DFB 반도체 레이저의 직접 주파수변조(DFM) 특성의 전기적 회로모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electric Circuit Model for the Direct FM Characteristics of DFB Semiconductor Lasers)

  • 본 논문에서는 DFB 반도체 레이저의 직접 주파수변조 응답특성에 대한 새로운 전기적 회로모델을 제시하였다. 특히 본 논문에서는 캐리어농도의 변조효과뿐만 아니고 온도변조효과에 따른 DFB 반도체 레이저의 변조특성을 동시에 고려함으로써 DC에서 수 GHz의 변조주파수 범위에 이르는 주파수응답특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 온도변조효과에 의한 주파수응답특성은 레이저 다이오드의 구조로부터 회로모델링하여 기존의 실험치와 비교하였으며, 캐리어농도변조효과에 이한 회로모델링은 DFB 레이저의 율방정식(rate equations)을 선형화함으로써 소신호 회로모델을 구하고 이를 기존의 수치해석에 의해 제시된 결과치와 비교하여 전체적인 주파수응답특성이 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다.

소형 SQUID, 직접 되먹임 방식 전자회로, 고온초전도 SQUID 주사현미경의 개량 (Development of Small-sized SQUID and Direct-coupled Electronics for High-$T_c$ Scanning SQUID Microscope)

  • The spatial resolution of $high-T_{c}$ scanning SQUID microscope is limited by the washer size of SQUID and the gap distance between SQUID sensor and the sample. In this work, we tried to improve the spatial resolution of scanning SQUID microscope by reducing the size of SQUID sensor fabricated with $YBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{7}$ thin film. Outer dimensions of the SQUiDs we tested are 24 $\mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ $ 28\mu\textrm{m}$, $12 \mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ $16\mu\textrm{m}$, $12\mu\textrm{m}$ x $12\mu\textrm{m}$, $10 \mu\textrm{m}$ $\times$ $10 \mu\textrm{m}$ each. To operate them in the flux-locked loop scheme, we used a direct-coupled electronics instead of using conventional electronics involving a modulation scheme. Since the direct-coupled feedback scheme does not require modulation current adjustment that poses as a practical difficulty in the SQUID operation in modulation-scheme, the direct feedback operation is rather simpler than the conventional modulation method. The resulting noise features were dominated by the noise of preamp in FLL electronics except that of the largest SQUID. The noise levels of SQUIDs are expected below 1$\times$$10^{-5}$ $\Phi_{0}$H $z^{1}$2/ (at 300 Hz), that is a typical noise level for SQUID made of $YBa_2$C $u_3$$O_{7}$ thin film. The data acquisition and motion-controlling parts were also improved, resulting in faster data acquisition rate and less vibration of the system.m.

계층간 교차 개념을 적용한 광 부호분할 다중접속 시스템의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Optical CDMA System with Cross-Layer Concept)

  • 본 논문에서는 계층간 교차 (Cross-Layer) 개념을 적용하여 터보 (Turbo) 부호화된 광 (Optical) 부호분할 다중접속 (CDMA : Code Division Multiple Access) 시스템의 네트워크 성능을 분석하고 실험하였다. 계층간 교차 개념은 물리 (Physical) 계층과 매체접근제어 (MAC : Medium Access Control) 계층을 고려하였다. 시스템은 펄스위치변조 (PPM : Pulse Position Modulation)를 적용한 강도변조/직접검파 (IM/DD : Intensity Modulation/Direct Detection) 방식의 광 시스템을 고려하였다. 그리고 시스템의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 병렬 연접된 길쌈부호 (PCCC : Parallel Concatenated Convolutional Code)로 이루어진 터보 부호를 사용하였다. 네트워크의 성능은 비트오류확률 (BEP : Bit Error Probabiliy) 측면에서 분석되었다. 모의실험 결과, 터보 부호는 적당한 부호화 및 복호화 복잡도에서 상당한 부호화 이득을 제공하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 일정한 부호화율 (Code Rate)에서 인터리버 길이와 복호과정에서의 반복 복호 횟수를 증가시킬수록 시스템 성능이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

  • This work forcus on the development of gas sensor that measure the concentrations of exhaust gas using diode laser. Each diode laser for exhaust gas measurement is set to work at near-IR using both DA and WMS methods. Also use of fiber-coupled optical elements makes such a sensor rugged and easy to align. On-line data acquisition and processing can be performed with a PC running LabVIEW software, and absorption signals are measured simultaneously by multiplexing method. Finally, It were experimentally compared WMS (Wavelength Modulation Spectroscopy) with DA (Direct Absorption) for the accuracy.

On the Performance of Incremental Opportunistic Relaying with Differential Modulation over Rayleigh Fading Channels

  • We propose an incremental relaying protocol in conjunction with opportunistic communication for differential modulation with an aim to make efficient use of the degrees of freedom of the channels by exploiting a imited feedback signal from the destination. In particular, whenever the direct link from the source to the destination is not favorable to decoding, the destination will request the help from the opportunistic relay (if any). The performance of the proposed system is derived in terms of average bit error probability and achievable spectral efficiency. The analytic results show that the system assisted by the opportunistic relaying can achieve full diversity at low SNR regime and exhibits a 30㏈ gain relative to direct transmission, assuming single-antenna terminals. We also determine the effect of power allocation on the bit error probability BEP) performance of our relaying scheme. We conclude with a discussion on the relationship between the given thresholds and channel resource savings. Monte-Carlo simulations are performed to verify the analysis.

