In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient proactive data dissemination protocol with relatively low delay to cope well with highly mobile sink environments in sensor networks. In order for a dissemination tree to continuously pursue a dynamic sink, we exploit two novel algorithms: forward sink advertisement and distributed fast recovery. In our protocol, the tree is shared with the other slave sinks so that we call it Dynamic Shared Tree (DST) protocol. DST can conserve considerable amount of energy despite maintaining robust connection from all sources to sinks, since tree maintenance of DST is accomplished by just distributed local exchanges. In addition, since the DST is a kindof sink-oriented tree, each source on the DST disseminates data with lower delay along the tree and it also facilitates in-network processing. Through simulations, it is shown that the presented DST is considerably energy-efficient, robust protocol with low delay compared to Directed Diffusion, TTDD, and SEAD, in highly mobile sink environment.
In this paper, we analyzed the known agent tracking models and proposed a new agent tracking model based on the distributed event service that always assures reliable tracking. Also we experimented the Performance of the event servers on the agent monitoring system that implements the distributed event service and showed their performance to decrement gracefully. The proposed tracking model doesn't make only several clients trace a mobile agent which moves among agent servers autonomously, but also supports two types of agent tracking agent location tracking that notifies agent location to the clients and path establishment that maintains reliable connection between agent servers for message delivery.

A novel distributed compress-and-forward (CF) system based on multi-relay network is presented. In this system, as the direct link between the source and destination is invalid due to some reasons, such as the limited power, special working environment, or even economic factors, relays are employed to receive analog signals and carry on distributed compressed encoding. Subsequently, the digital signals are transmitted to the destination via wireless channel. Moreover, a theoretical analysis for the system is provided by utilizing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) theory and Shannon channel capacity theory, and the rate-distortion function as well as the connection between the transmission rate and the channel capacity are constructed. In addition, an optimal signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) -based power allocation method is proposed to maximize the quantization SNR under the limited total power. Simulation result shows that the proposed CF system outperforms the amplify-and-forward (AF) system versus the SNR performance.

In recent years, as the demand for distributed power has increased, the need for microgrids connected to grid power and renewable power generation sources has emerged. In the case of DC microgrids, reactive power does not occur, and power conversion losses are reduced compared to AC when connecting to the load and power grid[2]. With the revitalization of the DC distribution network industry, various studies and demonstrations of DC microgrids have been carried out. In the case of the recent unit distribution, its stability and effectiveness have been verified through empirical and research analysis. However, there is a lack of empirical tests to prevent chain accidents for the protection of the power grid circuits and the misoperation of the distributed power system caused by individual accidents when connecting various distributed power sources and power grids. In this paper, the operation plan of a stable multi-circuit DC distribution connection for the demonstration site was verified through the protection cooperation and operation algorithm for the stable linkage management of the DC distribution network composed of such a multi-circuit.
Large studs were suggested not only for the design of steel-concrete composite bridges with simplified sections but also for the shear connection in precast decks requiring uniform distribution of shear pockets. Based on the push-out test results on studs with diameters of more than 25 mm, partial composite beams with 40%-degree shear connection were fabricated, and static tests were performed. The ultimate strength and horizontal shear load redistribution of partial composite beams, which have parameters of stud shank diameters and distribution, were evaluated, and group failure in the shear span was observed. Since the flexural strength of composite beams are dependent on the strength of their shear connection, the strength of the stud connection was estimated and it showed considerably higher shear strength. From the load-slip curves, the sufficient ductility and load redistribution of large studs were confirmed. Uniformly distributed large studs can provide proper ultimate behavior of composite beams.

