  • The purposes of this study were to clarify of floristic composition and the landscape structure on the habitats of each Ranunculus plant, which were distributed in Daejeon, Korea. Three taxa were distributed and investigated in this study. Floristic composition of habitats were organized by living in flatten open space needed a lot of sunlight and humidity species. Landscape ecological structure of habitats were defined by soils of coarse loamy and loamy skeletal, slope of under 15$^{\circ}$, under the (five percent of woody coverage at 100-300m above the sea levels. Distribution patterns of Ranunculus plants in Daejeon were presented on the 1km X 1km grid map.

  • Allocation of computing resources is a crucial issue when dealing with a huge number of tasks to be completed according to a given deadline and cost constraints. The task scheduling to several resources (e.g. grid, cloud or a supercomputer) with different characteristics is not trivial, especially if a trade-off in terms of time and cost is considered. We propose an allocation approach able to fulfill the given requirements about time and cost through the use of optimizing techniques and an adaptive behavior. Simulated productions of tasks have been run in order to evaluate the characteristics of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, we address a task allocation problem for a robot team that performs a search and attack mission. The robots are limited in sensing and communication capabilities, and carry different types of resources that are used to attack a target. The environment is uncertain and dynamic where no prior information about targets is given and dynamic events unpredictably happen. The goal of robot team is to collect total utilities as much as possible by destroying targets in a mission horizon. To solve the problem, we propose a distributed task allocation framework incorporated with effective resource management based on resource welfare. The framework we propose enables the robot team to retain more robots available by balancing resources among robots, and respond smoothly to dynamic events, which results in system performance improvement.

  • A Sensor Node in Wireless Sensor Network has very limited resources such as processing capability, memory capacity, battery power, and communication capability. When the communication between any two sensor nodes are required to be secured, the symmetric key cryptography technique is used for its advantage over public key cryptography in terms of requirement of less resources. Keys are pre-distributed to each sensor node from a set of keys called key pool before deployment of sensors nodes. Combinatorial design helps in a great way to determine the way keys are drawn from the key pool for distributing to individual sensor nodes. We study various deterministic key predistribution techniques that are based on combinatorial design.

  • This paper deals with the active and reactive power control of Grid connected system. It was shown that active power and reactive power can be dependently controlled with two individually adaptable parameters. The two parameters are power angle and voltage magnitude. Transient state will occur with active or reactive power reference value variation. This paper presents a new control strategy for active and reactive power control of less interaction and improved transient response. The paper details the control technique by the mathematical and electrical network analysis of the methodology. The performance was verified through computer simulation using MATLAB Simulink and experiment.

  • The interest in the access and integration of distributed massive data resources has increased recently. This paper presents the Advanced Collection Manager(CM) service with OGSA-DAI component which can access and integrate the distributed data resources. The Advanced CM service supports the data resource of various types. And it can provide the query, updating, transforming and delivering data via cooperating with other services in Grid Information Retrieval(Grid-IR or GIR) System. As a result, it can access and manage the data resource more flexible and efficient.

  • A palynological study of genus Dioscorea L. in Korea was conducted to evaluate the taxonomic implications. As a result of confirming the palynological characteristics of seven taxa of Dioscorea L., including six that are distributed in Korea and D. tokoro found in Japan, sections or species were classified according to the characteristics, such as the number of apertures, the polar end shape, and exine sculpturing. Specifically, the exine sculptures of D. coreana and D. tokoro, erroneously known to be distributed in Korea, are distinguished. The change in the number of apertures is closely associated with microsporogenesis, and it can be presumed that disulcate pollen might have been derived from monosulcate pollen in Dioscorea.

  • Commelina caroliniana Water, was founded in Jongdal-ri (Gujwa-eup, Jeju Island) for the first time, is widely distributed arable land near the coast and roads. C. caroliniana belongs to Commelinaceae and native to Bangladesh, India. This species can be distinguished from its allied species in Korea by several characters as followings: apex acuminate and obovate shape spathes, flowers have blue 3 petals, maroon spot on the antherode, fruit with 5 seeds in 3 ovaries. C. caroliniana is well known for its strong fertility, which can outcompate native grasses and further negatively effect on the grassland ecosystem. The species has already introduced and widely distributed across much of southeastern US and some of Asian countries. Considering the case of C. caroliniana's diffusion capacity and influence on the ecosystem, management system for prevent their spreading are required through monitoring. Given the great potential of spread found in C. caroliniana, continuous monitoring may be required.

  • With rapid progresses in information technologies, managing enterprise network resources as a whole becomes more important. Telecommunication Management Network (TMN) has been used to integrate network elements. TMN is complex to develop and manage because it has a centralized management service. Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) can overcome this complexity by the use of transparent distributed object processing mechanism. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to integrate TMN service with CORBA. A network management repository is built for this integration. In addition, a prototype that can partially support network management service is implemented to illustrate the usefulness of this repository.
