  • Vehicle clutch measurement for disc cushion variation was developed for the production of high quality Dual clutch transmissions. The developed device is composed of load cells for load measurement and LVDT for measuring the distance variation measurement in cushion variation. The servo motor-driven electric press for flexible loads that was developed was controlled by a PC-based HMI system, LabVIEW, and the device was able to continuously record real time measurement data with the accuracies of ${\pm}0.1\;kgf$ load and ${\pm}5{\mu}m$ cushion amount, which is far above the requirements of commercial vehicle standards.

  • This paper presents an information about the heat transfer characteristics of impinging jet in eletronic equipment with infrared image processing unit. There have been many experimental investigations and theoretical studies on impinging jet because of application in a wide variety of industrial process including electronic equipment. In this study, we used infrared image processing unit to visualize heat transfer characteristics of impinging jet in electronic equipment. Infrared image processing unit is one of non-contact temperature measuring methods and it is possible to minimize flow resistance and this measurement is comparatively accurate. The main parameters are nozzle exit angle $(30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;60^{\circ},\;75^{\circ},\;90^{\circ})$ and distance between nozzle and heat source is fixed 6d("d" is diameter of circular nozzle(10 mm). Reynolds number is 4500.

  • In this paper, spherical aberration and light concentrating efficiency of lens was measured. The measuring system is applying spherical aberration occurrence principal and could measure a temperature at focal plane by using the thermocouple. The sun which is located in infinite distance and could makes parallel ray is used as a illuminant or heat source in experiments. It is confirmed that light concentrating efficiency of optical lens is in inverse proportion to spherical aberration and.

  • Hofstede cultural value model is one of the most influential model for cross-cultural studies to measure national difference. In this study, we examine that Hofstede Cultural Dimensions can be measured by World Value Surveys. Selected WVS questions for 31 measurable countries after Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA), approved valid through empirical analysis. It is applicable that Individualism values(IND) has related to 2 questionnaires including life satisfaction, Power Distance values(PDI) to 2 questionnaires about political action(Signing a petition and Joining in boycotts), Masculinity values(MAS) to 2 sexual-role questionnaires like "University is more important for a boy than for a girl", Uncertainty Avoidance values (UAI) to 3 questionnaires about confidence(Parliament, The Political parties and Justice System), Long-Term Oriented values(LTO) to 4 questionnaires including "How proud of nationality" and Indulgence versus Restraints values (IVR)to 2 questionnaires including Feeling of Happiness.

최소 오차 원 해석을 위한 최적 해상도에 관한 연구 (The Optimal Resolution for Circle Analysis with the Minimum Error)

  • In this paper, an algorithm for determining the optimal resolution has been described for measuring the actual length of circular objects. As the resolution gets higher, the measurement error in general becomes smaller because of the reduced distance per pixel. However, the higher resolution makes circular objects enlarged, which may produce an ill-conditioned system. That is, a small error in the boundary positions may result in a large error in the analysis of the circular objects. Taking this fact into account, a new measure is proposed to determine the optimal resolution. The actual errors have been calculated with various resolutions and the resolution with the minimum error has been decided as the optimal resolution. The analysis using various circles with different sizes indicates that the minimum measurement error is obtained when the whole circle appears in the screen as large as possible, regardless of the size of circle. The experimental results using real images have verified the validity of our analysis.

  • Ultrasonic Spectroscopy technique, covering a wide frequency range, is one of the powerful Nondestructive Evaluation method for detection of microdefects and thickness measurement of thin film below the linit of ultrasonic distance resolution in various types of masterials and composites, provides a useful information that connot be obtained by a conventional measuring system using a single frequency. Results of computer simulation of multiple reflection wave were applied for particular cases : measurements of thickness and Ultrasonic wave velocities propagating normal to the surface in Acryle thin films can be evaluted by using the interference phenomenon, even dimensions of interest are smaller than the ultrasonic wavelength. The repeatability of the thickness measurement in 0.28 mm thin film was 10$\^$-3/.

  • Currently power of the diesel engine is increasing continuously, where the wearing problems become more severe. The wearing happens irregularly inside the cylinder, which causes a high burden to the marine engine. In this paper, a novel scheme to measure the wearing and to represent the engine states has been proposed. To monitoring the states of the marine engine efficiently, a laser displacement sensor has been utilized to measure the wearing happening inside the marine engine. To eliminate the noise signals in the distance measurement, the wavelet transform has been adopted, which is robust against the noises caused by vibrations. An engine simulator is designed to develop the system for measuring the engine wears, where the superiority of the wavelet transform against the conventional filtering schemes has been demonstrated.

Michelson 간섭계에 의한 고체의 선팽창계수 측정방법 (Measurement Method of Linear Expansion Coefficient for Solid Matter using Michelson Interferometer)

  • This paper deals with the measurement theory and technique of linear expansion coefficient for solid material using Michelson interferometer. The Michelson interferometer produces interference fringes by splitting a beam of monochromatic light so that one beam strikes a fixed mirror and the other a movable mirror. When the reflected beams are brought back together, an interference pattern results. Precise distance measurements until a quarter of wave length can be made with the Michelson interferometer by moving the mirror and counting the interference fringes which move by a photo diode. This paper represents the application of Michelson interferometer for measuring infinitesimal length system and shows the measurement method of linear expansion coefficients for various materials like copper, aluminum and iron. the results are good agreement with theoretical value within margin of error for each materials.

  • The test cell for preventing the edge effect reducing the intrinsic breakdown strength of polypropylene film and measuring the intrinsic breakdown strength of the film was developed. The new approach was to develope an electrode system with an edge region which is carefully graded over an extended distance. The new test arrangement employed a central circular electrode at high voltage and a set of nine concentric surrounding rings each controlled in potential by external grading resistors to be at decreasing potentials from that at the center in 10% increments. Two different size structures using the same basic principle were tried and were both found to be successful. The test electrodes were manufactured using standard printed circuit technology and were chosen to be copper on high dielectric constant GIO board.

  • In this paper we propose a new RF range measurement method. Using two codes which have different chip rate, we transmit one code toward the direction of targets and calculate the distance by comparing it with the other untransmitted reference code. Because the measuring process is fully digitalized, the stability, resolution, flexibility, and compactness of the system are good. Some experimental results are provided to show the validity and the performance of the proposed method.
