  • In this paper, we propose how to determine the optimal camera position using inverse kinematics of virtual link model and manipulability measure. We model the variable distance and viewing direction between a target object and a camera position as a virtual link. And, by using inverse kinematics of virtual link model, we find out regions that satisfy the direction and distance constraints for the observation of target object. The solution of inverse kinematics of virtual link model simultaneously satisfies camera accessibility as well as a direction and distance constraints. And we use a manipulability measure of active camera system in order to determine an optimal camera position among the multiple solutions of inverse kinematics. By using the inverse kinematics of virtual link model and manipulability measure, the optimal camera position in order to observe a target object can be determined easily and rapidly.

  • This paper describes the method to measure of the vibrational power transmitted from the vibration source to the supporting structure in the horizontal direction. Generally, it is impossible to measure horizontal forces at the coupling points. However. the vibrational Power transmitted in the horizontal direction can be measured by using indirect method that is based on the mechanical impedance and velocities at the coupling points. We proposed the method to estimate the vibrational power when the vibration source and supporting structure cannot be separated. In this paper. the vibrational power transmitted in the horizontal direction is also estimated by using this method. The estimated and measured results of the mobilities at the coupling point and vibrational power in the horizontal direction are compared. It is shown that the estimated results agree well with the measured results. For the supporting structure with multiple coupling points, the other coupling points should be considered for measuring the vibrational power transmitted through one coupling points. We examine the effects of other coupling points and measure the vibrational power without considering the other coupling points.

  • Pixel classification is one of basic image processing issues. The general characteristics of the pixels belonging to various classes are discussed and the radical principles of pixel classification are given. At the same time. a pixel classification scheme based on image direction measure is proposed. As a typical application instance of pixel classification, an adaptive multi-level median filter is presented. An image can be classified into two types of areas by using the direction information measure, that is. smooth area and edge area. Single direction multi-level median filter is used in smooth area. and multi-direction multi-level median filter is taken in the other type of area. What's more. an adaptive mechanism is proposed to adjust the type of the filters and the size of filter window. As a result. we get a better trade-off between preserving details and noise filtering.

  • This study investigated the dimensional plan of Kor Sork temple in Preah Pithu complex, Angkor by civil surveying, 3D scan, measured integer ratio and regularity. According to epitaph and preceding researches, Khmer temples were built based on structural planing with the constant ratio and regularity by using special construct measure scales "Hasta" and "Byama". The study assumed the same unit method was applied in Kor Sork temple and identified the regularity of actual measurement value about the temple. The assumed construct measure scale (Hasta) used for the design of this temple is 413mm. The overall apart arrangement of the temple is different in the East-West direction and the North-South direction. In the East-West direction, the whole scale is 180 hasta, and it is divided into 20 hastas. On the other hands, it was confirmed that the North-South direction is 96 hasta and it was divided four quadrants in 24 hastas. Regarding the detailed design, the regularity according to the constant ratio was confirmed. 7 hasta was used as the basic unit on the first floor and 6 hasta were used as the basic unit on the second floor of the terrace. the basement and the central sanctuary is of 6 hasta and 8 hasta were used as the basic standard.

로봇의 지능형 손을 위한 3축 손가락 힘센서 개발 (Development of 3-axis finger force sensor for an intelligent robot's hand)

  • This paper describes the development of a 3-axis finger force sensor to grasp an unknown object safely in an intelligent robot's hand. In order to safely grasp an unknown object, robot's hand should measure the weight of an object and the force of grasping direction simultaneous. But, in the published papers, the grippers and hands equippd with the force sensor that could only measure the force of grasping direction, and grasped objects using their sensors. These grippers and hands can't safely grasp unknown objects, because they can't measure the weight of it. Thus, it is necessary to develop 3-axis force sensor that can measure the weight of an object and the force of grasping direction for an intelligent gripper. In this paper, 3-axis finger force sensor to grasp an unknown object safely in an intelligent robot's hand was developed. In order to fabricate a 3-axis finger force sensor, the sensing elements were modeled using parallel plate beams, and the theoretical analysis was performed to determine the size of sensing elements, then the 3-axis finger force sensor was fabricated. Also, the characteristic test of the developed 3-axis finger force sensor was performed.

