원거리 학습을 이용한 실시간 PLC 실습환경 개발 및 적용사례 (A Case Study of On-line PLC Laboratories Using Distance Learning)

  • This paper describes the development of on-line Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) laboratories to teach the detailed operation of a PLC using distance learning approach. The PLC has become a key component to provide intelligence for machines in CIM environment. This study introduces a case study that teaches PLC programming in distance learning environment. The study describes the contents of PLC laboratories and workstation set ups. The study concludes with problems found and proposes the ways to improve the on-line laboratories.

한국판 원격교육학습환경척도의 타당도 검증과 지각된 학업성취도 및 사이버교육만족도와의 관계 연구 (Study on validity verification of Korean version of DELES and its relationship with perceived learning achievement and cyber education satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 원격교육학습환경 한국판 척도의 타당도를 검증하고 지각된 학업성취도와 사이버교육 만족도와의 관계를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 K 사이버대학교 재학중인 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 그 결과로 254개의 표본을 분석에 투입하였다. 탐색적, 확인적 요인분석을 통해 원격교육학습환경척도의 구성요인을 검증하고 지각된 학업성취도와 원격교육만족도와의 관계를 구조방정식 분석을 통해 모형을 검증하였다. 그 결과 원격교육학습환경 한국판 척도는 교수자 지원, 학생간 상호작용과 협동, 개인적 연관성, 수업 실제성, 능동적 학습, 학습자 자율성 등의 6개 요인으로 구성되었으며 확인적 요인분석을 통해 검증한 모형적합도 역시 적합한 수준으로 나타났다. 구조방정식의 경로 분석 결과 원격교육학습환경이 학업성취도에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 지각된 학업성취도를 매개로 하여 사이버교육만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 지각된 학업성취도 역시 사이버교육만족도에 직접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 결론 및 시사점을 제시하였다.

Investigating Islamic Studies Teachers' Attitudes Towards Utilizing Virtual Learning Environment in Distance Teaching among Primary Stage Pupils

  • This research aimed at investigating Islamic Studies teachers' attitudes towards utilizing virtual learning environment in distance teaching among primary stage pupils. It also aimed at determining the statistical differences among variables due to sex, educational qualification, number of years of experience, and training sessions. This research adopted the descriptive approach. The sample consisted of male and female primary teachers of Islamic Studies (N=250) in governmental schools in Taif. The questionnaire was used as a main research tool. It included (20) items. Results showed that Islamic Studies teachers' attitudes towards utilizing virtual learning environment in distance teaching among primary stage pupils were ranked to a medium degree. There was a statistically significant difference among primary Islamic Studies teachers' attitudes due to sex variable. It was recommended to adopt more training sessions and seminars for adopting the idea of utilizing virtual learning environments among Islamic Studies teachers at boys' and girls' school in Mecca through emphasizing its significance and benefits in Teaching.

Virtual Go to School (VG2S): University Support Course System with Physical Time and Space Restrictions in a Distance Learning Environment

  • Distance learning universities provide online course content. The main methods of providing class contents are on-demand and live-streaming. This means that students are not restricted by time or space. The advantage is that students can take the course anytime and anywhere. Therefore, unlike commuting students, there is no commuting time to the campus, and there is no natural process required to take classes. However, despite this convenient situation, the attendance rate and graduation rate of distance learning universities tend to be lower than that of commuting universities. Although the course environment is not the only factor, students cannot obtain a bachelor's degree unless they fulfill the graduation requirements. In both commuter and distance learning universities, taking classes is an important factor in earning credits. There are fewer time and space constraints for distance learning students than for commuting students. It is also easy for distance learning students to take classes at their own timing. There should be more ease of learning than for students who commute to school with restrictions. However, it is easier to take a course at a commuter university that conducts face-to-face classes. I thought that the reason for this was that commuting to school was a part of the process of taking classes for commuting students. Commuting to school was thought to increase the willingness and motivation to take classes. Therefore, I thought that the inconvenient constraints might encourage students to take the course. In this research, I focused on the act of commuting to school by students. These situations are also applied to the distance learning environment. The students have physical time constraints. To achieve this goal, I will implement a course restriction method that aims to promote the willingness and attitude of students. Therefore, in this paper, I have implemented a virtual school system called "virtual go to school (VG2S)" that reflects the actual route to school.

