aware Load-balancing (STEAL) algorithm. This work is motivated from the observation that utilization of a many-core network intrusion detection system (NIDS) is influenced by unfair computational distribution among many-core NIDS nodes. To avoid such unfair computational distribution, STEAL is designed to dynamically distribute a large volume of traffic among many-core NIDS nodes based on packet service time, which is represented by the deep packet time in many-core NIDS nodes. From experiments, we show that compared to the commonly used load-balancing algorithm based on arrival rate, STEAL increases the number of received packets (i.e., decreases the number of dropped packets) in many-core NIDS. Specifically, by integrating an open source NIDS (i.e. Bro) with STEAL, we show that even under attack-dominant traffic and with many signatures, STEAL can rapidly improve the performance of many-core NIDS to realize high-speed intrusion detection.

  • Purpose: In this paper, we provide an illustration of Indonesian youth Social Networking Service (SNS) behavior and its relation to their culinary activity. Specifically, their behavior of culinary activity preferences and also the factors affecting their action of spending their money. Data and methodology: We gathered primary data from stratified random questionnaire survey (406 youth). The gathered data was analyzed using text data mining and statistics using R statistical computing language. Results: 1) We found out why our respondents are interested in following the accounts of SNS food influencers: i.e. visually attracted to the posts, as their reference to find places to dine out, as their reference to try new food menu and to get nostalgic feeling about the food. 2) The respondents decide to actually go to the recommended culinary places because of several factors, specifically, its description (visual and text), location, word of mouth (WoM), the experience of being to that place and price. 3) Important factors affecting culinary spent are income, number of following food influencer account, SNS usage time and their interest when looking at WoM. Conclusions: SNS behavior influences Indonesian youth culinary activity preferences and spent.