방향척도을 이용한 지문영상 분류에 관한 연구 (A Study on the fingerprint images classification based on the changes of direction fields of fingerprint images)

  • 지문영상 분류는 특징을 이용하여 여러 가지 유형의 지문영상으로 분류하는 것으로, 지문영상 자동인식시스팀에서 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는, 지문영상의 한 점에서의 방향척도를 제안하였다. 이 방향척도는 지문영상의 방향장 영상에서 융선 방향의 변화경로를 상술하는 것으로 지문영상의 각각의 점에 대하여 제안된 방향척도를 계산한다. 제안한 알고리즘을 이용하여 지문영상을 특징점(핵심점과 삼각점)을 정의한 후 유형별로 분류하였다. 또한 개선된 Poincare 지수 알고리즘도 제안하여 핵심점과 삼각점을 구분하였다. 102개의 지문영상 실험 데이터에 대한 분류에러는 7.8%로서 문헌[9]의 분류오차 12.4%보다 좋은 실험결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 제안한 방법은 온라인 지문영상 분류에도 사용가능 할 것으로 생각한다.

3 축 힘센서를 이용한 지능형 그리퍼 개발 (Development of the Intelligent Gripper Using Two 3-axis Force Sensor)

  • This paper describes the development of the intelligent gripper with two 3-axis force sensor that can measure forces Fx, Fy, Fz simultaneously, for stably grasping an unknown object. In order to grasp an unknown object using an intelligent gripper softly, it should measure the force in the gripping direction and the force in the gravity direction, and perform the force control using the measured farces. Thus, the intelligent gripper should be composed of 3-axis force sensor that can measure forces Fx, Fy, Fz at the same time. In this paper, the intelligent gripper with two 3-axis force sensor was manufactured and its characteristic test was carried out. The fabricated gripper could grasp an unknown object stably. Also, the sensing element of 3-axis force sensor was modeled and designed with five parallel-plate beams, and 3-axis force sensor for the intelligent gripper was fabricated. The characteristic test of the made sensor was carried out.

연관성 방향을 고려한 부호 헬링거 측도의 제안 (Signed Hellinger measure for directional association)

  • 데이터 마이닝은 빅 데이터에 내재되어 있는 새로운 법칙이나 잠재되어 있는 지식을 탐색한 후, 이를 근거로 하여 의사결정에 활용하고자 하는 것이다. 위키 백과사전에 의하면 데이터 마이닝 기법 중의 하나인 연관성 규칙은 연관성 평가 기준에 의해 관심 있는 항목들 간에 관련성을 찾아내는 기법으로 많은 연구자들에 의해 연관성 평가를 위한 흥미도 측도들이 개발되어 왔다. 이들 중에서 헬링거 측도는 여러 가지 흥미도 측도들에 비해 많은 장점이 있으나 연관성의 방향을 판단하기가 곤란한 문제를 내포하고 있다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 부호를 가지는 헬링거 측도를 제안하고 몇 가지 예제를 통하여 유용성을 고찰하였다. 그 결과, 본 논문에서 제안하는 부호 헬링거 측도는 양의 연관성을 가지는 경우에는 양의 값으로 나타나고 음의 연관성을 가지는 경우에는 음의 값을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 동시발생빈도, 동시 비 발생빈도, 그리고 불일치 빈도가 증가함에 따라 기본적인 연관성 평가 기준들과 부호 헬링거 측도는 증감 여부가 동일한 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, a double-excitation type single sheet tester is developed to measure the magnetic characteristics of the electrical steel sheets. The developed system has the uniform magnetic field area of 20$\times$20mm$^{2}$, and can be applied to the measurement of the magnetic characteristics of the Non-oriented and Grain oriented electrical steel sheets. In the developed system, the magnetic flux density and magnetic field intensity are measured by using B-coil and H-coil, respectively. The B-coil has 1 turn search coil for each direction, and H-coil has 640 and 640 turns for rolling direction and transverse direction on the Im thickness Glass-Epoxy basement, respectively. Through experiments, it Is shown that the system can measure the magnetic characteristics up to 1.87 of magnetic flux density in the rolling direction in case of the Grain oriented electrical steel sheet. The measured results are compared with those measured in Okayama university, .Japan.