Accidents or faults in the transmission and distribution system are never completely avoidable, and short-circuit and earth faults are occurs despite the efforts of the TSO and DSO. Recently, the connection to the transmission and distribution system of large-capacity new and renewable distributed power has increased rapidly and has various effects on the operation of the system. In order to minimize this, connection standards such as FRT (Fault-Ride-Through) have been established to provide wind turbines or solar inverters. In the event of a major faults of the power system, the operation support shall be provided so that the operator can stably operate the system by smoothly performing connection maintenance or rapid system separation. In this paper, in order to appropriately determine whether the FRT condition, which is the grid connection criterion for a representative DERs, is sufficient, a detection system using a PMU (Phasor Measurement Unit) that measures a synchro-phasors was designed and deployment and a system accident due to a generator step-out to analyze and evaluate the proposed system based on the case.
In a warehouse, because there exist frequent changes of stock status and the quality of some contents are influenced by the environment such as temperature, fast and accurate management of the warehouse's environment is very important for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). However, due to the absence of a unified standard for the communication protocol between RFID nodes, the connection between RFID nodes can be broken in case of movement of a RFID reader to a region with a different protocol. Moreover, centralized MAC schemes for RFID communications in previous studies have severe problems. For an example, if a cluster header disappears from the cluster due to the cluster header's movement or bad channel conditions, the RFID member nodes of the cluster waste lots of time and energy to re-elect a new cluster header. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a WiMedia Distributed MAC (D-MAC) scheme for RFID communications and its cooperative relay transmission scheme for WMS applications Simulation results show performance improvement at the RFID node by using the proposed cooperative relay transmission scheme.
It is difficult to test a distributed system because of the task of controlling concurrent events,. Existing works do not propose the test sequence generation algorithm in a formal way and the amount of message is large due to synchronization. In this paper, we propose a formal test sequence generation algorithm using logical clock to control concurrent events. It can solve the control-observation problem and makes the test results reproducible. It also provides a generic solution such that the algorithm can be used for any possible communication paradigm. In distributed test, the number of channels among the testers increases non-linearly with the number of distributed objects. We propose a new remote test architecture for solving this problem. SDL Tool is used to verify the correctness of the proposed algorithm and it is applied to the message exchange for the establishment of Q.2971 point-to-multipoint call/connection as a case study.
In order to have a superconductive connection between the wire-wound pickup coil and input coil, typically Nb terminal blocks with screw holes are used. Since this connection structure occupies large volume, large stray pickup area can be generated which can pickup external noise fields. Thus, SQUID and connection block are shielded inside a superconducting tube, and this SQUID module is located at some distance from the distal coil of the gradiometer to minimize the distortion or imbalance of uniform background field due to the superconducting module. To operate this conventional SQUID module, we need a higher liquid He level, resulting in shorter refill interval. To make the fabrication of gradiometers simpler and refill interval longer, we developed a novel method of connecting the pickup coil into the input coil. Gradiometer coil wound of 0.125-mm diameter NbTi wires were glued close to the input coil pads of SQUID. The superconductive connection was made using an ultrasonic bonding of annealed 0.025-mm diameter Nb wires, bonded directly on the surface of NbTi wires where insulation layer was stripped out. The reliability of the superconductive bonding was good enough to sustain several thermal cycling. The stray pickup area due to this connection structure is about $0.1\;mm^2$, much smaller than the typical stray pickup area using the conventional screw block method. By using this compact connection structure, the position of the SQUID sensor is only about 20-30 mm from the distal coil of the gradiometer. Based on this compact module, we fabricated a magnetocardiography system having 61 first-order axial gradiometers, and measured MCG signals. The gradiometers have a coil diameter of 20 mm, and the baseline is 70 mm. The 61 axial gradiometer bobbins were distributed in a hexagonal lattice structure with a sensor interval of 26 mm, measuring $dB_z/dz$ component of magnetocardiography signals.

As internet telephony services based on Session initiation Protocol (SIP) enter the spotlight as marketable technology, many products based on SIPs have been developed and utilized for home and office telephony services. The call connection of an internet phone is classified into specific call connections and group call connections. Group call connections have a forking function which delivers the message to all of the group members. This function requires excessive message control for a call connection and creates heavy traffic in the network. In the internet cail system model. most of the call-setup messages are directed to the proxy server during a short time period. This heavy message load brings an unwanted delay in message processing and. as a result, call setup can not be made. To solve the delay problem, we simplified the analysis of the call-setup message in the proxy server, and processed the forking function distributed for the group call-setup message. In this thesis, a new system model to minimize the load is proposed and the subsequent implementation of this model demonstrates the performance improvement.
