A Study on the Influence of Dietitians' Service Leadership on School Foodservice Employees' Attitudes (학교급식 영양사의 서비스 리더십이 조리종사원의 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine school foodservice employees' awareness on dietitians' service leadership and to analyze the effects of the service leadership on employee attitudes (leader reliability, value correspondence, and leader satisfaction). Questionnaires were distributed to 208 school foodservice employees from November 2007 to January 2008. The results were as follows. First, in terms of the employees' perception on the dietitians' service leadership, service belief gained the highest score, followed by insight, attitude, and ability: the average score was 3.8 point. Second, the leader reliability and leader satisfaction scores perceived by the employees were over 3.8 point on average but the awareness on the value correspondence was 3.43 point. Third, among the service leadership factors, service belief (p<0.001) and insight (p<0.001) had positive effects on leader reliability. Also, service belief (p<0.01), service ability (p<0.001), and insight (p<0.01) had positive effects on value correspondence. Finally, service belief (p<0.001), service ability (p<0.05), and insight (p<0.001) had positive effects on leader satisfaction. Fourth, a hypothesis test using path analysis revealed that dietitians' service leadership produced positive effects on school foodservice employees' attitudes (leader reliability, value correspondence, and leader satisfaction). In conclusion, the service leadership of dietitians directly contributed to leader satisfaction, value correspondence, and leader reliability in school foodservice employees.

The Mediating Effects of Self-efficacy on the Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Job Performance (변혁적 리더십과 직무성과와의 관계에서 자기효능감 매개효과 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of transformational leadership on job performance focused on the mediating effect of self-efficacy. The questionnaire was distributed from February 3rd to 23rd in 2014, of the 350 distributed questionnaire 316 copies were used in the analysis by moderating multiple regression method. The results of the study were as followed; Firstly, it was found that the factors of transformational leadership, charisma, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, and inspiration motivation had significant influence on job performance. Secondly, the effect of the factors of transformational leadership, except individual consideration, on job performance was significant influence by mediating effect of self-efficacy. Based on these findings, this paper suggests implications that restaurants have employees feel free, pleasant atmosphere to work and conduct self-participation for organization. Limitations of the research such as lack of type of leadership and hiring condition are need to be discussed.

The Effects of CEO Leadership on Employees' Job Satisfaction in Tourist Hotels (관광호텔 CEO의 리더십이 종사원 직무 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the effects of CEO leadership on Employees' job satisfaction in tourist hotels. Samples were the employees working at 10 deluxe hotels in Seoul and a total of 300 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, among which 191 valid ones were used for the analysis. After data cording, answers were processed by SPSS 12.0. As a result of the factor analysis on CEO leadership, 3 factors(management style, settlement style, and work style) were extracted; for employees' job satisfaction, 3 factors(work environment, service environment, and job environment) were extracted. As the results of the study, management style and work style among CEO leadership factors have a statistically positive impact on work environment. Next, management style has a statistically positive impact on service environment. Finally, management style and work style has a statistically positive impact on job environment.

An Investigation of the employee Job Satisfaction according to Leadership Style in Family Restaurant (패밀리레스토랑 중간관리자의 리더십스타일에 따른 종사원의 직무만족)

  • The purposes of this study were to measure the correlation between leadership style and job satisfaction in family restaurants, and to compare the effectiveness of two different styles of leadership: transformational and transactional. The questionnaire used in this study was designed to measure all variables in the research model, and was made two kinds for employees and for managers. It was distributed to 550 employees and 12 managers in 16 stores of 4 family restaurants, from September 10 to October 7, 2004. A total of 303 usable employees' questionnaires were received, giving a 55.0% response rate, and all of managers responded. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS Win(11.0) for the following analyses: descriptive, reliability, factor, ANOVA, correlation and cluster. The results were as follows. First, the most influential leader was the senior staff in most of the hierarchies that were studied. Second, transformational leadership had a positive correlation with job satisfaction for family restaurant employees, while transactional leadership had a negative correlation. Third, using cluster analysis, four leadership groups were identified: transformational(44%), transactional(29%), a combination of both styles(4%), and unidentifiable style(23%). Fourth the transformational leadership group produced e highest rates job satisfaction for family restaurant employees. The transactional leadership group produced the lowest job satisfaction. According to the results, the most reasonable leadership style in family restaurants is transformational leadership.

Effects of Coaching Leadership and Moderating Effects of Trust in Leader and Followership on Job Satisfaction among Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 코칭리더십 인식이 직무만족에 미치는 영향과 상사신뢰 및 팔로워십의 조절효과)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to suggest an efficient human-resources direction for the management of dental hygienists, the study analyzes the influential relationship between superior's coaching leadership as perceived by dental hygienists and their on the job satisfaction, and proves the moderating effects of leader trust and of followership in the process. Methods : To test the empirical model, data were collected by survey using structural self-administered questionnaires that were distributed to 300 dental hygienists working at dental clinics in the Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Gyeonggi areas, from 27 March to 10 April, 2015, 286 cases were used in final analysis. Results : Coaching leadership is found to have a significant influence on job satisfaction. Trust in a leader showed a significant main moderating effect on job satisfaction, on the other hand, followership showed a significant main effect, but no significant moderating effect, on job satisfaction. Conclusions : The results of this study imply that leadership factors such as coaching leadership and leader trust are crucial for improving the job satisfaction of dental hygienists, therefore, a program for enhancing the leadership skills of dental managers is needed in dental health organizations.

