  • Depression is a common disorder among the elderly, significantly affecting their quality of life. Traditional dance interventions, although beneficial, have limitations in convenience, personalization, and retention. With the advent of digital technology, digital dance interventions have emerged as a potential solution to these limitations. This paper involves an extensive review of literature on digital dance interventions. Research databases were searched for studies that focus on the use of digital dance in treating depression among older adults. The review also includes analyses of the advancements in digital dance technology, its application in therapeutic settings, and the evaluation of its efficacy. The paper identifies three main challenges in the current digital dance intervention research: real-time dynamic assessment, multimodal dance generation, and improving compliance. Despite these challenges, digital dance interventions show promise in addressing the limitations of traditional dance therapy. The research suggests that the integration of human-computer interaction and personalized approaches in digital dance interventions could significantly improve outcomes in elderly patients with depression. Digital dance interventions represent a novel and promising approach to treating depression in older adults. Future research should focus on overcoming the identified challenges and enhancing the effectiveness of these interventions.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate digital interventions on psychological well-being in patients with cancer through an integrated review. Methods: Fifteen studies were selected using PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, DBpia, and RISS. The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network was used by two reviewers to evaluate independently the quality of the selected articles. Results: Digital interventions for improving psychological well-being in cancer patients were most often based on cognitive behavioral therapy alone or a combination of interventions with professionals and other patients. In addition, a number of interventions were established on internet-based mindfulness therapy. Conclusions: Providing cognitive behavioral intervention alone did not significantly improve the level of depression or anxiety of patients with cancer. Meanwhile, interventions, including cognitive behavior therapy and interactions with professionals and other patients, were found to reduce significantly the level of depression or anxiety in the experimental group.

  • As new technologies change a society, librarians need to understand and adapt to technology innovations. However, most innovations that librarians are supposed to adopt are government-driven or top-down changes; and there have been very few studies conducted to identify any patterns or consistencies in librarians' perceptions of innovation. This paper, therefore, has two research purposes. First, it introduces the Concern Based Adoption Model (CBAM) as one method to gain a deeper understanding of how librarians see such changes. Second, this study identifies school librarians' concerns regarding digital textbooks in South Korea applying the CBAM theory. The test signifies that school librarians present a typical non-user profile, and the pattern anticipates a potential resistance to digital textbooks. Also, it discovers the less experienced and innovator librarians had higher concerns across every stage. The findings underscore a need of various interventions. The CBAM theory suggests, in terms of intense Stage 0 and 1, it is required for school librarians to have events to gain information about digital textbook implementation. Regarding targeted interventions, since the biggest gaps occurs in Stage 4, Consequence and Stage 5, Collaboration, according to school librarians' experience and adoption style, new school librarians need stronger engagement with the community, which including associations, mentors or peer support, and collaborating with public libraries; innovator school librarians require opportunities to test and present their use of digital textbooks (Hall and Hord 1987).

  • Purpose : This study was conducted to compare two non-face-to-face exercise interventions depending on whether mobile applications and wearable exercise aids are used to find out which interventions are more effective in improving senile sarcopenia. Ultimately, it was conducted to provide basic data for developing non-face-to-face intervention methods to improve sarcopenia. Method : In this study, 18 elderly sarcopenia and possible sarcopenia aged 65 or older were randomly assigned to the digital and self-exercise intervention groups. The digital exercise intervention group performed eight exercise programs with mobile applications and wearable exercise aids to record and manage the elderly performing the programs in real time. And the self-exercise intervention group performed the same program on its own as implemented in the digital exercise group. The intervention was applied for 8 weeks, and before and after the intervention, sarcopenia evaluation and physical function evaluation were performed. Results : In the digital exercise intervention group, arm muscle mass, skeletal muscle index, SPPB, 5TSTS, and BBS were improved, and in the self-exercise intervention group, grip strength, SPPB, 5TSTS, and BBS were improved. Conclusion : It was confirmed that both groups are effective in improving physical performance and physical function, the digital exercise intervention is effective in improving muscle mass and self-exercise intervention is effective in improving muscle strength. Therefore, this study proposes to apply intervention methods separately according to the indicators to improve and prevent sarcopenia, and also simplify the instructions of applications used to improve sarcopenia and to create an environment where users can be trained regularly on how to use it. And, In the future, studies for the development of devices to be designed to help non-face-to-face exercise interventions or studies on the differences between face-to-face and non-face-to-face exercise interventions should be conducted in terms of the effect of improving sarcopenia.

  • Purpose : This study investigates the effectiveness of digital therapy for stroke patients in Korea. Methods : A comprehensive database search was performed using KCI, Science on, e-article, RISS, KISS and Korea OpenMed databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that studied the effects of digital therapy on patients who had a stroke. This study includes RCTs published from January 2000 to July 15, 2022, which fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total 697 studies were screened and 30 studies were included in the final analysis. Methodological quality was assessed with the Cochrane's RoB (risk of bias) tool. Meta-analysis was performed using CMA 4.0 software. Results : A total of 56 effect sizes were calculated from the 30 selected studies. As a result of the analysis, the overall effect size of digital therapy was .59 (95 % CI=.43-.74). When classified according to type of intervention, VR (virtual reality) (g=.58, 95 % CI=.40-.75), and CACR (computer assisted cognitive rehabilitation) (g=.62, 95 % CI=.30-.95) were statistically significant. VR showed medium to large effect sizes in cognitive function (g=.78, 95 % CI=.20-1.37), psychosocial function (g=.63, 95 % CI=.20-1.07), and physical function (g=.61, 95 % CI=.38-.83). In the CACR, there was a large effect size in cognitive function (g=.84, 95 % CI=.52-1.15), but there was no significant difference in psychosocial function. Also, there was no significant difference between the two interventions in activities of daily living and no significant difference in the effect size of both interventions according to the intervention session. Furthermore, medium to large effect sizes were found for subacute and chronic stroke patients according to the duration of disease. Conclusion : This study presents evidence that digital therapy has a positive effect on various functions of stroke patients in Korea. The researchers expect to actively accept the new paradigm of digital therapy and continue to apply digital therapy in clinical practice.

  • Objectives: To investigate current status of randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT) registration for suicide attempters. Methods: The World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (WHO-ICTRP) was used to search for data using 'suicide' as a search term. All registration information of RCTs registered up to April 2023 were collected. Results: Among a total of 68 RCTs registered, the United States ranked the highest in terms of quantity in this field (n=30, 46.15%), whereas Asia had only six (8.82%). A total of 62 (91.18%) RCTs involved individual interventions, while nine (13.24%) RCTs involved group interventions. Among individual interventions, 11 (16.18%) and 54 (79.41%) RCTs were on pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, respectively. Within psychotherapy, there were a total of 17 (25%) studies utilizing digital media, with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) via phone being the most common approach. Among non-digital media-based studies, CBT was used the most frequently (n=11, 16.18%), followed by attempted suicide short intervention program (n=6, 8.82%). There were no studies using interventions from East Asian traditional medicine, including Korean medicine (KM). The most frequently used main outcome was the Beck scale for suicidal ideation. Conclusions: Studies on suicide attempts in Asia, especially in South Korea, are very scarce. Despite vigorous psychotherapeutic research in this field, KM psychotherapy has not been used. Thus, KM clinical trial for suicide attempters might be planned in the future based on our findings.
