  • The thesis of this analytical study includes 1) the generation of annual and monthly discharge regarding single hydrological variable at single site, 2)comparsion with the historical records and the generation, and 3) changing the monthly generatied discharge into annual. The conclusion of this will be used for the future plan for water resources development. Annual discharges at waegwan are characterized by log-normal distirbution and persistence-absent. Also, the random number generator causes the errors in the generation of annual discharge. The serial correlation coefficients of the generated annual discharge have less value than that of historical records, while the correlation coefficient and slope in January have(+) value and opposite to historical record. To change the monthly generated discharge into annual is not proper.

  • Algal flora and community structure of benthic marine algae in the subtidal zone, Yeongil Bay area were studied. The number of algal species in the quadrats were identified totally 78: 2 Cyanophyta, 10 Chlorophyta, 19 Phaeophyta, and 47 Rhodophyta. The dominant species based on biomass were Sargassum hornerii, Undaria pinnatifida, and Sargassum thunbergii. Vertical distribution was clear by the representative algae such as, Undaria pinnatifida, Sargassum thunbergii, Sargassum horneri, Corallina spp. in the upper subtidal zone, Undaria pinnatifida, Sargassum horneri, Caulerpa okamurae in the middle zone, and Dictyopteris divaricata in the lower zone.

  • Distribution system is one of large and complicated sytem, consisted of a great number of components. Therefore efficient operation based on precise analysis and computation methods is indispensable accommodating growing loads. This paper describes an optimal operation problem to relieve overload flow in radial distribution systems by using modified block model. The problem is formulated as a network problem of synthesizing the optimal spanning tree in a graph, branch and bound method is used for the optimization. Especially modified block model proposed in this paper is validated more practical than conventional model. These methods can be applied to two types of distribution system problems such as, 1) planning problem to check the capability of relieving overload at normal rating, 2) emergency operation problem to determine switching scheme for minimizing customer loads affected by a fault. Examples of application to these problems are discussed.

  • We consider a FIFO single-server queueing model in which both the arrival and service processes are modulated by the amount of work in the system. The arrival process is a non-homogeneous Poisson process(NHPP) modulated by work, that is, with an intensity that depends on the work in the system. Each customer brings a job consisting of an exponentially distributed amount of work to be processed. The server processes the work at various service rates which also depend on the work in the system. Under the stability conditions obtained by Browne and Sigman(1992) we derive the exact stationary distribution of the work W(t) and the first exit probability that the work level b is exceeded before the work level a is reached, starting from x$\in$[a, b].

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the fundamental properties of polyurethan concrete. Polyurethane must be expanded by means of a blowing agent during polymerization. Chemical blowing is caused by the reaction water with isocyanate. Binder system for polyurethane concrete is based on polyol and isocyanate with catalyst, surfactant, and methyl chloride. Polyurethane concretes are prepared with various grading of aggregate, and tested for compressive, flexural strengths, flow test, foaming multiple proportion, working life, condition of surface, distirbution of aggregate. From the test results, the foaming of polyurethane concretes are affceted by amount and grading of aggregate. Workability increases with raising amount of methy chloride and working life reduced according to amount of catalyst. The mix proportion of B with methyl chloride of 1% and catalyst of 0.1g for polyurethane concrete is recommended in consideration of strengths, condition of surface and balance between cost and performance.

  • watershed Model by mathematical formulation is one of the powerful tool to analyze the hydrologic process in a watershed. The seasonal watershed model is one of the mathematial model from which the monthly streamflow can be simulated and forcasted for given precipitaion data. This model also enables us to compute the monthly runoff at each subbgasin when the basin is subdivided into several small subbasins. The computation of runoff volume makes a Prediction of the areal distirbution of runoff volume for a given precipitation data. Several basins in Han River basin were chosen to simulate the monthly runoff and compute the runoff at each subbasin. A simple logarithmic regression were conducted between runoff ratio and area ratio. The correlation was very high and the equation can be used for prediciting flood volume when flood at downstream gaging station is know.

  • Purpose - The purpose of the study was to find out factors having influence upon management of franchise convenience stores being distribution business by interview with franchisees in accordance with Delphi method and to investigate marketing strategy of increase income. Research design, data, and methodology - This study investigated not only franchisees but also head office's franchise consultants of convenience stores carefully by Delta technique to suggest actual solutions of practice and to be different from precedent studies. Delphi method's interview and questionnaire were used to investigate performance of franchisees. 120 franchisees were interviewed to consist of men and women. Results - FC visited franchise stores to investigate: Franchisees thought of keeping of exact information on commodity information and sales promotion events, and admitted of franchiser's effort of growth and development of stores and improper visit frequency of stores and low effort of solving of difficulty of franchisees. Conclusions - More than 80% of the franchisees cognized more than 70% of performance upon request of ordering from headquarters: Not only franchisees but also headquarters need to lessen gap of difference of cognition. Franchise headquarters was thought to give services below than common level, and service manual and operation manual were thought to be high. Headquarters need to give practical support service.

  • For the performance analysis and traffic control of ATM networks carrying video sequences, need an appropriate video traffic model. In this paper, we propose a new traffic model for MPEG compressed videos which are widely used for any type of video applications at th emoment. The proposed modeling scheme uses scene-based traffic characteristics and considers the correlation between frames of consecutiv GOPs. Using a simple scene detection algorithm, scene changes are modeled by state transitions and the number of GOPs of a scene state is modeled by a geometric distirbution. Frames of a scene stte are modeled by mean I, P, and B frame size. For more accurate traffic modeling, quantization errors (residual bits) that the state transition model using mean values has are compensated by autoregressive processes. We show that our model very well captures the traffic chracteristics of the original videos by performance analysis in terms of autocorrelation, histogram of frame bits genrated by the model, and cell loss rate in the ATM multiplexer with limited buffers. Our model is able to perrorm translations between levels (i.e., GOP, frame, and cell levels) and to estimate very accurately the stochastic characteristics of the original videos by each level.

  • The author has observed the distribution of the tissue mast cells in 67 various tumors and precancerous lesions which occurred in the oral cavity. The specimcns ware obtained from the department of oral pathology, college of dentistry, Seoul National University, from Jan. 1970 to June, 1973. The results are as follows: 1) The number of the tissue mast cell was decrease predominantly in malignant tumors, especially in squamous cell carcinomas and in sarcomas. 2) The number of the tissue mast cell distirbution in adenocarcinomas one of malignant group was sligtly increased in with healthy oral mucosa. 3) The number of tissue mast cells in ameloblastomas one of benign group of the tumor of epithelial originwas more decreased than that in healthy oral mucosa. 4) The number of tissue mast cells in fibromas was more than that in healthy oral mucosa. 5) The number of the tissue mast cells in mixed tumors was increased one and a half times as many as that in healthy oral mucosa. 6) The number of the tissue mast cells in mixed tumors was increased one and a half times as many as that in healthy oral mucosa. 7) The tissue mast cell distribution can be observed more densly in the stroma of tumors than in the parenchyme of tumors.