Ambidexterity and Leadership Agility in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)'s Performance: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

  • Ambidexterity and leadership agility have become the most researched topics to analyze their application in companies, especially in this dynamic era. Several researchers have analyzed it in large companies. However, only a few have discussed the two topics simultaneously and at the MSME level. This study aims to analyze the relationship between ambidexterity and leadership agility and innovation capability and performance at MSMEs in Yogyakarta and East Java, Indonesia. This study is analyzed by using quantitative methods with SEM (Structural Equation Model) methods. The data in this study is primary data that is obtained through distributing 230 questionnaires to MSME managers in Yogyakarta and East Java, Indonesia. From 230 questionnaires distributed, 200 questionnaires are returned and completed, so the response rate in this study is 86%. The results in this study indicate that ambidexterity and leadership agility have a significant effect on innovation capability and MSME performance. This study also proved that innovation capability has a significant effect on MSME performance. Therefore, it is recommended for MSME managers to develop ambidexterity and leadership agility so they can create innovation and good performance. In the end, this study has provided findings related to the combination of ambidexterity and leadership agility variables.

The Effect of Self-Leadership on Job Satisfaction and Customer Orientation: The Role of Supervisor Support

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to derive practical implications for human resource management to improve service quality by demonstrating the moderating effect of perceived supervisor support in the relationship between self-leadership, job satisfaction, and customer orientation. Research design, data, and methodology - 800 questionnaires were distributed and collected for beauty service companies with two or more employees. Among them, 602 data were analyzed using SPSS 24 and AMOS 24. For the assessment of goodness of fit of the models, TLI, CFI, RMSEA indices were used. Result -The empirical results are as follows. First, it was found that self-leadership had a positive effect on job satisfaction and customer orientation. Second, job satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on customer orientation. Third, it was found that job satisfaction had a mediating effect in the relationship between self-leadership and customer orientation. Fourth, empirical data showed that the moderating effect of supervisor support in the relationship between self-leadership on job satisfaction was significant. Conclusion -This study contributed to the expansion of related theories by analyzing the moderating effect of perceived supervisor support in the relationship between self-leadership, job satisfaction, and customer orientation, and provides practical implications for efficient human resource management.

Determinant Factors for Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Leadership Attributes: An Empirical Study from Malaysia

  • Most leadership styles are generally designed to enhance the cognitive and behavioral skills of leaders with the implicit assumption that this would ultimately translate into high performance. As we are moving towards Industry 4.0, organizations must employ leadership styles that will help the organization succeed. Thus, the objective of this paper is to confirm the determinant factors for Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) leadership attributes in Malaysian manufacturing companies. Stratified sampling was used to select the sample. Data was collected using the online survey method, where the response rate was 43 percent. The respondents consisted of respondents aged from 31-40 years old, with 69 respondents. In terms of race, the highest number of respondents are the Malays. Questionnaires were distributed to middle and top-level managers from manufacturing companies which were listed in the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to confirm the reliability and validity of the construct. Based on the analysis, 66 items could be used to measure the 4IR leadership attributes. The validation of 4IR leadership can also provide predictive implications on improving leaders' performance, given the different attributes confirmed by the findings.

The Influence of Mothers' Transformational Leadership in the Family on the Psychological Well-Being and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy of Adolescents (어머니의 가정내 변혁적리더십이 청소년자녀의 심리적복지감 및 진로결정자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was is to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership in families and psychological well-being and career decision-making self-efficacy. The samples were randomly selected from high school students studying liberal arts in Seoul. 400 survey questionnaires were distributed March 11 through 18, 2010. Among them, 386 completed surveys were utilized as the data for the statistic analyses. SPSS were applied. The main results of the study are as follows. First, adolescent children of mothers with leadership have higher psychological well-being than those from families of mothers without leadership. This has been determined as a result of reviewing the psychological well-being of adolescent children according to their mothers' transformational leadership in the family. Second, the adolescent group with mothers who show transformational leadership in managing the home have higher career decision-making self-efficacy than the group without such mothers. This was determined as a result of reviewing adolescent children's career decision-making self-efficacy according to mother's transformational leadership level in the family. Third, career decision-making self-efficacy according to adolescents' psychological well-being show positive relations by group. That is, adolescents living table lives are more positive about their future. Lastly, when comparing the relative contribution of the mother's transformational leadership in the family and psychological well-being on career decision-making self-efficacy, it has gained more credibility as stage ads. Based on the results, when mothers nurture children with a affection-based autonomy, children gain higher psychological well-being, which leads to firm beliefs about constructive futures. Therefore, for successful and systematic career development, CEO mothers' transformational leadership should serve as its foundation.

Effects of CEO Leadership and Employee's QM Participation on Innovation and Business Performances in Automotive' s Vendor (경영혁신성과에 리더십과 구성원 참여가 미치는 영향 - 자동차 협력기업을 중심으로 -)

  • The CEO leadership and employee's concerning and participation to quality management innovation activity is critical factor for improving the business performance. This empirical study is aims to find that whether the quality management activity is significant or not in the automotive parts suppliers. To perform this research, we distributed 250 sheets totally, and withdraw 194 sheets. We analysed 169 sheets that we could use for this research using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. We had the results that CEO leadership is significantly positive effects on the employees's participation to quality management. And the result of process improvement have positively effective and significant effects on the product improvement result and business performance of firms.
