This paper presents a experimental study of two-phase flow boiling of FC-72 in multi channels. Flow boiling heat transfer coefficients are obtained with mass flux ranging from 152.9 to $353.9kg/m^2s$ and heat flux from 5.6 to $46.1kW/m^2$. The experimental results show that the heat transfer is governed by nucleate boiling mechanism in the low heat flux region. However, it is found that the effects of nucleate boiling and forced convection boiling are combined as the heat flux increases. A new correlation to predict the heat transfer coefficient is developed by using the dimensionless number such as Reynolds number, Weber number, boiling number. This correlation shows good predictive accuracy against the measured data.
This study presents the new idea of liquid desiccant system with extended surface to reduce the system size. The extended surface is inserted between vertical cooling/heating tubes to increase the mass transfer area, and the liquid desiccant flows through the tube wall and the extended surface. Mathematical models for heat and mass transfer between liquid desiccant and air stream at tube wall and extended surface are provided. Dimensionless design parameters governing heat and mass transfer phenomena around the tube and the extended surface are identifier, and dimensionless operating parameters depicting system operating condition including flow rate ratio between dehumidification/regeneration processes, and mass flow rate ratio between air stream and liquid desiccant are explained. The effects of the parameters on system performance are summarized.

The purpose of this paper is to propose basic data on convection heat-transfer coefficients in Ondol-heated room. Surface temperatures and several temperatures around each inside surface of wall, floor and ceiling composed of heating room are measured vertically in Ondol-heated model rooms, and the vertical temperature profiles could be expressed by nonlinear equation models. Also, the convection heat transfer phenomena are analysed from the nonlinear equation models. In the results, the convection heat-transfer coefficients of Ondol heated space are suggested by the term of temperature difference between each wall surface and room air temperature and by the relationship between Nusselt number and Rayleigh number of dimensionless numbers.
The heat transfer characteristics of confined turbulent slot jet impingement on the flat plate with square rods(turbulence promoter) have been experimentally investigated at different nozzle configuration. The effects of jet Reynolds number (Re=3900, 5800, 7800, 9700), dimensionless slot-to-plate distance(H/B=4, 6, 8) and clearance(c) between square rods and the plate were examined. Measurement of heat transfer rate were conducted using naphthalene sublimation technique. When square rods were inserted over the heat transfer surface, heat transfer rate was slightly increased in the wall jet region and the sharp-edged orifice nozzle was heigher than squared orifice nozzle.

Condensation heat transfer experiments for R-22 and R-407C refrigerants mixed with mineral oil and POE oil respectively were performed in straight and U-bend sections of a microfin tube. Experimental parameters were an oil concentration from 0 to 5%, a mass flux from 100 to $400 kg/m^2s$ and an inlet quality from 0.5 to 0.9. The enhancement factors for R-22 and R-407C refrigerants at the first straight section decreased continuously as the oil concentration increased. They decreased rapidly as the mass flux decreased and inlet quality increased. The heat transfer coefficients in the U-bend were the maximum at the $90^{\circ}$ position. The heat transfer coefficients at the second straight section within the dimensionless length of 48 were larger by a maximum of 33% than the average heat transfer coefficients at the first straight section.
The characteristics of heat transfer and pressure drop in an offset strip fin heat exchanger was studied with a steady-state three dimensional numerical model. Flow Reynolds number $Re_{dh}$ ranged from 10 to 3500 and Prandtl number Pr ranged from 0.7 to 50. The dimensionless performance factors, i.e. 'the pumping power factor F' and 'the heat transfer performance factor J' were analyzed and obtained a relationship between them. Finally, the prediction of F and J factors was generalized for different Prandtl numbers.
In this study, the relations of the wall thermal conductivity and surface temperature in a compartment fire are investigated using Buckingham Pi theorem. The dimensionless parameters of the previous study are analyzed in order to correlate the dimensionless groups of the heat release rate, the thermal conductivity, the volume of compartment and the convective heat transfer coefficient. In addition the reduced scale of compartment, which has 1/6 size of ISO 9705 Room Corner Tester, is manufactured and the oxygen concentration and the maximum temperature in the space are measured for the gasoline pool fire ($10cm{\times}10cm$, $15cm{\times}15cm$ and $20cm{\times}20cm$). Finally, the criterion of the wall temperature increase are suggested in accordance with the thermal conductivity and the convective heat transfer coefficient. In addition, the dimensionless empirical equation using Buckingham Pi theorem considering the heat release rate are presented suggested. The results of this study will be useful especially for the fire phenomenon investigation of the wall thermal conductivity coefficient and shape in the compartment space.
Since metallic foam will increase the performance of heat exchanger, it have caused many researcher's attention recently. Our research base on the model that metallic foams applied to heat exchanger. In this case, there is three kind of heat transfer mechanisms, heat conduction in fibers, heat transfer by conduction in fluid phase, and internal heat change between solid and fluid phases. In this paper, we first discuss the acceptance of applying thermal equilibrium among the two phases. then to calculate the dimensionless temperature profile along 7 metallic foams. The 7 samples have different characteristics, such as area ratio, effective conductivity, porosity, etc.
Recently, Electronic & Electrical Products have problems how to reduce heat in trend reducing size and increasing speed. heat pipes worked by latent heats can solve problems for effective and quiet electronic applications. Heat Pipes have to be suitably designed for the external conditions due to showing optimum performance. it has influence on efficiency of heat pipes to the exterior structure changed by length, bending angle, diameter. Designing heat pipes has depended on experience from trial and error. this method wasted too many resources, but can't guarantee efficiency. to prevent those wastes, this study aims at making the thermal transfer coefficient predicting efficiency. In this study, the thermal transfer coefficient has been made from experimental results that used variables - lengths between heat source and radiation, bending angles, diameters of heat pipes. variables become non-dimensional in modeling process for making the coefficient.
