We describe a vision of historical analysis at the world scale, through the digital assembly of historical sources into a cloud-based database, where machine-learning techniques can be used to summarize the database into a time-integrated actor-to-actor complex network. Using this time-integrated network as a template, we then apply the method of automatic narratives to discover key actors ('who'), key events ('what'), key periods ('when'), key locations ('where'), key motives ('why'), and key actions ('how') that can be presented as hypotheses to world historians. We show two test cases on how this method works. To accelerate the pace of knowledge discovery and verification, we describe how historians would interact with these automatic narratives through an online, map-based knowledge aggregator that learns how scholars filter information, and eventually takes over this function to free historians from the more important tasks of verification, and stitching together coherent storylines. Ultimately, multiple coherent storylines that are not necessary compatible with each other can be discovered through human-computer interactions by the map-based knowledge aggregator.

Internet Service Subscribers Network has a new role of providing the various multimedia services to the home. However, there exist several types of distributed subscribers network using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Very high-bit rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL), and Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS). The efficient and concentrated network management of those several distributed subscribers networks with resources require the general information model of network, which has abstract and conceptional managed objects independent of type of network and its equipment to manage the integrated subscriber network. This paper presents the general Internet subscribers network model of the managed object to manage that network in the form of integrated hierarchy This paper adopts the object-oriented development methodology with UML and designs and implements the integrated subscribers NMS of cable data network and VDSL network as examples of the subscriber networks.

Two perspectives on developing better decision capabilities for a warranty system can be identified: one involving the inclusion of a 'learning' module and the other the inclusion of a 'prioritization' capability. This paper demonstrates how a warning process can be included in a warranty system by coupling with a neural network's learning capabilities. In addition to the neural network, a method is employed for assigning priorities to warning criteria by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Thus, it is possible to construct an integrated system with three components: the warranty system, the AHP module, and the neural network system. A case study is provided to enhance the accuracy of warning/detection judgment in a warranty system for automobile companies, having many factors related to the warranty system.

The BWS (broadcast website) data broadcasting service for terrestrial DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting) has a great advantage that it can provide a website like service through broadcast without web traffic to a plurality of receiving terminals. However, the value of BWS has not been recognized due to the development of mobile communication technology and changes in the environment, where mobile web services through smart devices such as smart phones and pads are common. Recently, various hybrid service technologies provided through hybrid broadcasting, a fusion of broadcasting and communications, have been developed. In this paper, we propose a scalable BWS dividing the hierarchy of BWS into transmission layers and present its application for hybrid DMB data broadcasting services.

Vincenzo Scamozzi as the successor of Palladio stands as a major accomplishment of the task of cleanup to the classicism in 16th century. In addition, unlike the trend seen over Palladian, he shows succession and change of Renaissance villa. "L'Idea dell' Archittectura Universale; The Idea of a Universal Architecture"(1615) is a book of Scamozz's representative. This book is represented his idea for a residential building. His concepts for a residential building were analyzed through the analysis of his book and work. Scamozzi thought that domestic architecture should be designed according to he owner's social status and reputation. These concepts as decorum and this is divided into three categories. This is a threefold order, the first category and highest encompassing reigning princess and their families, who were more or less regarded as God's representatives on earth. The second category comprised noblemen and high office holders whose houses were to be, in all respects, a degree less grand, costly and dignified than the prince's residence. The third category was made up of prominent citizens and wealthy merchants whose houses were to have only moderate commoner did not come into this classification at all. - the magnifiche, honorevoli, and commune style of speech.

Video indexing plays an important role in the applications such as digital video libraries or web VOD which archive large volume of digital videos. Video indexing is usually based on video segmentation. In this paper, we propose a software tool called V2Web Studio which can generate video clips utilizing shot boundary detection algorithm. With the V2Web Studio, the process of clip generation consists of the following four steps: 1) Automatic detection of shot boundaries by parsing the video, 2) Elimination of errors by manually verifying the results of the detection, 3) Building a modeling structure of logical hierarchy using the verified shots, and 4) Generating multiple video clips corresponding to each logically modeled segment. The aforementioned steps are performed by shot detector, shot verifier, video modeler and clip generator in the V2Web Studio respectively.

In this paper, we identify and evaluate the information security factors considered in outsourcing development of information systems for defense agency with analytic hierarchy process(AHP). To assess the information security elements, we prepared three groups including the experts of a defense agency, subcontractor managers and subcontractor practitioners who are involved in developing information systems. And the relative importance of security factors were analyzed using questionnaires and responses. As a result of analysis of 27 security factors, factors corresponding to human and physical security as a whole were evaluated as having higher importance. Although there are some differences in the ranking of some importance according to human roles, they can be positive for the implementation of complementary information security. And administrative security and technical security can be relatively insignificant considering that they can be considered as infrastructure of the overall information environment. The result of this paper will be helpful to recognize the difference of perception of information security factors among the persons in the organization where collaboration is activated and to prepare countermeasures against them.

This research reviewed previous research related to Performance Measurement Models of Knowledge Management (PMMKM) in order to integrate their findings with more recent research and construct a new PMMKM. This new hypothetical PMMKM consists of an input sector, a process sector, an outcome sector, and an infrastructure sector. Each sector has three measurement items with the exception of the infrastructure sector which has two. Empirical analyses testing the overall performance model validity of the hypothetical PMMKM were favorable. However, it show be noted that the "share process" and "utilization process" items in the process sector merged into one single item. The same is true with the "individual outcome" and "organization outcome" items in the outcome sector found one single item. The study's results reveal three implications with respect to performance. First, there are derived integrated performance measurement sectors and items based on overall management process of knowledge management, which can be practically applied to the government related research entities. This became apparent after extensive review or previous theoretical studies related to the public sector and private sector. Second, weighted performance measurement of knowledge management using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) Analysis makes it possible to propose PMMKM in government sponsored research institutes. Finally, measuring performance to management knowledge, as shown in this study, will prove useful for inside and outside experts who propose specific guidelines and methodologies for Knowledge management at government sponsored research institutes.

This paper investigated the hypotheses about how the degree of IT mentoring program satisfaction can be affected by mentors' competence, college students' participation, and professors' interests in the field of information technology. First, empirical results showed that IT mentoring program satisfaction could be improved when mentors' competence and authenticity exposed to college students. Second, another finding is that IT Mentoring Program satisfaction is significantly positive in the field of both SW and HW. Finally, the role of IT mentor is very essential to university-industry collaboration irregardless of government support. However, college students' participation and professors' interests was low when they didn't get government support.