UML을 이용한 원격교원연수관리시 효율화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Efficiency of the Distance Teachers′ Training Management System Applied by UML)

  • Even though the distance education via web has a great advantage to overcome time and space, its problem is that the management of trainees is not efficient compared with classroom and group education. This problem is a great obstacle to the objects and achievement standards of distance education, giving controversial arguments to the advocators of distance education. Distance educators need to monitor the trainees'participation and responses continuously and offer appropriate feedback to the trainees. However, the existing distance education system only focuses on teaching and learning activities, and as a result, the efficient management function of distance education is not available. Accordingly, the study attempts to find out the appropriate managing elements of distance teacher training in order to effectively achieve the goals of teacher training and the efficient management of distance education. Also, it proposes distance teacher training management system that offers appropriate feedback to trainees, applying the derived elements of distance teacher training to the training processes. To verify the efficiency of the system, hypotheses on related items of distance teacher education and learning types are suggested, and the achievement degree of learning and its relations are investigated through questionnaire of learning types. In addition, a system using UML which is the standard of object-oriented modeling language is devised, so. that mutual management, language independence and convenient development environment as well as reusability can be offered, and so the design standardization and efficient system realization could be achieved, while flexible change of system according to education process and computing environment is possible.

The Effect of the Delivery Format on Teaching Presence, Learning Presence, and Learning Outcomes in Distance Learning of Nursing Students: Synchronous versus Asynchronous Learning

  • Purpose: This study was performed to explore the effect of the delivery format on teaching presence, learning presence, and learning outcomes in distance learning of nursing students. Methods: A descriptive survey was conducted to understand teaching presence, learning presence, and learning outcomes depending on the delivery format of distance learning. Quota sampling methodology was used to recruit 295 nursing students from all over the country, and data collection was done from July 27 to September 10, 2020. The first delivery format for distance learning was synchronous learning in which communication between the instructor and students occurred simultaneously. The second delivery format was asynchronous learning in which prerecorded videos were provided and communication did not occur simultaneously. Results: In synchronous learning, teaching presence (especially direct facilitation) and learning presence (especially emotional expression) had a statistical significance that was higher than in asynchronous learning. However, in learning outcomes, there was no statistically significant difference. There were significant positive correlations between teaching presence, learning presence, and learning outcomes, and there were significant positive correlations. Conclusion: It can be suggested that learning outcomes can be improved if presence is improved in the distance learning environment based on the results of this study. It is necessary to add contact with nursing students and instructors to improve teaching presence in the asynchronous learning, and it is necessary to help students express their emotions to improve learning presence.

온라인 교육 환경에서 효율적 학습자 문제추천을 위한 스마트 컨트랙트 연구 (Smart contract research for efficient learner problem recommendation in online education environment)

  • 학습자 주도의 지속적 원격교육 환경을 위하여 학습자의 정확한 학습 패턴을 고려한 올바른 문제 추천 가이드에 대한 필요성이 증대하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 원격교육환경에서 수집되는 학습자의 문제패턴에 대하여 상황별 가중치를 부여하여 해당 데이터를 기반의 개별 학습자의 최적 문제추천 경로를 제시하는 방법으로 블록체인 기반 스마트 컨트랙트 기술을 연구하였다. 본 연구의 성능평가를 위하여 기존 유사 학습 환경과의 학습만족도 및 문제추천가이드의 유용성과 학습자 데이터 처리속도를 분석하였으며 본 연구를 통하여 15% 이상 학습 만족도 향상과 기존 학습 환경 대비 20% 이상의 학습데이터 처리속도향상을 확인하였다.

원격수업 시대, 가정의 ICTs 환경 적합성: 가구 및 가구원 수별 스마트기기 보유 단기 종단적 비교 (Home ICTs environment for distance learning contexts: A longitudinal comparison of household smart devices)

  • 코로나19 확산으로 초·중·고등학교에서 비대면 원격수업이 시행되고 있으나 가정의 ICTs 환경이 어떻게 갖추어져 있는지에 대한 실증데이터를 분석한 연구는 부족한 상황이다. 가정의 ICTs 환경이 원격수업에 적합한지 알아보기 위해 한국미디어패널조사 데이터를 사용하여 2012년과 2019년 사이 스마트기기 보유량의 변화와 가구 특성에 따른 스마트기기 보유량 차이를 살펴보았다. 본 연구결과에 따르면 2012년에 비해 2019년에는 데스크톱 PC 보유량은 줄어들었으나 노트북 PC, 태블릿 PC, 스마트폰의 보유량이 증가하여 전체적으로는 대부분의 가정에서 원격수업 환경이 갖추어진 것으로 볼 수 있다. 그러나 스마트기기에서 스마트폰을 제외할 경우, 가구소득 500만원 미만 가정에서는 자녀수 별로 원격수업에 필요한 기기를 갖추지 못한 비율이 약 30%로 나타나 가구소득에 따라 원격수업 여건이 다름을 보여준다. 본 연구는 가정의 ICTs 환경을 분석하고 소득집단에 따라 보유 기기 유형의 차이가 있음을 확인함으로써 원격수업으로 인한 불평등을 방지하기 위한 개입 지점을 제시한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
