Economic Value Analysis of Supercomputing Service for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (중소기업 슈퍼컴퓨팅 서비스의 경제적 가치 분석)

  • The SMB supercomputing service provides a supercomputing infrastructure for Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) to enhance the efficiency of product development activity. In this study, the economic value of SMB supercomputing service is presented. The economic value of service is comprised of a direct and an indirect economic value. A direct economic value was estimated based on the result of user survey on service effectiveness. The input-output analysis method was adopted to estimate an indirect economic value induced from a direct economic value. The future economic value based on the result of user demand survey is also presented. As a result, the annual and future economic value of service were estimated about 55,215 million won and 323,928 million won, respectively.

Spinal cord abscess in pork carcasses

  • This is a case report of spinal cord abscess in pork carcasses. We have detected 7 cases with spinal cord abscesses in abattoir from January to October 2008. It may occur from either direct extension or hematogenos infection. Four cases were presumed by hematogenous infection because of no external wound, and 3 may be caused by direct extension. The infection is a result of external wound in 3 pigs and is a result of hematogenous spread in 4 pigs. The incidence rate of spinal cord abscess in sows is higher than that in pigs.

The Effect of Service Quality on Service Value, Customer Satisfaction and Reuse Intention in the China Hospital Industry (중국 병원산업에서 서비스품질이 서비스가치, 고객만족 및 재이용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine service quality elements in China Bank Industry and influence on service value, customer satisfaction and reuse intention. This study is composed one parallel comparison of documentary and evidential researches. To verify research model, the survey about medical institution and hospital services were conducted in Daqing of Heilongjiang Province, in China. Collected data was analyzed and the results are introduced in this paper. The findings ar as followed. This study has modified three-dimensional model of service quality: "interaction quality", "outcome quality" and "physical environment quality". Research was focused on investigating the direct effect of every service quality dimension on customer satisfaction. But "outcome quality "has only direct effect on service value, "interaction quality" and "physical environment quality" have not direct effect on service value in this study. Service value has direct effect on customer satisfaction and reuse intention. And customer satisfaction was the significant mediating role in the relationship of the service value and reuse intention.

  • The main purpose of this study intends to study the theoretical interconnection between human response capability and customer relationship management advantage while considering the essential role of service application of information technology as direct, indirect (mediating), and interactive (moderating) influences in the theory. Based on the study sample, the new findings help comprehend the overall interconnected relationship which includes the direct and indirect (mediating) effects of information technology service capability and human response capability as well as their interaction (moderation) on customer relationship management advantage. The new insights interprets the two capabilities (human and information technology) are vital to business because they are the foundation set of service resources significantly to enhance customer relationship management advantage.

Causal Relationships among Quality, Service Value, Satisfaction and Loyalty (의료서비스 품질, 서비스 가치, 고객만족 및 고객충성도 간의 인과관계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the causal relationships among quality of health care service, service value, satisfaction and loyalty as perceived by hospital inpatients. Methods: A survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted with 654 hospital inpatients. Analysis of the data was done with both SPSS Win 17.0 for descriptive statistics and AMOS 18.0 for the structural equation model. Results: The modified model yielded Chi-square=7.96 (p=.019), df=2, $x^2$/df=3.98, GFI=.99, AGFI=.96, RMSEA=.07, NFI=.99, CFI=.99, TLI=.98 and showed good fit indices. Three dimensions of quality had significant direct effects on service value. Functional quality, technical quality and service value had significant direct effects on customer satisfaction. Technical quality, service value, and customer satisfaction had significant direct effects on customer loyalty. Conclusion: These results suggest that quality of health care is an important element in service value, and through both quality and service value, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty can be enhanced. Further study with a larger sample from various hospitals and a longitudinal design is necessary.