정 진폭 다중 보호 이진 직교 변조 (Constant-Amplitude Biorthogonal Multi-Code Modulation)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 부호 신호 (MC: multi-code signal)를 정 진폭으로 전송하는 정 진폭 이진 직교 다중 부호 변조 방식 (CABM: constant-amplitude biorthogonal multi-code modulation)을 제안한다. 정 진폭을 유지하기 위해 제안된 CABM 방식에서는 잉여 비트를 사용하여 신호를 부호화 하였다. 제안된 CABM 변조 방식은 매우 높은 스펙트럼 효율을 지원할 수 있다. 또한 본 논문에서는 제안된 CABM 신호를 복조하기 위한 다양한 복조 방식들을 제시하고 기존의 정 진폭 직교 변조 방식 (CAOM: Constant-amplitude orthogonal multi-code modulation)과 그 성능을 비교한다. 제안된 CABM 변/복조 방식은 고속 데이터 율을 제공해야 하는 디지털 무선 통신 시스템으로 사용될 수 있다.

  • Recent advances in room-temperature, visible and near-IR diode laser sources for telecommunication, optical data storage applications are enabling combustion diagnostics system based on diode laser absorption spectroscopy. In contrast to some traditional sampling-based gas-sensing instruments, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy system is advantageous because of their non-invasive nature, high sensitivity, fast response time and real-time measurement capability. So, combined with fiber-optics and high sensitive detection strategies, compact and portable sensor system arc now appearing for a variety of applications. The objective of this research is to take advantage of distributed feed-back diode laser and measure the $CO_{2}$ concentration (by using direct absorption and wavelength modulation spectroscopy methods). In addition to survey spectra of $CO_{2}$ bands and spectroscopic parameters between 1565 and 1579 run were computed at temperatures between 296 and 1200 K (by using HITRAN 2000 database). It experimentally found out that the features of direct absorption and wavelength modulation spectroscopy methods.

450 Gbps Low-cost Intensity Modulation with Direct Detection (IM/DD) Wave Length Division Multiplexing (WDM-PON) for 5G Fronthaul

  • This work designs an eighteen-channel bidirectional Intensity Modulation with Direct Detection (IM/DD) Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON) system. The proposed system meets the requirement of the ITU-T 5G fronthaul link suggested design in G-series Recommendations-Supplement 66. The newly designed system, with a 25Gb/s/λ data rate (450Gbps as a system capacity), has been tested and simulated using OptiSystem V.19 software. The system has been evaluated by the BER with respect to variable the optical span and CW laser power. Based on the ITU-T recommendations, the simulation results demonstrate that this system might be used as an F1 and as an Fx 5G fronthaul link for functional split choices starting from options 1 to 7a. These options are required under 25Gbps/λ for each upstream and downstream link direction. Furthermore, the proposed system utilized a bidirectional single-mode optical fiber within short optical spans of up to 10 km. The proposed system is characterized by a low-cost, simple, DSP-free and amplifier-free system with a reasonable system capacity.

다중 모드를 사용하는 OFDM-CDIM 시스템 설계와 성능 평가 (Design and Performance Evaluation of OFDM-CDIM System Using Multiple Modes)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템보다 높은 성능과 스펙트럼 효율를 달성할 수 있는 OFDM-CDIM(Coded Direct Index Modulation) 시스템을 제안한다. 기존 OFDM-IM(Index Modulation) 및 DM(Dual Mode)-OFDM-IM 시스템은 높은 복잡도를 갖는 조합연산을 통해 각 부반송파의 인덱스에 추가적인 데이터를 할당하여 전송한다. 그러나 제안하는 시스템은 모드를 선택하는 정보를 각 부반송파에 추가 연산 없이 직접 할당하고, 선택된 모드 내에서 하나의 심볼을 선택하여 전송한다. 더욱이 부반송파의 인덱스에 할당되는 데이터에만 부호화를 수행하여 높은 부호율과 함께 우수한 성능 개선 효과를 얻는다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 4개를 모드를 사용하는 4M(Four Modes)-OFDM-CDIM 시스템은 기존 4QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation)을 사용하는 OFDM 시스템과 비교하여 AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise)과 Rayleigh 페이딩 환경에서 BER(Bit Error Rate) 성능과 전송 효율을 향상시킬 수 있음을 정량적으로 확인할 수 있다.

  • The paper describes developed method of feedforward digital modulation of line-to-line voltage of 3-phase inverter for drive application. It is based on representation of parameters of output voltage of inverter in function of operating frequency of drive system. Pure algebraic control laws and big computational simplicity characterize this scheme of modulation. It has been presented results of simulation of adjustable drive systems with the method of pulse-width modulation described.
