This article proposes a design of chipless RFID tag with dipole array structure that is fully printable using conductive ink. The proposed tags encode data based on spectral signature modulations. The reading range is considerably increased (2 m) while maintaining low transmission power (1 mW). Several prototype chipless RFID tags were fabricated and measured in the SHF and UHF bands. The proposed dipole array structure enhances the antenna gain of the passive tags and contributes to overcoming the low conductivity of conductive ink. In order to verify the utility of our proposal, the tags are manufactured on paper, using conductive ink, for the purpose of economic mass production.

A short-ended electromagnetically coupled coaxial dipole array antenna is investigated theoretically. The antenna has an advantage of structural simplicity. The integral equations are derived for the proposed structure by use of the Fourier transform and mode expansion, and the simultaneous linear equations are obtained. The slot electric field and strip current are obtained by solving the simultaneous linear equations. The effects of slot and strip numbers on the radiation efficiency, beamwidth and directivity gain of the antenna are presented.
In this paper, a broadband double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna using a 4×2 meander line array structure for maintaining 8 dBi gain was studied. The 4×2 meanderline array structure consists of a unit cell in the shape of a meanderline conductor, and it was placed above the second dipole antenna of the double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna. A double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna with generally used multiple strip directors was designed on an FR4 substrate with the same size, and the input reflection coefficient and gain characteristics were compared. Comparison results showed that the impedance frequency bandwidth increased by 6.3% compared to when using the multiple strip directors, the frequency bandwidth with a gain of 8 dBi or more increased by 10.1%, and average gain also slightly increased. The frequency band of the fabricated antenna for a voltage standing wave ratio less than 2 was 1.548-2.846 GHz(59.1%), and gain was measured to be more than 8 dBi in the 1.6-2.8 GHz band.

In this paper, a multi-layered metallic disk array structure(MDAS) excited by cross-dipole elements was proposed for efficiently shaping of flat-topped element patterns(FTEP) with circular polarization. The MDAS excited by cross-dipole elements has advantages to decrease in volume and weight of an overall array antenna and so, it is appropriate for the FTEP applications of a ralativlely low frequency band. In order to verify the effectness of this structure, the MDAS breadboard operated at X-band(7.9 ∼ 8.4 GHz) was fabricated, and its design parameters were experimentally optimized on the basis of the previous design experience. The experimental results were shown that the MDAS could shape good FTEPs of ${\pm}$20$^{\circ}$beam width at least within a 6.1 % frequency band.
In this paper, gain enhancement of a double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna using a meanderline array structure was studied. A 4×1 meanderline array structure consisting of a meanderline conductor- shaped unit cell is located above the second dipole of the double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna. It was designed to have gain over 7 dBi in the frequency range between 1.70 and 2.70 GHz in order to compare the performance with the case using a conventional strip director. As a result of comparison, the average gain of the double dipole quasi-yagi antenna with the proposed meander line array structure was larger compared to the case with the conventional strip director. A double dipole quasi-Yagi antenna using the proposed meanderline array structure was fabricated on an FR4 substrate and its characteristics were compared with the simulation results. Experiment results show that the frequency band for a VSWR less than 2 was 1.55-2.82 GHz, and the frequency band for gain over 7 dBi was measured to be 1.54-2.83 GHz. The frequency bandwidth with gain over 7 dBi increased, and average gain also slightly increased, compared to the conventional case using a strip director.

In this paper, we proposed the miniaturized structure of the Log-Periodic Dipole Array(LPDA) antenna for PS-LTE(Pubic Safety-Long Term Evolution) service. The length of array dipole was shortened by adding a fractal tree element with iteration to the array dipole to miniaturize the LPDA antenna. As the result, the proposed LPDA antenna was reduced up to 25 %, compared a typical LPDA antenna. To validation of the proposed LPDA antenna specification, the proposed LPDA antenna is fabricated using aluminum with 1.5 mm thickness and performances are measured. Comparison between simulation result and experiment shows good agreement.

In this paper, the Magneto-Electric(ME) dipole array antenna with dual-polarization in the X-Band is proposed and it is implemented and measured. The proposed array antenna is composed of 32 single ME dipole antenna and a Teflon PCB. 1 × 1 ME dipole antenna is implemented dual-polarization by radiating vertical polarization and horizontal polarization from two pairs of radiators. 2-port feeding structures are realized by lamination process using LTCC. And, each port independently feeds the radiator through a Γ-shaped feeding strip with isolation between ports. The Teflon PCB used in the antenna array has a 4-layer structure, and 2-port is fed through the top and bottom layers. The λg/4 transformer is applied to the transmission line of the Teflon PCB for impedance matching of the arrayed antenna and the Teflon PCB, and the optimal parameters are obtained through simulation. The measured maximum antenna gains of port 1 was 18.2 dBi, Cross-pol was 1.0 dBi. And the measured maximum antenna gains of port 1 was 18.1 dBi, Cross-pol was 3.2 dBi.
The validity and efficiency of the roll-along technique widely used in 2-D electrical resistivity survey are analyzed in case of the dipole-dipole and the Wenner-Schlumberger arrays by numerical modelling. The shallow anomalous resistivity bodies are successfully inverted both in the dipole-dipole and in the Wenner-Schlumberger arrays because the shallow data of pseudosection are not omitted by the roll-along technique. However, the deep anomalous resistivity bodies can not be well resolved due
to the skip of observed data which is more significant in the Wenner-Schlumberger array having relatively poor horizontal coverage of obtaining data. Carrying out electrical survey adopting the dipole-dipole array, the skip of data is insignificant because it is unfeasible to expand the electrodes to the maximum electrode separation coefficient($n_max$) owing to low S/N ratio. In case of the Wenner-Schlumberger
array, however, because it is generally feasible to expand the electrodes $n_max$ to the owing to high S/N ratio, it is highly possible that skip of data from the roll-along technique causes significant distortion of inversion results. Therefore, adopting the Wenner-Schlumberger array having deeper median
depth(Edwards, 1977) than do the dipole-dipole array on condition of the same unit electrode spacing( ($a$) ) and $n_max$, it is recommended to determine $a$ based on not $n_max$but $n_prob$free from the skip of observing data and forward electrodes with keeping overlap interval 3/4 of the survey line length in order to reduce the distortion of resistivity structure and perform resistivity survey efficiently. These results are confirmed by numerical modelling.

This paper describes design for dual-linear polarization antenna using EMC(electromagnetic-coupled) dipole. EMC dipole has a simple element structure and it is fed by microstrip line. Vortical and horizontal polarization are determined by structure of dipole fed by microstrip line. FDTD Method is used for an analysis of antenna element. Length, width, height and offset of dipole are designed for 1-element antenna. Resonant length of diploe differs from the calculated value by a formula because of coupling effect of dipole and feed line. Radiation Power is controlled by the offset of dipole. In prectical fabrication of antenna array, a constant height of dipoles is required. Therefore, the teflon plate with height of 0.8 mm is considered in antenna element design for the vertical polarization.

The compact dipole antenna elements and array structure is proposed. The array structure is designed for applicator in regional hyperthermia treatment to enhance the uniformity of the heat distribution which makes the treatment effective and prevents overheating. The compact dipole is designed with branched dipole and matching network to have small size and symmetric shape. The temperature simulation with specific absorption rate(SAR) and bio-heat equation is performed to have heat distribution. The applicator is designed, fabricated, and measured with multi-channel thermometer in 30 and 60 minutes. The simulation and measurement results showed agreement and the simulation in body circumstance has proper temperature result for hyperthermia therapy.