Application study of PCR additives to improve the split peaks in direct PCR

  • Analysis techniques using DNA profiling are widely used in various fields including forensic science and new technologies such as the Direct PCR amplification method are being developed continuously in order to acquire the DNA profiles efficiently. However, it has a limits such as non-specific amplification according to the quality of crime scene evidence samples. Especially, split peaks caused by excessive DNA samples are one of the important factors that could cause the debate to allow researchers to interpret the DNA profile results. In this study, we confirmed the occurrence rate of split peaks in each STR (short tandem repeats) locus of the $GlobalFiler^{TM}$ kit and investigated the possibility of improving the split peaks using several PCR additives such as DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide), $MgCl_2$, Betaine and Tween-20. As a result, we could make three groups according to the occurrence rate of split peaks in Direct PCR and it was confirmed that the ratio of split peaks could be reduced by DMSO (87.4 %), $MgCl_2$ (84.5 %) and Betaine (86.1 %), respectively. These results indicate that PCR additives such as DMSO, $MgCl_2$ and Betaine can be improve the split peaks in Direct PCR and thereby facilitate subsequently a successful DNA profile results.

  • In recent years there has been much emphasis on the need for service firms to develop an organizational culture which facilitates the successful implementation of marketing activities. This study examines the relationship among marketing culture, service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty in fast food service firms. The results of empirical analysis can be summarized by the following: First, marketing culture(employee service quality, interpersonal relationships, selling task, organization, internal communications, innovativeness) had a significant direct effect on service quality. Second, marketing culture(employee service quality, selling task, internal communications) had a significant direct effect on customer satisfaction. It had also a positive, significant indirect effect on customer satisfaction through service quality. Third, service quality had a significant indirect effect on customer loyalty through customer satisfaction. Therefore, the results of the study provide the practical implication for establishment of service firms' marketing strategies, related to marketing culture.

Customer Retention Model in the Medical Service Organization: Focusing on Specialized Hospital Services

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the theoretical basis for assessing the strategic increase in customer perception of service quality, justice, and relationship benefits. Especially in terms of increasing relationship commitment and customer loyalty in the medical service sector. Research design: Data were collected by questionnaires through specialized hospital services. Survey was conducted on patients who have been treated at a spine specialized hospital. Results: Research shows that service quality, justice, and relationship benefits have the greatest direct impact on relationship commitment, and relationship commitment has a strong direct impact on customer loyalty in the medical service organization. Conclusions: The effect of combination of core and voluntary service behavioral attributes such as service quality, justice and relationship benefits have the most positve impact on relationship commitment and customer loyalty. Administratively, this study contributes to understanding the role of service quality, justice, and relationship benefits in the medical service sector. The results showed that in order to induce service quality, justice and relationship benefits should be facilitated relationship commitment and customer loyalty enlarged.

Urban Housewives제 Value Orientation, Sense of Ancestrial Service and Behavior (도시주부의 가치지향성.제례의식.제례수행)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship of housewives’sense of ancestral service and behavior and to verify the how housewives’value orientation affects the sense of ancestral service and behavior. The data are collected from 393 housewives in urban. The statistics used for the analysis are Cronbach’$\alpha$, Frequency, Percentage, Mean, SD, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results are summarized below: First, among the variables, degree of fate-control orientation is the most, on the contrary, material orientation is the lowest. Second, value orientation variables that affect sense and behavior of ancestral service are material orientation and gender equilibrium orientation. Third, the behavior of ancestral service is more traditional than sense of ancestral service. Fourth, cause-and-effect variable which affect behavior of ancestral service are education level, religion(Buddhism, Catholicism), employment status, number of children, health, daughter in -law’s ranking, sense of ancestral service, and value orientation, which affect the direct or direct and indirectly. Especially sense of ancestral service variable is the most important mediation one. We expect further studies on the sense of ancestral service and behavior with precise scale and sampling.

Investing Abroad, Transforming at Home: An Empirical Study of Outward Foreign Direct Investment and Korean Manufacturing's Servicification

  • This paper empirically examines the relationship between outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) of Korean manufacturing firms and the servicification of domestic employment using a firm-level panel data. In this study, considering the issue of low productivity in the Korean service sector, we categorize service employment into core and non-core services and investigate their relationship with OFDI using the firm-fixed effects model. The empirical results show that the share of core service employment exhibits a positive correlation with the extensive OFDI. On the other hand, the share of non-core service employment, which is expected to generate relatively low value-added, does not show a significant relationship with the extensive OFDI. When we divide the samples based on host countries and the type of subsidiaries, the impact on servicification varies depending on the technological capabilities of host countries and their participation in global value chains. Our study suggests that Korean manufacturing firm's internationalization strategies may facilitate a transition from labor-intensive employment, like the cases in advanced countries, to technology-intensive employment through OFDI and other means.
